    Grubby nets in room windows One light not working Parking difficult - would be helpful to state there are only 12 spaces Dirty saucers in bedroom Mistake at reception resulted in overcharge by £660 - but corrected by you subsequently Disappointed no log fire in lounge as this was the impression created Stacking of chairs at bottom of stairs was arguably a health and safety issue

    Very limited car parking. We do not book hotels without parking facilities, should be advertised as 'limited'. Had to drive round finding a spot then pay, then go out first thing to re do ticket. Had to walk past smoking area to enter hotel from our room, cigarette butts on floor. Bath tap/shower worked simultaneously, mixer broken

    The staff was generally kind and helpful, and some went out of their way to be cheerful and accommodating. The hotel is in a good location and is kept up well for the most part.

    The showerhead in my bathroom would not stay in place, so I had to hold it up when showering. The wireless signal was not strong enough to reach my room on the top floor - a wi-fi repeater should work wonders. Room for 10 vehicles is hardly "ample parking."

    Staff very helpful and friendly.

    The bed was far too small and extrememly uncomfortable, the mattress sunk, I hardly got any sleep! Grotty/old looking blankets on bed, they gave me the creeps, why don't you simply use duvets?? The shower head would not stay put, it kept falling down so no water could reach you. The towels were stained and looked very unpleasant, there were no hand towels at all. The kettle was pathetic and very cheap looking.The TV channels didn't work according to the details on the list.

    Inadequate hotel parking - had to pay overnight meter parking on street outside and get up early to feed meter every hour. Poor breakfast service. Noisy plumbing in room.

    rooms were clean and well equipped. staff were friendly and efficient and the food though simple (bar meals) was good.

    Excellent all round including free Wi-Fi

    shower head in room 105 needs replacing it sprays water everywhere if not careful!!!!

    Off street parking, helpful staff, comfortable room, good food.

    Kettle didn't switch off - had to use the socket switch. Fire drill instruction sheet on door hadn't been filled in though our room was oppposite the fire escape.

    Car Park Very Small and seemed to me dominated by large Jag with Channel Island Plates which was badly parked. I got the impression this was owned by owner or manager of hotel but could be wrong.

    "It's a very old (listed) building with lots of charm but some anachronisms such as poor noise insulation and cramped parking. However, it's right in the middle of town and the staff could not have been more helpful - the service level is very high." (108505535)

    Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very good food, if slightly limited menu.

    Very noisy. Limited and cramped parking. Bath/shower arrangement pretty primitive and only one smallish towel per guest.

    Breakfast service was good

    Had to wait considerable time at unmanned reception on arrival. On departure again no one on reception and bell had been removed. When someone did arrive from adjoining room he carried on with his conversation with person in other room before attending to us and no apology was made for keeping us waiting. Very poor bar service, usually noone behind bar and had to go to reception to find someone to serve (usually noone at reception either). Was served whisky in a half pint glass. Sink not cleaned properly on last day. Unable to use bar facilities on Saturday night because of wedding reception. Difficulty getting past wedding guests sitting on staircase. Wedding reception very noisy and foul language clearly heard in room.

    The bedroom and ensuite facilites were excellent and spacious. The breakfasts were good, and the meals in both restaurant and bar were also good.

    Car parking was limited but staff were helpful within the limits.

    No extractor fan operational in the bathroom which resulted in the fire alarm being activated every time we showered. The plumbing issues (although beyond the control of the hotel)resulted in the shower going from freezing cold to boiling hot in a matter of seconds. The fill on the toilet was so slow that we had to fill the cistern using the shower if the toilet needed to be used more than once. Finally the toilet seat also fell off.

    Rooms rather dark and decor not bvery tasteful Very small amount of toilet roll in bathroom when arrived and had to go and ask for more. In the morning, cleaning staff walked in to room while we were still getting ready

    Clean and comfortable beds

    Wedding party with VERY loud music which prevented any sleep before the end. The sash cords on our window were broken so no fresh air.

    Excellent room spacious and comfortable bed. One of the best freshly cooked English breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel.

    When we arrived we were shown to a different room to one booked, when revisited reception apologies given, but then left to find the correct room ourselves, had to go back to reception when we couldnt find it and then taken to the room . Car parking is a problem but difficult to resolve.

    The breakfast! Friendly and good service. Clean, nice hotel with lovely touches. Menu for evening good.

    They disposed of the soaps in our bathroom every day! Why?? What a waste environmentally. Car park small, but plenty of parking nearby so only minor bad point.

    I booked this hotel as the info on the website led me to believe that there was free car parking on site. This was not entirely true. The hotel carpark is tiny and there were no free spaces at any time during my stay. This meant that I had to park in a pay and display up the road then carry all of my luggage to the hotel.As a single female this was not great, I had chosen this hotel on the understanding that parking was available.

    "Its a shame that our stay was ruined by the uncontrolled children waking us up at 6am, crying, banging on walls and running around the landing. This was not the hotels fault, but the parents fault who, quite selfishly did not consider other guests staying at the hotel." (107719458)

    Excellent staff. Food good, especially breakfast. Room newly decorated. Was able to find online discount and saved £40 on the nightly tarriff. I wouldnt of paid the full tarriff as it seems too expensive for the quality of comfort in the rooms.

    Beds uncomfortable (too hard). Beds base unit on view no valance or matching bedding.

    Whilst the bedroom had an electric heater - it was on a timer that only worked for four hours. So the room was very cold when I arrived and the next morning.

    Very pleasant welcome, lovely size family room.

    As silly as it sounds, little things like the bottled water in the room had already been used and not replaced. Family room at top f stairs and when carrying 2 young children it seem the stairs were never ending. Parking was an issue, had to park on the street overnight but once there was space in the car park they told me immediately and was able to park in the car park.
