    Polite overworked staff

    Overhead and bed-side lights broke or didn't work; basin wouldn't empty, no cold water Sunday morning (therefore shower unusable - this was at least in part of, if not the whole hotel); no remote for TV and so impossible to change channel; reduced choice for breakfast due to short-staffing

    Thought I had booked online at the Britannia Country House as usual. Expected the Airport Hotel to be a mess. Updated room great, very quiet

    Had an early flight. Went down at 6.15 a.m. for continentalbut no staff insight even at reception. Felt I was on the Marie Celeste. Had to enter Kichen area to find a live body. Cook was very helpful. Lucky for your company I was honest enough to pay later when I finally found a staff member at reception

    Friendly efficient staff, good room service. Reasonable restaurant.

    Poor water pressure in bathroom basin (bath ok). Only one lift working in a hotel with over 200 rooms. Decor now tired and furnishings worn (eg. room chair, curtains) Windows need cleaning externally.

    Excellent value for money for a stopover.

    Although the room was inexpensive the hotel obviously tries to make up on the cost of breakfast. At times the only working lift was very busy.

    Hotel and staff were excellent and very good value for money. I will stay at this hotel in the future.

    The organisation and staff attention to guests at breakfast could be better but the food was good. I am disabled and being self service there was no-one around to assist with carrying the food to the table.

    "We only stayed in this hotel as all others in the Manchester area were fully booked - I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone." (107726911)

    Our room smelt of stale smoke and was dirty. The windows were filthy. The bathroom had towels but no bath mat - which lead to my friend slipping on the wet floor. There was broken glass all over the car park.

    1st room we were given bed was unmade sheets did not fit and it was cold the bathroom had not been cleaned there where pubic hairs in the bath, sink and on the floor and the bath had not been cleaned.on complaining the second room was slightly better warm but bath still had hair in it suggest maid washers clothes out now and again

    The heating system within the hotel was very poor, people were sitting the the bar and restaurant with their coats on. It was near freezing outside and the airconditioning was blowing out cold air. Not a particularly nice environment to be in. Heating in the room was also poor and the cleanliness of the room was also poor.

    Free secure parking, Towels were clean and of reasonable quality.

    Hotel generally very shabby, no remote control for TV, toilet roll holder broken, quality of mattress very poor, water system very noisy, carpet not hoovered, actually trod on staple causing discomfort.

    The bar staff were polite & efficient.

    Windows did not close properly.Doors slammed every time in closing.7 Floors up.Breakfast was just like being in the forces again & drinks were empty.Parking was so tight you needed a can opener to squeeze into your car.

    The room was not cleaned to a high standard. The windows must have had at least five years dirt on them, the net curtains on the window were yellow and stiff with age, there were two cigarette burns in these curtains.the carpet in the room looked like it had been vacuumed by somebody with tunnel vision, the sides and under furniture were dusty. The waste bin in the bedroom contained, under the plastic binliner, waste from a previous occupant. The bathroom was unclean, dirty marks in the bath, rusty plughole, didn't look inviting to have a bath nor a shower.the rubber mat which goes into the bath for shower was unclean. Behind the toilet the edge of the floor meeting wall was full of grime and there was even a tablet lying in it which had obviously been dropped by a previous occupant. The bed sheets were clean.The kettle in the room was still marked with smudges from the previous occupant. Breakfast was not worth the money. Dishes on display were dried up and inedible.Tea flasks need cleaning they are very dirty and stained.

    When I spoke to the duty manager about the issues below action was instant.

    TV remote did not operate TV. Only one chair in room. Twice I spoke to reception. On both occasions action was promised but nothing happened.

    Able to make coffee in the room early in the morning, silence, free bus from and to Airport. Able to have dogs in the hotel.
