    Restaurant staff are very very young and hugely inexperienced - to the point of embarrasment. Surrounding me were a lot of single diners and I heard 3 complaints about the food. This is not good given the price of the food and the so called quality expected in a hotel of this stature.

    The bar and food was good.

    There were hairs on the bed that definitely weren't mine. Also my boyfriend saw crumbs on top of the duvet upon arrival. The bath was not very clean. The duvet cover seemed like it was overwashed as it felt rough.

    "overpriced and overated hotel although the function I attended in 1 of the rooms was good the buffet was A1 and the Alice room was spotless, my room was ok but the cutlery at breakfast was filthy dirty plates and empty wine bottles littred the corridors and were there over my whole stay, lack of toiletries in the room and an out of date TV" (97251179)

    bar staff poor, bar food prices expensive, dirty cutlery, poor quality coffee at breakfast, trays of food and empty wine bottles in corridors

    Well they have spent a fortune on the reception but the rooms are dirty, flaking paint rusty taps and well i would say 2 star accomodation a travel lodge tend to be cleaner and in better repair

    spotless room, comfortable bed, restaurant was totally spot on, perfect culinary experience.

    I asked to be seated somewhere quiet, but staff tried to seat me in a location that I knew would get noisy. better directions round the hotel would made a long day seem less so. I was not the only traveller to get lost wandering around such a large hotel.

    Colin the head Porter was very helpful, even took us for a tour of the hotel when we arrived. Everyone was extremely friendly and made our short stay memorable

    Staff were friendly

    My room was not to standard my bathroom was not fit to be used. eg the floor was very dirty never was cleaned, the showerhead was in such bad condition and dirty. the tiles had moulded. Infact its the worst bathroom i have seen in my 8 years of business travel.

    could not wait to leave in morning ( bed was good)

    nets in window dirty and around 20 dead flies in it ( you need blinds ) went to the village hotel in warrington for a meal 20 times better than this. cold breakfast delivered to room , news paper didnt turn up tv remote broke and mini bar had 2 bottles of bud only.

    Staff could not have been more freindly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent in quality and variety of choice.

    Some light bulbs in room not working. No remote for TV. No soap provided in bath room (did aquire some from cleaners trolly).

    Hotel venue was excellent; quality very good

    given twin room although clearly on booking form it stated double room. The Hotel said it was your fault as the message from your computer said twin room. I have contact activehotels and sought recompense. Hotel is providing evidence.

    Pleasent room

    Wrong room asked for double room had twin room. At 3 am the people staying above us were extremly noisy, could not get back to sleep for about 3 hours. I am sure someone must have complained about them but nothing changed and thier launguage was foul., banging on the floor etc.

    "We paid only £65 for the night and the standard of hotel is great. It is really near to the motorway and therefore gives good access locally to Manchester and Liverpool. Lovely place to stay, and they are great with children as we had a 3 year old." (97790069)

    Location, facilities, speed of service (room service and check in/out), staff friendliness, sky sports in rooms, good bar area

    Bathrooms, the area around the bath and tiles requires to be upgraded. The grouting and sealing, was brown and coming away.

    "Having stayed at the daresbury before I knew what great service to expect. The second stay which was 1st June 2007 was better because this time I experienced the spa and pool which was immaculate. Even though there was a wedding on friday night the staff were still very helpful to me and my partner when we needed them and didn't ignore us because we weren't part of the wedding party. They were very friendly, professional and efficient at their jobs. The room was perfect and the entire hotel was spotless top to bottom. It just gets too hot! Again for the second time I was very impressed with my stay." (99953954)

    The rooms were big and spacious which was excellent. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Having the facilities such as kettle, tv and en suite was impressive.

    Last tim I stayed at the daresbury it was unbelieveably hot, I'm glad a fan was put in the room this time as it shows staff have listened to complaints and have tried to resolve the heat situation as much as they possibly can. The fire alarm going off at night was a pain but it happens! The drinks are very expensive!!!

The desk was cluttered with a tea etc & kettle on a tray, a hairdryer etc leaving very little space to work and there was nowhere else to put all this stuff!     Great mattress, pillows and powerful shower....just what you need when you're away from home.

    I was initially given a smoking room when I had requested non-smoking and then there was a mix up with the key for the room...so checking in was not great. Also - the cooked breakfast wasn't good quality produce. No ability to control temperature in own room.

    Ease of access from main routes, however the satnav I had could not calculate a route to the actual hotel!?!

    Noise from easy access routes at night ... I live rurally and so this is quite new to me

    Pleasant atrium and garden. Friendly, helpful receptionist. Basic room but of reasonable size and fairly comfortable although very dated.

    Slightly down-at-heel feel about the whole place - most of it ready for decoration. Swirly carpets, scruffy, slightly dirty curtains, dated bathroom with grubby grouting - although bathroom itself was clean, as was the room.

    "Good, large hotel. Hotel probably needs a little renovation in places. It does get busy with business meetings etc during the week so it is very much a business hotel Monday to Friday. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. The security in the hotel and car park is good. The location is excellent for many locations as long as you have a car - near to the M56 which is a main motorway junction. Staff are friendly and helpful." (99382673)

    Location - Stayed here many times before when visting family in the UK

    room was a little hot (nmot normally a problem in the UK) and the rooms we were in was in need of a little updating

    "I would recommend the hotel over and over again. We personally went to the zoo, shopping centre and aquirium all so close. Staff were amazing very polite and welcoming. The breakfast was beautiful and all food was hot and new out even at 9.45 when we were up late. Definetly stay at this hotel." (99237241)
