It was far too noisy for me. Some nights there was loud coming and going, door slamming all nicht long.

Reception staff on check in were very good. Hotel generally clean and well kept. Breakfast was good and plentiful.
First room I was allocated although non-smoking absolutely stank of stale cigarette smoke. However, your lady on reception apologised and changed my room immediately.

inconsistant with staff and their performance ie breakfast on day one my son and I had afull english breakfast and was invited to have more items rrom the hot plate day two I had breakfast on my own at the hot plate I was informed I could only have 5 from 6 items I insisted on having the same as the day before returning to my table I was joined by another member of staff who requested my room number I refused to divulge the information and informed the person that they were intruding on my breakfast and asked them to leeve my table on leeving the breakfast room I went to reception to make known to them my dissaproval on doing so I was asked if I would like to talk to the manager I waited for a long period and my son joined me and I had to leeve as he had an apointment to keep on my return I was stopped at reception and once again invited to speak with manager this time he appeared I repeated my storey and was told that the staff was correct in their actions I pointed out that my son did not join me at breakfast and I could in reality have had ten items on two plates by this time I thought some one is missing the point here and the manager was in know way prepared to see reason. later that morning I checked out at the recption desk and was presened with a bill for £38 on enquiering what this amount was for I was informed it was for two evening meals as the reservation was for halfboard I had to produce an email to convince the person checking me out that billing was wrong indoing so I was then informed that an even smaller bill was outstanding and in amaisment I was asked to pay for a paper which was ordered on arrival I never recieved a paper on day one or day two so when I queried the none delivery of my paper I was informed that thay should have been collected at reception by this time I had given up on the hotel and it staff and asked how muchI owed and the answer was 25 pence what happend to my first paper ? I PAID AND LEFT
some staff not all were poor reception staff missguided and had to be corrected MANAGER could have been more in tune with the situation and used some common sence

Receptionist was excellent she couldn't help enough, she is definitely an asset to your hotel. Quality of food was also excellent, would definitely stay again.
Service in dining room was a little slow, but the quality of the food made up for the wait.

room not cleaned properly. Food in evening was dreadful ,starter forgotten and food not cooked properly ,attitude when complained , chef heard to tell us to piss off, was not helpful at all.

Good price. Nice room with welcome pack. Very helpful and professional waiter.
Bed far too small and the mattress was very soft. We booked to eat for 7:30 On arrival we were told that there were no tables and the staff took our room number and said that they would contact us in 20 mins. After about 40 mins we contacted them again and were told to come down in about 20 mins, which we did, I ordered a steak with Stilton sauce. I poured it over my steak and what I had got was a processed disgusting tasting sauce with an overpowering taste of cheddar. It was truly horrible. We did raise it with the staff at the time and this was deducted from our bill along with our drinks. However it really spoiled the meal and I could not get rid of the horrible taste for quite a while. So between the meal and the very uncomfortable bed it was not a good stay.

Room was clean and location was good for our purposes.
Dining room service and food quality left much to be desired. Understocked bar ... only Bells whisky was available as 'vintage whisky is not drank around here'. Poor room security, the door lock was loose and no chain lock. No news channel on the TV.Room was not made up when we returned to the room at 4pm.

Staff where very good and only willing to help with problems.
First room was dirty and smelling of smoke with cigarette ash on window cill. The general cleanliness of the rooms was poor. Room noise was high from traffic. On second day ran out of full breakfast.

Restaurant staff friendly and helpful.
Room was shabby in need or re-decorating, chipped paintwork, tatty curtains, crack in sink, stained bath, holes in tiles, furniture shabby, bedside lamp did not work. Reported this on first night but still not replaced on the second night. Incorrect menu in room for room service. Breakfast in room service stated croissants but received bread rolls.

Peaceful room, clean and plenty of towels
I had to wait a long time for the night porter to open the front door so that I could get out. Instead of showing concern that I needed to leave a 2am he began to lecture me about the reason why, in future I should only press the bell once instead of twice when requiring the night porter. I had been called in the middle of the night to be with my father who died shortly after I arrived at his bedside. I found the attitude of the night porter very insensitive. surely if someone is leaving the hotel at 2am looking distressed then there is usually a good reason why!

walls of the room are paper thin you can hear every thing in the next room like the loud talkin/shouting at 3.30am then there toilet breaks :( also drunk people banging the door at 12.30 am :(

Bed linen etc very clean. Bedroom very clean. All equipment in very good working order. Bathroom mainly very clean.
Bathroom floor a little dirty in corner. The double bed not satisfactory, as made up of two single mattresses, which seemed to slope a little in the middle.

"We were looking forward to revisiting the Quality Hotel again having stayed there several times. At check in, we were told that check out would be 11.00am and not 12.00 as stated. When we booked our table for the evening meal, we asked for 6.30pm, but were asked if we could chnge this to 7pm as a coach party was expected. No real problem for us to do this, yet when we arrived at the restaurant at 7pm, the coach party had not arrived. We ordered our starter and main courses (which were fine) apart from a leaking finger bowl, which seeped onto my partners trousers. We complained to our server about this. We then ordered our dessert. We waited. We waited some more. The coach party arrived and some of those guests were asked to take a drink at the bar as 'chef wasn't ready'. We waited for our dessert. We summoned our server - still no dessert. I got up and spoke to the manageress and around 25 minutes later our desserts arrived - though one wasn't as ordered. We complained. The dessert was put right. We slept on a lumpy bed. Next morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast and was greeted with "Coach party?". So much for other guests I thought. We were shown to our table. I had to ask if everything was self service. There was a hot buffet limited to sausages, fried eggs, bacon, beans and plum tomatoes. No fresh fruit. No yoghurts. No continental option. Fruit juices from glass jugs that were previously the carton. At least there were two flasks of tea or coffee available. We checked out without being asked how our stay was. Just as well as we would be explaining all this. Come on Quality Hotel - you can do better than this. We went to The Station Hotel for our Sunday lunch - less than 1m away and well worth it too. Staff and cleanliness of room/hotel was very good,towels and bed linen lovely & fresh. Very quiet, Breakfast yummy..
Shower curtain smelt, needed washing,or new ones, shower didn't work properly and bed mattress tad springy.

Lovely welcome, helpful receptionist
Not bad, but not as good as reception was the breakfast arrangement. No one actually spoke to me, and it wasnt until I had workded out how to help my self and finished my breakfast that I went and asked whether they wanted me to sign anything!
