    Breakfast was excellent and for a buffet service hot and fresh. One of the best I have had

    Found the bed very hard for me and uncomfortable. Would not have slept in it for another night.

    Staff were helpful and pleasant, the hotel was very clean and well equipped. The breakfast selection and service was excellent.

    On the night that we stayed in the hotel there was a noisy wedding reception / party going on, which we could have done without listening to.

    "Excellent. I'll definitely stay again. I usually travel with my wife and two little children, and it isn't feasible for us to stay at the hotel because we need a fridge, microwave and small hob. If you had a sort of family apartment room with these facilities in a "kitchenette" in such a way that cooking smells would not waft through into the sleeping area, coupled with the great services the hotel already offers (breakfast, leisure centre, bars), we'd be very interested indeed."     I like the individual character of the hotel, the decoration, the Victorian-Southport style of the place. The rooms was overall very good indeed. The breakfast was terrific. I found the staff very pleasant and professional. Really excellent value for money.

    There's a hole in the top left corner of the wall in Room 223 through which rainwater seems to have been seeping. It's not a big issue, but it looks really ugly and shouldn't be too hard to fix. Also one of the bathroom ceiling lights needed a new light bulb, as did the shaving light over the basin. Once again, not a big deal, but attention to little details like this is important, otherwise guests get an impression of things being a bit slipshod. Absolutely everything ought to be checked to make sure it works properly every time a guest leaves.

    Very friendly and nice staff

    Light in bathroom not working. Hair dryer had poor airflow and had to buy one. Noisy elevator sounds (clanking). Beds uncomfortable (hard). Parking inadequate - nowhere to park during check-in. Should have designated parking spots for check-in.

    Friendly, helpful staff. Great shower.

    Shabby hotel. Shabby bar. Appalling breakfast - truly awful. Unbelieveably noisy room with nightclub apparently just outside. No sleep.

    air conditioning unit mounted on flat roof other side of window was noisy. It started at 6am and was still running when I returned, it stopped about 10pm

    nice location, very pleasant staff

    Room way way too hot - no means of cooling it down. Wi-Fi access advertised but very limited. Breakfast very overcooked.

    "Our first room which was allocated (on the first floor) was very poor quality for a Best Western Hotel. When we asked to be changed we were put into a recently refurbished room (3rd floor) which was a lot better. There was no problem getting another room when requested though. " (107489974)

    Queue for breakfast Lack of parking spaces - had to park in street around back (ticket provided by hotel). Worst pillows that we have ever experienced.

    Restaurant staff, particularly Czech Republic very efficient and friendly. My evening meal, Crabcake starter and Sea Bass entree highly recommended. Checkout staff were handing an obnoxious customer very professionally.

    "Travelled to Southport to visit relatives and booked two rooms. One was an executive suite (charged at normal rates), which was a pleasant surprise. The facilities for eating and relaxing were excellent, and overall it was an enjoyable stay." (97804307)

    No lift to top floor and the Water was not always hot!

    "Food was the main complaint. Afternoon tea - Dilmah tea requested and Earl Grey served, scone - frozen and stale and tasted of onions, probably same knife had been used for veg and scone.     "Overall my stay was very good - staff were very efficient and helpful & cleanliness was good, but it's not the place to stay if you want peace and quite! Both nights there were functions on - karaoke on Friday and country dancing on Saturday - which meant the public area (the lounge) was very noisy." (97693633)

    Some minor maintenance issues - a light bulb not working and a loose ceiling tile in the bathroom - but not sufficient to spoil my stay.

    convenient,good location, reasonable rate , very good breakfast, good leisure facilities, helpful staff

    car parking was quite difficult, believe some work was being carried out in the night as it was very noisy, presume this however to be a one off

    The accommodation was excellent.

    The finishing in the bath room may need to tidy up ie some grouting around the bath.
