    Nice friendly hotel.

    Friendly staff dining room and lounge area,s very comfortable. good situation for local attractions.

    We booked a superior room as a celebration break for our 51st wedding anniversary only to find the room disappointing. It was not up to the standard we were expecting as at our previous visit last year when we stayed in a standard room.

The food was absolutely delicious and the proprietor told us of a live band playing in the village hall; we went and it was a lively great evening.     Overall expericence of this hotel was excellent, staff made you feel welcome and little extras like a teddybear in the room added a homely feel, bed was extremely comfortable and a lovely breakfast.

    The shower was only a mixer tap and therefore didnt have very good pressure, and was fairly low for anyone that is tall, however there was also a bath.

    Warm welcome from Mr. Fin -manager?? Helpful receptionist. Warm room and large bed Breakfast quite good but stale smell in restaurant.

    Room had small shower. Room needed some TLC and updating. Towels were hard and old. For £115 B and B would have expected slightly more - just come back from the centre of Pars -amazing room - B and B £160 for two of us for THREE nights. Perhaps some careful thinking needs to be done??

    Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast service. Free WiFi service.

    Nothing really bad. Decoration a bit tired here and there. Could be more generous with tea-bag supplies in rooms. Details really. Main problem was room not made-up when we checked in late afternoon.

    Good Food

    Broken shower head in bathroom.Room very small no where to store bags.Outside hotel light very powerful difficult to sleep.We had to ask for the complimentary wine but no chocolates arrived !

    that i had to pay £30.00 extra to stay in the hotel instead of the cottages which were not cottages, only en-suite rooms in a building accross the road from the hotel.

    "A comfortable reasonably priced hotel in a very pretty village. I had read some reviews which were very complimentary about the food but we found the choice very limited and pretentious. The hotel seemed very quiet but in an uncomfortable(dead) way rather than peaceful. To improve our stay we would have prefered a more relaxed atmosphere where we didn't feel we had to whisper."     "The room was a bit cramped, the carpet stained in a few places. There was no hairdryer as advertised (we had one in our luggage so didn't mention this until morning of departure). Bathroom needed a facelift; no facility to control flow of water in shower (strong!) On the plus side, the owner is friendly and helpful, the waitress pleasant and efficient, and the food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent.     "Very friendly, comfortable, spacious atmosphere. The bar restaurant was very nice, and our dinner was excellent. The breakfast couldn't be faulted, either, with fresh fruit and juices. The only issue I would have with this hotel is that it obviously has some issues in the ceilings. The corridors/stairwell area had very bad patches that really do need repair.     "I wish we had booked for more than one night. We arrived in time to shower and change for dinner. The menu was limited, but gave full details of the dishes on offer, which included fish and vegetarian options. We ate and drank well and took coffee in one of the lounges before retirning. The bed was comfortable and the lack of traffic or any other noise meant we spent a quiet night. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and we took the opportunity to stroll around the grounds before leaving to visit Nunnington Hall nearby." (3305488195)

    friendly, comfortable, very good food

    4 poster bed was too high. At 5'2, a mattress 3' off the floor was a little too much after a very good meal! There was a definate smell of damp as one went upstairs, which another guest commented on too. The state of one of the ceilings upstairs (not a bedroom ceiling) suggests the roof needs urgent repairs.
