    Located close to motorway Good Breakfast Friendly Staff

    Hallways look tired and old. We had a family room. Wallpaper was old and dirty and peeling. NOt sure how clean the room was there were spiders in the room and bathrooom

    Bedrooms were clean and comfortable also the Dining Room

    No offer of a cup of tea on arrival. Asked for drinks in the bar before evening meal.My wife asked for a dry sherry and the person in charge said she did not know which was a dry sherry. She also served a schooner without asking the size required and poured it into a tumbler For our evening meal, my wife chose the roast ham and I chose the roast beef. The beef was absolutely un-eatable, extremely tough, no gravy and in my opinion, was a left-over from the lunchtime carvery. I refused to eat it and asked for it to be changed to the ham.This took approx 30 minutes and my wife had to sit and eat her meal whilst I watched. She then had to sit for quite some time whilst I had my replacement meal. My wifes meal was not very exciting either.After complaining. on our way up-stairs the Owner !!!! just said "Sorry about the beef " At breakfast, the waitress asked our choices and got that completely wrong but we could not be bothered to make an issue out of it

    I find The Abington Hotel very convienient and the staff so welcoming. The food is always freshly prepared and if you need anything it is never to much trouble for the Abington Hotel.Also they have real tablecloths, so much better on the eye. I will return again and again.

    Arrived at 11.15pm, as i was leaving at 6.45am was asked to pay for room as no staff would be on that early in the morning, was told that althought my rate included breakfast i was told no breakfast even comtinental would be available. Got to my room which had a strong smell of urine which came from the foul and poorly cleaned bathroom, went to complain but no one was around at 11.30pm, so no choice but to stay. Alarm call facilaty on phone didn't work. Worst hotel i have ever stayed in.

    Staff were very pleasant and helpfull. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection of items.

    The room is in need of a bit of updating. No remote control for the TV, no light bulb in bedside lamp. Restaurant meal in the evening was not very good value, we would have expected vegetables to be part of the general meal and not excluded simply because we chose to have fries instead of new potatoes!!

    I was able to travel to and from the venue I was attending with relative ease. Easily found, and comfortable, Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

    The hairdryer was smelling of burning quite a lot, and there was a huge spider on the ceiling, which could not be reached to be removed.
