    The room was warm, comfortable, a decent size and everything worked. Staff reasonably friendly (though they didn't seem to be all that interested..)

    Shabby decor: plaster coming off wall in one place, stains on the ceiling, but I'd much rather that than things not working, being too cold or hot and rude staff (they weren't)

    Excellent customer service from staff - large and comfortable room. Comfortable bar area with good food.

    I could smell cigarette smoke from other people (I think from the corridor or other peoples rooms) I feel this hotel should be smoke free and this is a fire hazard.

    Ecellent restaurant. The buffet breakfast was 'out of this world' - lots of choices. Staff was very accommodating; kind and welcoming.

    Poor customer service in respect of the bar staff. We had to keep asking them the same question to get the right answer: "can we have some bar food" (first answer . . . "not till after 6pm"; second answer "OK"); "could we have a pot of tea" (first answer . . . not unless you go to your room and order it from there"; second answer: "OK") Not impressed.

    No bar food after 21.30. Room 76P - bathroom lighting inadequate - only one fluorescent light over mirror. Plastic shower head support cracked and broken so unable to adjust. Room not made up between the 2 day's stay - "do not disturb" sign put on door (not by us) after we had left on day one. Double-bed room booked - bed was actually 2x single-bed matresses on double-bed base with gap down the middle.

    I thought the staff were very friendly and helpfull. I booked for a single room, but that room was used by the cleaning crue, so the staff organized a double room for me.

    The fire-alarm went of twice during the night, but it was false alarm. I thought that the dining room could have more of an atmosphere to attract customers.

    Welcoming and helpful on arrival and it was close to our final destination. Lots of choice at Breakfast.

    Not enough towels or toilet roll, only had soap in shower so had to step into shower to get some for use in sink. no cold water in sink.Light on kettle broken so wasn't sure if it worked or not. Rooms were run down, need modernising. When we told staff on departure, we got the response we should of said the day before even though we had been the ones to keep asking for things. Just felt a little put out.

    Very friendly and efficient staff. Lounge/ bar area and dining room very pleasant. Good car parking. Good size room

    Some repairs needed in room: drawer missing its front, missing secondary glazing causing excessive noise from the busy road, especially at night

    Bar service was good. Restaurant staff helpful. A good working shower

    Took a long time to check in, Hotel did not seem able to find my on-line reservation. I think Security in the Car Park need to be better, felt property was vulnerable. Was approached in car park by individuals askimgh for money. Room toilet seat broken.

    Staff are always excellent

    The owners of the Quality Inn Birmingham (Hagley Road) were on the premises last week, I checked with the staff who pointed them out to me, they denied they were the owners when I wanted to ask them a question. The hotel is in dire need of a refurb, the bathrooms, carpets are old and stained, the sheets are not always changed and although you advertise on your website as having a gym, it is still not in use, I have been staying with you regularly since April, none of the staff seem to know when it will reopen, the tv's are nearly always on the blink and if it wasn't for your excellent staff and how cheap it is I wouldn't stay

    Good reception area and booking in, good bar and worthington beer, good to have free newspapers (and plenty of information on local attractions), pity swimming pool was shut down

    My room number 63 Door closure causes door to close very quicky, possible concern an accident may happen to someone. Shower hose was too short for me, had to crouch in shower, bathroom overall needs a paint up as looking tired Thought cost of breakfast was a bit excessive, did not eat

    staff were very helpful at check in and printed map for us to cadbury world and gave us a voucher to use as well.

    My daughter and I seemed to have a room in the older part of the hotel. Bathroom ceiling had signs of mold over the bath. Kettle leaked and room was in need of decorating, perhaps this will be done in time. Room was not as pictured on website as they seemed to show the newer rooms.

    Cleanliness and efficient organisation, liked duvet instead of blankets and nice place to eat a few minutes away, only a short walk from the cricket ground too, thank you

    Room was a bit dark, could do with better lighting. Odd that it was a four poster for single occupancy but thanks anyway

    The entire booking process was very easy and straightforward and the hotel was clean and tidy and presented a welcoming appearance.The staff were very helpful and friendly and prompt. The room was lovely and clean and tidy and quiet. I have absolutely no complaints.

    The Quality Hotel Hagley Road, Birmingham is excellent value for money. Clean rooms, helpful staff, quiet and well located for central B'ham, as well as being close to main routes out of the city. The bed was very comfortable, and the bar stayed open til midnight. When I needed a large quantity of ice to keep my son's milk chilled overnight, the bar was very helpful. We didnt have breakfast this time, but when we have in the past it has always been excellent - good choice of items, and eat as much as you can, exactly what is needed from a hotel breakfast.

    Only two (small) criticisms - the shower gel dispenser had not been refilled; and the room was very very hot when we arrived, but this was remedied by opening the window a little.

    Got a smoking room and don't smoke, so the room smelt. Also was expecting to go for a swim and only found out when we got there that the pool and gym were shut.

    Good space in rooms. Good value for money. Good staff.

    No digital channels! The towel heating rail was not working. The light above the toilet handwash basin was not working. The TV was too far from the bed. So, was the telephone. I had to jump out of the bed and run to the other side of the room to answer my wake-up call! There was hair in the bathroom!

    Great Value and on site free parking

    Heavy smell of cigarette smoke. When I enquired if there were smoke free floors I was advsied that all floors have smoking permitted rooms, which sadly impacts upon the atmosphere in the rest of the floor/rooms.

    I was awoken by a cleaner coming into my room at around half past 8 in the morning, which I thought was awful as there should be some kind of system to let the cleaners know who has checked out and who hasn't! Just overall a bad experience and I will not be staying again.
