    Very good breakfast served in very pleasant dining room. Staff very pleasant and obliging

    Very small bathroom although quite adequate. Unable to turn radiator off so room very warm-----apparently new central heating system recently installed and will be checked out

    Friendly staff

    Noisy ventilation unit near to room.(rm 8) On all night.On flight path for the airport even though south of the river.Breakfast very greasy.Nobody on reception on arrival,bar staff had to go and find the owner.

    Attentive and friendly staff; nice having a 3/4 bed in a large single room

    Menu was a little uninspired - very much 'safe' english food, which was extremely good and well presented. A few more adventurous dishes would have appealed to me but the owners probably know their market better than I do!

    Breakfast room good. Manageress very helpful regarding a trip into Newcastle.

    Bathroom much too small. Shower leaked. Decor in bathroom and bedroom in poor state. Generally run down. Needs complete revamp.

    Although only staying on a Bed +Breakfast basis we found the food good, well presented and hot when served.

    Inconsideration by other guests, being disturbed during the hours 12MN-3AM.(Could the hotel display reminders about consideration to other guests ?)

    Very friendly and helpful staff, Nice peaceful surroundings, Very nice wholesome food. The breakfast was very comprehensive and well prepared. Excellent value for money

    Very friendly & helpful staff. Food excellent & good value.Very well patronised by Locals which is always a good sign. Well kept draught beer & nice wine. Management were on hand & had selected their team very well. Parking facilities good & secure.

    "Our short stay was OK. The business side of the hotel (Bar/restaurant) was very good. The standard and choice of food was excellent. Some work needs to be done in the guest area to bring it to the same standard." (99262769)

    Very friendly staff who ensured nothing was too much trouble. Very polite and attentative to our needs.

    Guest rooms are somewhat careworn and could do with a good revamp, bathrooms are not up to todays standards, shower fittings and controls are very poor. A high end price is being charged but does not deliver on the standard of fixtures and fittings.

    "The hotel was very clean and well presented, staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel was quiet and relaxing. Although we did not use the restaraunt it was very busy on Sunday, and it would have been nice to have been forewarned how busy it would be as we had to go elsewhere for our Sunday Lunch !!!     Staff were very friendly and amenable. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

    The bath was not big enough and the shower was inadequate.

    It was compact, clean, and ideal for my overnight stay for a friend's wedding. The staff were friendly and it was nice and quiet.

    "The key issue for us was to have a good nights rest in a clean place and a good breakfast to start us off for the next day travelling home. The hotel exceeded in all of these and the staff's friendliness and professionalism was an extra." (99981154)

    The staff were very friendly & courteous. The hotel is in a quiet location and the room albeit small was nice and the mattress was firm. The breakfast was very good. Checking out was easy and quick.

    The ensuite shower/WC was sufficient but fairly small. Big people might struggle here ...

    "The Hotel was in a ideal position, only a couple of miles from the wedding venue we was attending. The staff were very helpful arranging the taxi for us. We had a meal in the hotel on the first night which was excellent also a nice bar to have a drink in so we didn't have to venture far, which after a drive from London was most welcome. Our room was very nice. Breakfast excellent and all the staff very friendly and helpful." (99366664)

    Clean, friendly, helpful. Waiter formed a 'guard of honour' at the restarant entrance when not active, not seen that since the 70's. Nice quiet atmosphere. Breakfast waiter was superb in all respects.

    The hotel has installed wireless access since my last visit and it's free of charge. A useful addition to the facilities.
