    The Bar in the Cellar was very nice, the Hotel had won a CAMRA award so will have to try the Beers next time

    The downstairs bar was fantastic... great beer and a Quiz!!! Coulod bring in Fish and Chips from next door, too. Hosts were so friendly.

    weird and possibly dangerous wiring of hairdrier plus mountaineering over furniture to reach TV which didn't work very well.Steep narrow staircases up to room which worried us re health and safety

    Comfortable and clean room. Good bar - very cosy and friendly with helpful landlord.

    Noisy gas boiler in cupboard in room. No phone in room so had to go outside and down to bar to communicate. Too many stairs up to room.

    The owners were helpful. The pub itself had good ales.

    This is not 4 star accomodation. It is cramped, tired looking and not up to standards for cleanliness contrary to the website description claiming it to be "bright and airy". The only thing more uncomfortable than the room was the 48 hr cancellation policy which added to our disappointment.

    "The check in process was so easy it was like visiting a friend of the family, we enjoyed the company of the owners and locals in the pub/bar that night and a good night sleep in our rooms, which were clean and comfortable as well. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and we were left to explore the town while our bags were stored for us till our ship was due to board, we returned to pick them up and a cab had been called for us. When we returned from our cruise with hours till our bus to Heathrow the owners kindly allowed us to store our bags for the day while we took a side trip to Canterbury which was excellent. The hospitality was genuine." (97324194)

    Clean and comfortable located above a working pub, the locals are friendly and the owners are excellent hosts. The rooms afford you privacy, adequate space and each room has its own bathroom. The views are also a bonus.

    Be prepared for stairs, only a problem when carrying your bags.

    Noisy boiler located in cupboard in the room came on at 06.10 Wi-Fi was suspect and crashed during my visit which is a real problem for me personally Late breakfast but I knew that before I came

    The owners Peter and Catherine were GREAT!!! They were VERY accommodating to us and our children. We were 9 people and had 3 rooms and they were just fantastic.

    Very centrally located

    Not at all child friendly, room was very small, and the beds were also very small. Even your web site did not warn us that the hotel was not child friendly. The ensuite door lock was broken so anybody could have walked in.

    "We stayed at this hotel previously and were expecting the 1st floor room as advertised(high ceilings etc)but ended up on the 2nd fl in a family room. One of the main reasons we booked the hotel was the fine restaurant, which does not serve evening meals anymore.The owner said there was not enough customers to justify staying open,At Cullins just down the road we just got the last table."     "There were 2 flights of steep stairs up to our room which made it very difficult for my husband. There was no mention of the stairs in the hotel description if there had been I would not have booked it. I would not reccommend this hotel for anyone with any kind of mobility problems." (97280861)

    "For what we wanted - an overnight stay before a ferry crossing - this hotel was ideal. Very difficult to find fault with anything, but if we were really picky it would be the view from the bedroom window. But, for a one night stay, who cares." (99172260)

    "There is nothing to complain about this hotel/wine bar. The bedrooms were pleasantly decorated and furnished, the dinner was served in a charming room and the food was well cooked gargantuan in size at value for money price. The breakfast was termed the 'Big English Breakfast' and rightly so, after the food the night before it defeated me.The downstairs bar was a wonder to behold for my friend who is a CAMRA member after a week of bars with no English beer in France."     all our bedrooms were excellent as we stayed in a mixture of double and family rooms.Unusually these days the little bottles of shampoo etc had been retained and the bedrooms were fully equipped with hairdryer, trouser press and tea and coffee making facilities

    "The hotel was in a good location in the town, near enough to all the sights and the trian station to walk everywhere. The room was very clean and had everything you'd need. The bar downstairs was nice and the staff very friendly. The bar didn't prove a problem with noise or anything as it closed at 11pm, and it was quite when it was open anyway! Great place to relax."     "The accomadation does not look like a B&B from the outside and the checking in was a little difficult, maybe a sign on the door would help. The owners were very relaxed and very friendly." (99278803)

    The food in the restaurant was excellant, the pub had a warm and friendly atmosphere (great beer too). The bedroom was large and comfortable and very quiet. The en suit bathroom was also large and very clean.
