    "In general appart from the comment re the bath/shower our stay was pleasant and the staff at all levels were very pleasant and helpful." (107724990)

    We would have have preferred a bath with overhead shower facilities and the shower facility although adequate was messy and sprayed out on to the bathroom floor.

    "took mam and dad to york for there golden wedding and stayed in the park hotel was excellent just a short walk over bridge and right in the middle of everything which was great as dad dosent get around as easy as he used to" (108960078)

    "After a negative start, found the room to be in good order, clean. Strange layout of the hotel. Had to take 2 lifts to get to the room and no stairs as an alternative except the fire escape. Not very good if you are claustraphobic and can't use lifts!" (108268536)

    Had to queue when checking in and out. Not acknowledged by reception staff while waiting. Unwelcoming and unfriendly attitude from the staff member who checked us in.

    The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We found the reception staff very friendly and helpful and will be staying in this hotel when we visit York again. This hotel is within easy access to the attractions and the night life of York.

    The only bad point was the £12 a day parking charge.

    The hotel was very clean, quiet and in a good central location.

    The lifts need to be upgraded, we were on the 8th floor and felt we spent ages waiting for lifts to arrive.

    Lovely hotel, helpful and friendly staff.

    Thought breakfast for 2 at £27 was very overpriced! Glad I actually had a full english and not just a glass of orange.

    Great location and great hotel.

    Reception should have warned us about the noisy revellers at weekends and advised us to keep the windows closed.

    BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, HAPPY THERE WERE 2 PILLOWS EACH (MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE)

    ONLY 1 PACKET OF BISCUITS FOR 2 OF US IN THE ROOM AND ONLY 1 TEABAG EACH (I REALISE WE COULD HAVE PROBABLY ASKED FOR MORE SO IT WASN'T REALLY A BAD THING.WE HAD PROBLEMS GETTING SERVED AT BAR ON RETURN AT 10.30PM AND FELT SORRY FOR BAR STAFF AS THEY WERE HAVING TO SERVE A LARGE WEDDING PARTY AND AT TIMES THERE WAS ONLY 1 PERSON SERVING

    "The hotel was perfect for what we needed, I proposed to my girlfriend here and got a free glass of Champagne (nice touch). the renovation was well done with a high spec finish." (107377863)

    Excellent location, 5-10 minute walk to central York and main attrations. Individually temperature controlled rooms, well sized clean rooms. Staff were excellent, and really attentive. Restaurant uses a cavery system, meals very tasty.

    trouser press didn't work Shower head fixed in the ceiling, couldn't be angled. Room service unreliable during busy breakfast periods.

    Check in was excellent and the receptionist was very helpful. House keeping were efficient when we asked to borrow an iron.

    There were none - I just wished the weekend would have lasted for longer!

    "cheap but chearfull and served its purpose of somewhere to crash after a night out however was a little dirty and felt as if a lick of paint had not brought the place up to scratch it needs more work!" (107381632)

    cheap, centrally located for nightlife, visible from a distance so you can find it even when drunk as a lord, efficient reception staff

    dated feel, appeared unclean, lack of temperature control as place was boiling hot, kitchen smells lingering through the hotel corridors, confusing layout, small car park which is very claustrophobic and only just suitable for 4x4 vehicles

    "We had a refurbed room in the main part of the hotel which was comfortable and well decorated. Open plan wardrobes and no drawers in the room may not suit everyone though. Nice bar overlooking the river and breakfast was as you would expect from a buffet choice." (107890067)

    The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk to the city centre but in an area with bars/restaurants if you want to stay local. 10 min taxi to the Racecourse.

    Nicely appointed bathroom with shower cubicle rather than a bath, unfortunately not a lot of power in the shower!!

    "York is very dear to my husband & I ,we bought the material for my wedding dress in the shambles & bought our wedding cake from the cake shop just off the square . This hotel is ideally situated to enjoy all York has to offer ,with just a short walk across the bridge." (107543043)

    The position of the hotel to the centre of York is excellant, the room was spotlessly clean & very comfortable,and the parking was a plus

    Would have been better if we could have had an appointment with beautician maybe you could have a booking system with the hotel instead of direct to her as she was away for weekend but no one knew this !

    nothing was too much trouble, good food in the restaurant and also room service was good value. lovely view from the room of the river ouse and york cathedral,in walking distance from the train station and into the city of york..had a really good, relaxing and enjoyable week-end...would recommend this hotel....

    the only downside was that our room had an interconnecting door and the neighbours were rather loud, which meant we heard every word and noise they made.

    clean, modern with a very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast, though one guest nearly burnt herself on the extremely hot plates. (I needed 5 napkins)
