    From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out we felt completely relaxed and at home. The food was excellent, the room was comfortable and well furnished and the staff very friendly and accommodating.

    Period charm and original features exactly as described and what we wanted. Staff pleasant and friendly. They remember you! Bathrooms clean and very functional.

    Rooms are size you would expect of an inn, but the normal double rooms furniture let's it down. Would want/expect old chest of drawers etc not painted wood which looked like something from travel lodge. TV reception quite poor, but it was not the reason for staying there.

    The hotel itself has lots of old world charm and atmosphere and some staff were friendly and helpful

    Tea at breakfast was extremely weak and we had to ask for extra tea bags in this standard of hotel we are usually offered speciality breads but the toast was just medium sliced no croissants available on the Monday morning no choice of bread with the evening meal - we do not eat white bread - vegetables not included with the meal. The bed head had fallen off the wall - we reported this on arrival there was excessive noise from the street area on the Sunday night as when locking up the hotel (Room 3) We observed that one older female member of reception staff was extremely sharp in her responses to the guests queries

    staff were generally eager to please and hard working

    very dusty radiator in bedroom, windows would not open, pillows were very uncomfortable, the food was either very good or very disapointing, a lack of consistency. Also some food was seen being purchased from the local co-op. Frankly we could have done that and saved money! It did not inspire confidence in the management of the kitchen. At one dinner service we were given half a round each of thin sliced bread, not good enough for a 3 star hotel.

    "We loved this hotel. The staff were superb; nothing was too much trouble and they took special care to ensure the needs of our 3 year old and 1 year old were met - they don't do a set 'children's menu' so no burger / chicken nuggets and chips thank goodness. Instead we were invited to pick something from the regular menu and they would make a smaller version of it. Brilliant idea - why don't all restaurants do that? Can strongly recommend it."     The staff are outstanding and a real credit to the hotel. The rooms are quaint and the authentic wooden beams are beautiful. The place almost forces you to chill out and relax. Pleasant communal areas and sitting room if you don't want to sit in the bar. Great food. Both dinner and breakfast were terrific. Gorgeous bathroom - my 1 year old son was obsessed with the bidet and threw almost everything we owned into it!

    Some of the lamps in our suite (Abington) didn't work so we didn't have bedside lights on both sides of the bed.

    Good service, excellent food, pleasant public room ambience, parking off road

    In room 18 it was necessary to adjust one's physical position to select monochrome or colour TV. In view of a recent 60% price hike this should not be necessary. In addition to have only analogue TV and indifferent at that is way below the standard that the hotel achieves in other areas and charges for.

    Very relaxing quiet hotel, good food and courteous staff. Suite spacious, comfortable and well appointed

    6' bed was two 3' mattresses joined. Matresses were very hard and ridge where they joined uncomfortable to lie on - a 6' matress would be much more comfortable.

    "The hotel is a lovely old coaching inn, which has been sympathetically modernised to retain its character. The village of Dorchester is pretty, surrounded by countryside and is convenient of visiting Oxford, Blenheim Palce etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the White Hart to anyone looking for accommodation in the Oxford area."     The hotel was very clean and well maintained, The room was well apppointed with a good bathroom, the food, both breakfast and evening meal, was very good and the staff were polite and very helpful.

    My wife slipped over in the bath while taking a shower due to the bath having a very narrow bottom and the bath mat was unable to stick to the floor of the bath. She sustained a large bruise to her thigh. I did report this incident to the hotel upon our departure.

    Pleasant helpful staff - knew our room number so we did not have to keep telling them every time we ordered a drink or meal... it made it very relaxing. Gorgeous wood burning stove and log fires. Wonderful old-world atmosphere. Dinner Friday night was superb and lived up to the Rosette standard

    Can't really think of any.. except car park not adequately sign posted.

    sliding doors to exterior only allow you out between 12 midnight and 7.30 am the sign saying to take your room card was only diplayed on one door and that was from the outside. I got shut out

    Comfortable good size room with en suite. Very impressive coach house with nice decour,and good breakfast.

    very expensive bar prices! No bar/style meals, but available at other two pubs in village. No shower curtain-bathroom rather wet after shower use, and grout in floortiles cracked so assume water would eventually penetrate ceiling. bathroom extractor fan u/s.

    Food on offer was decent, and excellent breakfast. Hotel clean and staff ordinarily helpful.

    Bedroom window was broken and top was permanently open, so very drafty. Toilet door would not shut! Extraction fan in toilet VERY noisy - obviously on way out. Huge gap round room door, letting in bright light all night. Room door badly needed renewing. Quality of bedroom "furniture" - rubbish.

    Pleasant staff. Attractive hotel, with very nice traditional interior. Convenient parking. Pleasant village location. Very good food in the bar and restaurant.

    Room a bit small (awkward to walk around to the far side of the bed). Limited ventilation in our room (window not openable, and facing the high street), with no air-conditioning. (This was not a problem for us, as the weather was cool, but would be an issue in hot weather.)

    Excellent service and attention

    The room allocated although ideal for disabled persons, was adjacent to the outside smoking area for the hotel and therefore smoke permeated into the room. Fortunately a word with the staff had us moved to a more acceptable room.

    "We were really satisfied with the accommodation; the only thing I would have liked to know in advance is if there is an elevator for the rooms on the first floor. Our rooms (in a separate cottage near the main building) could only be reached by a steep stair so for people with walking disabilities it might be difficult to carry the luggage upstairs. But all in all we loved our stay at the hotel; the rooms and the breakfast met fully our expectations!" (97724818)

    "There is nothing negative to say about the hotel. Frienldy staff, nice building, great room, brilliant food - breakfast and dinner. Good beer (Black Sheep and Spitfire).     The room was great, the atmosphere in the hotel, the bar etc all worked well. Some of the staff were great.

    The food wasn't as good as we expected at dinner or for breakfast. Some of the staff were clueless and neither dinner nor breakfast were well organised with being seated etc.
