    Beautiful setting and good facilities

    Faults with room (main light not working, bathroom door not closing) Breakfast was total chaos and most unsatisfactory, only the helpfulness of the staff saved the day

    "I enjoyed the facilities and setting but was very disappointed with the restaurant menu, staff and food. We had no rolls, undercooked meat, had to ask for vegetables and ask twice for water, the coffee was lukewarm. I would recommend to stay there but eat elsewhere." (97012405)

    Very nice setting and friendly staff. Adequate room.

    Lack of communication between front desk and cleaning staff. Dining staff friendly but disinterested.

    Surprised to find ourselves in the middle of an 18 hole golf course we didn't know even existed. Facilities, et al, absolutely wonderful.

    Clean. Easy Access, Friendly Staff, Good ventilation and temperature control. Low external noise. Reasonable food quality. High speed Internet Access.

    You have a notice that says you want to save water etc by guests reusing their towels. I hung my towels back up every day but they were still changed. Not a problem but this seams inconsistent.

    "The staff in all departments of the hotel were both efficient and very pleasant. Service in the bar/restaurant upstairs was very good. Coffee could be a bit stronger and salad could be accompanied by some dressing. Breakfast was good and again staff very pleasant. Congratulations on having warm plates for cooked breakfast. This is so often overlooked in even 5* hotels. Parking was easy. Overall, a very pleasant stay." (99860395)

    The room was comfortable, quiet, clean and nicely situated. The storage space was adequate.

    "We were disappointed in the quality of the food provided. We took breakfast twice and had a bar meal in 19. The eggs were not freshly cooked at breakfast.The toast was soggy and undercooked. The coffee rather weak. The meal in Bar 19 was most disappointing. The fish was very dry with too much batter. My husband couldn't eat it. I had scampi which was only adequate. A pity that the food spoiled our stay with you." (3304534294)

    "The receptionists were very efficient and helpful. The breakfast food was very good. However, the organisation at breakfast on the Sunday morning was somewhat Faulty Towers style. On entering the dining room we were not greeted by anyone to direct us to a table or to ask us if we would like coffee, tea, toast or to explain that we should hlp ourselves. All available tables had not been cleared and were therefore not set with clean crockery. Several guests were wandering around haplessly in the same manner as ourselves. The staff were all trying very hard but lacked organisation and any kind of direction. The fruit juice required filling, we had to search tables for spare cutlery, cups and saucers etc. Eventually we were able to get the attention of a young lady to request coffee. Several guests could be heard muttering about the service. The young staff seemed rushed and stressed. However, on the Monday morning the service was much better. Therefore, I was disappointed after paying " (3304566075)

    "The staff were well trained, professional, but friendly. The view from the bedroom across the golf course was beautiful in the early morning.The restaurant was better than we had expected, and the quality of the food more than acceptable.     The room was of reasonable size, clean and the beds were comfortable.

    The bathroom lighting is bad for shaving or applying make up.

    "The food was acceptable but was no where near the quality of, say, The Wentworth at Aldeburgh, which is in the same price range. A free, or reduced rate for a round of golf might have made us stay longer or made it more likely that we would come again." (3304369340)

    The room was new, clean and relatively spacious. The towells and bedding materials were almost new. The car parking was good. Although we did not play golf, it was nice to see the facilities and to watch others playing. The staff were very young but tried hard and were very pleasant. The house wine was good value.

    Hot breakfast food had been left on the servery too long and was past its best. The fan in the bathroom was not working. The dinning room was not available so we used the servery. This was clean and functional but lacked atmosphere, as did the adjacent bar. A free, or reduced rate for a round of golf might have made us stay longer or made it more likely that we would come again.

    Lovely room,great view,helpful and friendly staff

    "Not very pleasant, I felt very out of place. If you are not a golfer, you are virtually ignored, especially at breakfast. Food was good but very expensive and not many options. Staff are inexperienced, unfriendly and not well versed in a la carte restaurant service. For the prices charged, I would certainly expect a better stay." (2416621)

    "My room felt like I was sleeping in a corridor it was very narrow and long and very cold when I booked in and during the night. There was no hot water in the shower in the morning. I had been charged too much on my bill as had the person checking out in front of me. The hotel hallways are very badly design with slopping ceilings to one side making you have to tilt your head to one side whilst and ducking under the ceiling at certain points. However the staff where very helpful and the issue with the bill was resolved quickly. The golf course also looked very nice, but unfortunately I did not have time to enjoy it." (2205273)

    "Overall, this was an excellent stay that met all needs at a difficult time. The disappointing quality of food for dinner was the only thing that we felt meant the hotel did not come up to 4* - it is not yet receiving this but surely could." (1889108)

    Clean, warm (not hot), no damage or marks and comfortable. The gym and staff were very good too.

    The only disappointment was dinner and the quality of food.
