    Nice historic hotel building in fantastic grounds with all staff being friendly whilst professional and efficient. Great food too. good value. What more can you ask for in London with ample free parking.

    Some quiet background music in the bars would be nice as you can hear everyone elses conversations.

    Lovely grounds. Quiet location. Interestng history.

    We requested a cot for our baby. We rang up a couple of days before hand to ask if a cot would be provided and we were assured that if it was requested, it would be there. It wasn't in our room when we arrived. Ground floor windows did not have a fan light to allow ventilation in a secure way (a bad design).

    Room was excellent,however some trouble operating light switches,the porter on duty was extremely helpful.

    Bin in bathroom had not been emptied.I was a little concerned as i had window open a little and there was not a security lock on it.Room was on the ground floor.

    Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, lovely big and comfortable bed. Dinner was good and the food beautifully presented and service was good.

    My room in the lodge was very dark and necessitated the use of electric light at all times. The supplies on the hospitality tray in the room would not have been sufficient for two people to have had afternoon, evening and early morning drinks and one pot of milk was on the turn. I would have preferred an earlier slot for dinner than 8.30 but wasn't offered one.

    Manager, location and rooms excellent.

    One of our rooms was changed resulting in my son and daughter having to share a double bed instead of the twin room requested.

    Quiet and pleasant surroundings. Staff very friendly and empowereed to make decisions if things went wrong. Breakfast very good.

    Shower pressure was not adjustable. TV picture a bit noisy.

    I have stayed at the Grimsdyke on numerous occasions. The staff are always polite and attentive.

    Most rooms have been upgraded. Still a few rooms that are a little 'sad'

    VERY CLEAN AND FRIENDLY HOTEL, NICE TO BE IN A COUNTRY GARDEN ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT THE ROAR OF TRAFFIC

    THE ONLY BAD POINT WAS THE BANGING OF DOORS IN THE NIGHT WE WERE IN ROOM 105 WHICH WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE DOOR WHICH WAS BANGING ON BOTH NIGHTS BETWEEN 12AM TO 1.30AM . ALSO ROOM DOORS WERE ALSO BANGING . PERHAPS DOOR CLOSERS COULD BE ADJUSTED

    Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. The Garden suites are spacious, well maintained and well appointed. Restaurant and the food was excellent. All staff where attentive even being offered a tour of the grounds and hotel.

    Stayed before many times and will do again. Only one problem with this room, the boiler or something was very close and it made a lot of noise all through both nights. Hotel and staff were friendly and spoke english

    "The name of this hotel is appropriate in relation to the rooms, Grim!!!! Rooms are what you would expect to see in a run down premier inn. If you are showering in the morning, get up early as it takes ages for the water to turn luke warm, never mind hot." (107721387)

    The Grims Dyke is a superb Hotel, with exelent facilities, fantastic decor etc and wonderful gardens/grounds and profesional, polite, friendly staff. However it was not Widdes that stayed at the Grims Dyke on the 21st march, it was C Howard. J Widdes paid for the stay as a gift.

    "My sister and I were using the Hotel to attend a family bereavement, this meant that we were out a lot so we didn't get a chance to explore the gardens that looked beautiful." (107517483)

    Warm welcomefrom staff, personally escorted to the part of the hotel where our room was,given a guided tour on what services were available.Prompt attention from staff in the resturant and made to feel welcome. Excellent car parking facilities. Fobs for entering the building and the room gave us a sense of security especially as we were in a town that we weren't familiar with.

    Struggled a bit with our cases though the person who showed us to our room offered to carry these for us, the stairs were a problem as we had a flight to go up then down to the room, but not bad enough to complain about.

    My bed was the most uncomfortable ever experienced! Also heating hardly on and was very cold during the evening/night and in the morning.

    The hotel itself is a beautiful house with astonishing character and gorgeous grounds. The breakfast rooom and the staff there were excellent. Morning room, bar, drawing room etc. all 5* quality. My room 100% clean. Great hot water supply

    Individual 'garden rooms' have decor my grandmother would have felt very much at home with ........faded. Reception area bleak (in stark contrast to the rest of the house).

    Bed mattress too hard. Breakfast not match rest of establishment.
