    Hotel was in a good location for our trip to the RL school finals at the RAF base and the challenge cup final at wembley.

    The hotel would only accept credit cards as a method to pre authorise items to be charged to our room despite offering a visa debit card which I understood to be suitable for use anywhere that displayed the VISA sign. Since I didn't have a credit card I had to keep going to get cash to pay for bar bills and food. This was rather inconvenient. I paid in full for the room at check in but when we checked out a couple of days later another receptionist tried to tell us we shouldn't have had the second day breakfast included because the tariff has increased since the time of booking and we hadn't paid the correct rate. They then said we could have the breakfast on the house!! I think he thought he was doing us a favour....a bit cheeky really.

    Very easy to find when travelling in car. Lovely restaurant and excellent food. Helpful staff. Hotel allowed us to park our car in their carpark after check out.

    Room allocation had been made incorrectly so we had to wait whilst they found us a twin room rather than a double.

    Excellent breakfast and overall service.

    Bed was too hard for both of our comforts and although the room was large the next size up for the bed would have been better (as a disabled person or for a couple).

    room for my sister was not booked after me booking on the internet,luckily I had the confirmation with me. On sunday morning there was no hot water.

    The courtesy, friendliness and efficiency of all staff were the highlights of my stay. Customer service is always my most important criteria. The customer service in all areas in the Red Lion was among the best I have encountered world-wide. The meal was excellent.

    Only a minor point, the TV equipment could be doing with modernisation.

    "dissapointed, my husband stays reularly at this hotel and i booked due to his recommendation. If the bedding had been adequate i would not of had a problem, i asked reception if they had other pillows that were firmer and offered at least some support - NO" (107507764)

    very clean hotel

    pillows were too soft and gave no sopport whatsover. i spent the weekend in agony due to this. I still cant move my neck or shoulder without pain.

    We found this to be an extremely pleasant hotel with excellent service and friendly staff. During the stay we had an unpleasant experience with a disturbance from the guests in the next room at 5.30am. We reported it to the desk and this was immediately followed by a visit from the duty manager and later by the hotel manager. They were very concerned to make sure that it wouldn't happen again, and also gave us a very satisfactory consession (which we hadn't asked for) despite it being hardly the fault of the hotel. We had several meals in the restaurant which were very good, particularly the full English breakfast! The room was nice and comfortable, and the modern accommodation building and very pleasant outside was integrated well with the ancient pub.

    "For the money paid I cannot recommend a better deal, the rooms were spacious, clean and well laid out. Restrauant facilities were superrb and the staff were amongst the most professional, pleasant and efficient we have ever had the fortune to meet. Overall thoroughly enjoyable, I only wish we had stayed longer." (97432597)

    Convenient location, decent sized clean rooms with Sky Sports too, good restaurant and friendly pub also.

    There is not really anything to dislike. Only one hot chocolate in the complimentary drinks in the room? Thats as critical as I could get.

    "Lovely building, hotel staff and great area. Bar staff could be a bit friendlier but no big deal. Non allergenic bedding would be a plus, along with some sort of heating control, the room was very warm. All in all though a good stay and we intend to return." (97912692)

    the check in was hassle free and the room was very clean and tidy.enjoyed my stay at the hotel

    a couple of things,that you could hear people,in their rooms and banging doors,and the room was very hot even though there was air con,and it would be nice to have sheets on the bed,for those of us that do get a bit warm in the night
