    Staff made us most welcome and were very courteous The food was very good and well presented

    Access to rooms with luggage was not simple with several flights of stairs to negotiate

    Good value for £52 in an area with no real competition. Breakfast included (though scrambled egg looked awful)

    wall paper peeling off in room, corridor smelled musty. Bed very creaky. Seemed like it could do with being redecorated a bit But, good for £52 -would not have wanted to pay more though...

    "We were surprised that none of the staff pointed out the leisure facilities available in the Hotel or where they were located. On arrival we were directed to our room, but the route turned out to be quite complicated because of the size and shape of the Hotel and I did feel that it would have been more appropriate if we had been shown to our room."     The Reception staff were pleasant. The location of the Hotel was good for our purpose on this visit.

    We thought the bathroom space was very cramped and the plumbing was noisy. The bed was very hard - in fact my husband commented that he felt as though he had slept on the floor.

    Friendly, helpful staff operating in a small hotel in a country town.

    Noisey room from kitchen extractor fan with accompanied smells. Loo not flushing properly. Water pressure poor.

    "The furnishings and decoration was dated, mismatched and in poor repair. The level of cleanliness of the room was very poor. We had booked this hotel because it had a pool, however when we arrived on Sunday afternoon we were told it had shut at 1.30pm, with no exclaimation or apology. At dinner we were given an unpriced menu with little choice although we were not on an inclusive room rate. During prolonged power cut nothing was done to ensure our comfort, it would have been nice if a tea or coffee could have been provided from the gas cooker, or a drink from the bar." (97668061)

    "wouldn't pick this hotel for a stay of any length very dark and oppressive entrance. menu for evening meal limited -food a bit tasteless.beds uncomfortable and tv too small.staff are helpful and friendly. old building so layout a bit strange- residents walk through dining room to accommodation ok if just passing through" (97671528)

    Had best nights sleep I've had in ages. Very quiet room, comfortable bed and lovely white linen. Friendly staff. Bath filled up very quickly - great!

    The corridors are a wee bit shaby and in need of decorating.

    "Instructions on car parking would have been helpful (This was temporarily extra awkward owing to road works). otherwise there was nothing else we needed to know because we had to stay in Reepham to attend a function in the area. I have not ticked the no box below for recommendation as it is the only hotel and it is perfectly adequate for a short stay" (99347679)

    The beds were clean and very comfortable. The food was homely and the portions were very generous, the staff were friendly

    Gloomy decor in room, heavy awkward furniture making use of room a bit difficult for two people - would have been very bad for less nimble people

    It was in a village and the room was quiet.

    Shower poor and and insuficient hot water. Basin needed a good clean and descale. A comfortable chair could have been provided instead of the dining room chair provided. Biult-in hangers were missing.

    Old fashioned style

    Some things were a bit rickety, particulerly plumbing, but it worked with a little patience

    "Not good value for money I expected a much higher standard of accommodation and service for the money we paid. There was an air of decaying elegance about the place and I could imagine it would have been of a very good standard some 20 years or so ago. The staff were charming but often inefficient and I felt this was due to a lack of training and/or inadequate staff numbers rather than any lack of ability of willingness to please." (3304455513)

    The staff were very friendly and the hotel was clean and tidy.

    The decor was v.v. dated (circa 1980 ish) there was no hairdryer in the room and the remote control for the TV (on one of those awful wall brackets nearly at the ceiling which was not good for viewing or our necks) was missing. The staff though friendly were not efficient and we had several problems when we dined there.

    "Although the hotel has a lot of historical charm, non-smoking rooms should be offered, as the smell of stale cigarette smoke is unpleasant for non-smokers. Closing the sports facilities as early at 6.30 pm is unreasonable. One reason I selected this hotel was to enjoy the Gym, pool and jacuzzi which closed at the same time as we checked in. Closing at 8.30 would be better. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, but the breakfast compares very unfavourably to an average B & B. It should be served to order, or a cold buffet offered as english breakfast does not keep well on a hotplate." (2332516)

    Charming old-fashioned atmosphere. Large room and good-sized bathroom. Comfortable bed and plenty of storage space.

    The room did suffer from the smell of stale smoke and a non-smoking room was not offered. The dinner service and food in the restaurant are very good but the decor would benefit from updating. The breakfast was poor. A cold buffet should be offered, as english breakfast is only good when served to order. Our experience was of dried up bacon and rubbery scrambled egg. The toast also would have benefitted from some good quality preserves rather than the unappealing, tired plastic cartons of jam and honey. We were unable to use the gym and swimming pool as it closes ridiculously early an 6.30pm - the same time as we checked in. On a weekend break I want to be out during the daytime and be able to enjoy the hotel facilities at least until 8.30pm.

    "Old Brewery House Hotel needs significant investment to upgrade its facilities. The bathroom facilities are barely adequate and the bedroom and dining room both suffer from dim, dull lighting. The location is superb and the staff are friendly and informative. The food is good. We were lucky in that the weather was superbly sunny and most of our days were spent exploring the Norfold countryside. On a dreary wet weekend, the hotel would lack creature comforts." (1669530)
