    Convenient location. Helpfulness of staff.

    Some blips in Housekeeping- one bedside light not working on arrival. Replacement towels on one day not provided - call to Reception quickly solved the problem.Restaurant food was mediocre.

    Good evening meal in restaurant. Good leisure centre.

    Rooms on arrival had clearly not been prepared and there was no heating (weather was cold). We had to make a good deal of fuss before anyone took any interest and found alternative accommodation for us. Portable electric heater which was not working - just dumped outside by staff member.

    Fantastic room....far far better than Travel lodge. in fact the best yet especially with the internet hook up. Fab designed bathroom.

    Courtyard garden was very overgrown and the noise from the wobbly tiles outside my window was infuriating especially when the kids started walking up and down on them late at night. Unable to book dinner within an hour for a single person and it wasn't explained that I had to collect the newspapers!

    Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean

    There ware a few areas in the room that were a bit shabby such as a crack and some missing plaster on the bathroom wall. The choice of menu's was a little disappointing as it was either very posh or mass produced and microwaved.

    Lovely building, stayed in the courtyard rooms. V near to the wedding venue. Easy to find.

    VERY hot room at night and couldnt seem to turn the heating down.

    Fire alarm going off at 6:35am for 15 minutes wasn't the best way to start the day.A la carte cooking didn't live up to expectation, steak was perfect but the Monkfish was a big disapointment.

    Car park full on arrival. No help offered with transporting luggage from alternative car park. Room small unheated and very cold. Noise from function warning was given at check-in but alternative room offered would have been no better. On checking out no-one asked me about my stay, staff impersonal.

    Excellent room, especially as we were given a complimentary upgrade.Pool and jacuzzi were also good.

    Loud guests in the garden during the afternoon had taken our chairs and table which somewhat spoiled our enjoyment.

    Clean, comfortable room, of a good size. Ground floor, which was a "plus" for me.

    Service less personal than in smaller hotels, had to search for the toast machine at breakfast.

    The hotel was very nice and set in lovely surroundings. Our room was a good size. The buffet breakfast as very good.

    At breakfast on Sunday morning the staff in the breakfast room were more interested in conversation than clearing tables. We ended up with three lots of dishes on the table by the time we left the room. In the room the design of the bathroom leaves something to be desired. It is all very well having two sinks, but with only one hand towel, positioned at the end of the sinks, rather than in the middle it seems rather pointless.

    The breakfast was very nice. Had lots of choice and was of a high standard.

    We stayed on the first floor and my brother stayed in the new wing on the ground floor. Our room was far inferior to his room. His decor was more inviting, the room was larger, the outlook was pleasant, their furniture was more modern. Ours was very dated. We overlooked the car park. On the first night we were there we had a lot of noisy people sitting downstairs to about 2.00 in the morning. I could not believe that we were charged the same rate. We did not want to make a big deal out of it but when two rooms are booked at the same time it might be worth issuing people with the same standard of rooms. I did feel a bit let down. The girls on reception, when questioned, did say that they were all of the same standard. This I cannot believe.

    We were upgraded, which was very welcome. The restaurant food was superb and very fresh. The staff were friendly.

    The room layout was a bit odd. The TV was too far away from the bed so we had to pull it closer and the bathroom, while spacious, lacked surfaces to put toiletries.

    "We really liked this hotel, after reading the other reviews we didn't expect too much, but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised! We stayed in a 'master garden' room which has a balcony over looking fields and a lovely garden. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The free use of the pool jacuzzi sauna and steam room were an excellent bonus on a wet bank holiday weekend! We eat at the farmers arms which we also recommend for traditional home cooked food!"     "The Leisure Weekend stay at the Hotel was nothing short of Excellent. We where a group of four 2 Older Ladies (used to travelling etc) & ourselves a little younger mature couple.     "Having searched through some 20 odd hotels, I only came across this Hotel by accident.It seems it is not listed on the major search sites for 'Hotels in...' I was charged £70.00 for the night (average charge these days) and would use this hotel again. I sometimes need to put up extra colleagues and would not be afraid to book rooms here for them as well. Breakfast was nicely presented and freshly cooked, but was largely fried / cooked English breakfast with little alternative for continental apart from some basic items. As the room was booked 'room only' the £10 charge made for breakfast was disapointing given my taste for a healthier lifestyle. Overall, value for money was good." (97052911)

    nicely furnished room, conveniently located to both reception, the onsite pub and health spa. The Health spa was excellent although the gym equipment was a little limited. Free internet access in the room was excellent.

    the bathroom was a tad old fashoined and could do with brightening up / a revamp.
