    "We stayed for 1 night only in order that we could attend the PDC darts event that was taking place at Alexandra Palace which incidentally is no more than 20 minutes away by taxi, cost approx. £12. The hotel is located in North Finchley and there are a number of shops, restaurants and pubs all within 5 minutes walk. Our stay was overnight so that we could visit the darts event at Alexandra Palace. We visited a number of pubs in the locality including the Tally Ho and O'Neills and found the locals to be very friendly wherever we went. We also used the opportunity to return back into the City Centre to do some sightseeing on the afternoon of our arrival and this hotel is an ideal base for people wishing to visit the attractions of London who may not necessarily wish to stop within the City Centre itself. This was our first stay at this hotel and indeed in this area of London and we were not disappointed." (108038868)

    Firstly, this hotel is only 25 minutes on the Northern Line from the City Centre to Woodside Park Station and no more than a 5 minute walk from the station. On arrival, we were offered a warm welcome and the staff were very pleasant. The room was a decent size, warm considering the sub-zero temperatures outside and clean with en-suite, TV, tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was very comfortable and I had a peaceful night's sleep. There was a choice of full english or continental breakfast in the morning. I opted for the full english and very nice it was too!

    I'm finding it difficult to think of any bad points so obviously I didn't experience any.

    Excellent location, very near tube station and local pubs and only 10 mins to Alexander Palace which was the main reason we booked.

    The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The staff were very nice indeed and very helpful. Booking in was very straightforward; there were no problems at all with the booking system. The blackout curtains for night were very good. Parking was good. The garden was very nice indeed. There was a trouser press, hair drier, TV and we could make hot drinks in our room.

    Our bedroom was very dark even with all the lights on - it was a strain to see in the room, but our friends' room was fine. At breakfast, the porage turned out to be a packet mix and was very very sugary. It was really nice to see porage on the menu but it was a shame it was so unhealthy! The breakfast choices overall were very good, and very nice, and there was a good selection of fresh fruit too.

    Our Room is big enough and the staff is very friendly and kind.

    The door and the walls are too thin to shut out the noise of other guests. The noise of the bathroom of the upstairs botherd us.

    "The hotel was close to the tube station and shops and pubs and it was convenient for Alexndra Palace by taxi, which was the reason for our trip." (97849648)

    The staff were very helpful, giving us local information. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.

    The light in the bedroom flickered for a while, when first turned on and there was only one cup and saucer in our room. I'm sure that if I had mentioned it to reception it would have been recified but we didn't get back to our room until late so I am not complaining.

    The quiet location. No sound from adjacent rooms. Excellent breakfast and quick, efficient staff. Good breakfast room with lovely view of the rear gardens. Lovely little ensuite bathroom with soap and gells provided. Much appreciate kettle and teabags/coffee in the room.

    The parking available was limited. Parking in the road only works if you are leaving early i.e. before 9 a.m.

    Hatherbank is a very welcoming and comfortable guest house in a wonderfully quiet yet convenient location. Th staff are helpful and friendly. What a delightful contrast to london central hotels

    The online booking was easy.

    The shower's pressure in the bathroom was very low;we didn't use it;we used only the bath.So,we used a lot of water... They must change the shower.

    Beds comfortable, en suite facilities fine

    Reception area poorly lit, at back of hotel, not welcoming. We notriced that some curtain hooks broken on arrival so that one curtain could not be drawn to give privacy (we were on front of hotel with houses facing across street. Reported to reception at 4pm but not fixed by time we went to bed (in fact curtain was removed altogether). No apology or offoer of compensation.

    "We loved our room , but it was actually more expensive than the one we had booked and we were pleased, but I don't know what the other room we had booked would have been like 'cos it was up another flight of steep stairs I couldn't manage.     "It was a pleasant surprise to be staying in a guesthouse which was so clean, comfortable and very welcoming, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast excellent. We were also very near the tube and buses to take you to central London." (97290499)

    Very comfortable and large room with good beds, also a good sized bathroom.

    No hairdryer in the bedroom.

    "The hotel was very convenient for the tube station: a straight two or three minute walk away along a pleasant, quiet residential street. On the tube, I was in central London in less than half-an-hour. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it for its all round value for money." (97193340)

    "close to town centre, but not a patch on the glenyns just up the road. free internet, but password was unreadable, so unable to use. breakfast only 5 tables for 18 rooms, so have to wait. then one plate arrived followed 8 minutes later for husbands. overpriced accomadation with lumpy beds, sheet on bed with rather dingy duvet on top. kettle on shelf would not reach plug, so had to put kettle on floor,if wardrobe was open and someone came out bathroom,doors would hit each other, bathroom very clean, however no bath, just rather small shower cubicle. very friendly staff, but would not wish to stay here again. The glenlyns is the same price and very much cleaner, and luxurious." (97002746)
