    Schlichtes aber sehr niedliches privat geführtes Guest House. Eigentümer extrem freundlich. TOP Lage direkt am Meer, mein Zimmer im oberen Stock hatte einen 5***** Meerblick - wunderschön. Sehr ruhig gelegen, dennoch nur 3 Minuten ins Zentrum von Portobello und von dort ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Bus bis nach Edinburgh Zentrum (24 Stunden Bus-Service).

    "No problems the hotel served it's purpose of budget hotel not - could have thrown in brekkie for free though ; - )Also buses into city take a bit longer than stated - quickest we managed was 25 mins longest 45mins Sat afternoon traffic in town. Great base if you don't want to spend much,like the beach and don't mind trip into town...chintzy room didn't bother me..." (97550306)

    Location in Portobello was excellent, for people who want value for money and don't mind being a bit further out of the city centre and like to see a beach/scenary. Hotel staff were friendly.

    Room pretty small and chintzy, we were placed on the bottom floor right next to front door. Not bad though as was running marathon so grateful of no stairs. Booked in Feb, most places booked up already as b/hol w/end and marathon on - this was ideal as it was cheap and we didn't plan to spend much time at the hotel.

    Lovely room, quiet location. Placed in better room than booked due to free space on arrival.

    "Vor meinem Aufenthalt hätte ich am liebsten gewusst, wie ich mit dem Bus vom Flughafen zu meinem Hotel gelange." (97672478)

    Das Besondere war für mich, ich hatte ein Zimmer mit Meerblick.

    Es gab so gut wie gar nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat.

    The single rooms facing the garden and beach have a wonderful view and the sound of the sea. The B&B is in a very quiet and nice location.

    "This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I returned, because it gave me the chance to stay in Edinburgh during the festival without having to pay astronomical amounts for accomodation. Although out of the city centre, the bus service is excellent with buses running every few minutes so Edinburgh is very accessible. While I was there I went to the tattoo which did not finish until 11pm and I had no trouble getting a bus back. If you are on a budget, then the Harvest Guest House is probably your best option."     "We would have appreciated a little bit more information about how to get to the B&B with regards to buses and taxis as we took a taxi and it ended up quite costly especially when coming from South Africa. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we found that the staff were very friendly and helpful and that the breakfast was sufficient." (3304353810)

    The room walls were plasterboard which meant that we could here everything that was going on in the next door rooms.

    "Before booking this accommodation, I would like to know whether I can cancel this booking, which it's possible before 7 days of arrival. I was also wondering if it's is easy to find the hotel. I forgot to print the map, however, by asking someone there it's quite easy. People are quite helpful and friendly. The building looks quite old, but inside it's clean, so it does not bother me. For GBP 50.00 for double room per night (bath room is not ensuited), I think it's reasonable, but it's better to have ensuite bathroom with that price ;)." (3304668531)

    It is clean and in quite area.

    Quite far from the city center. It's about 15-30 minutes by bus (including walk to the bus stop around 10 minutes, waiting for the bus). The other thing is breakfast time is only between 8:00 to 9:00 am, which is not flexible if you'd like to go earlier.

    The staff was extemely helpful, and the breakfast in the morning was superb. Everything was clean and cozy, making for a very nice stay.

    "I felt as if i had got what i paid for, the room was small and adequate. I had read about the small cooked breakfasts here before i had gone, it is true, but the tea and toast i am sure they would have brought out indefinitely. Portobello is a sorry sea side town, beautiful but nothing is there, we found no suitable pubs or places to eat dinner, but with a cheap and frequent bus service into the centre that didnt pose a problem."     "If you want to stay in Edinburgh and are on a budget, this is one of your best options. Although it is not in the City Centre, it only costs £1 each way on the bus to reach and they seem to run every 5 minutes so is very accessible. It will be my first choice when I return to Edinburgh." (1937025)

    "Would like to have known the size of the rooms as we had a twin bedded room with hardly any floor space. The walls were so thin, you could hear every conversation. The rooms were very tiny with very little floor space, and the walls were very thin, you could hear everything from the next room.
