    Staff were friendly and eager to please. Room was fantastic.

    view was not as described - supposed to have view of country side but had view of car park instead. Had to return meal as it was not quite cooked.

    We could park the car directly outside hotel, had pleasant welcome and manager was very helpful. Breakfast was good and staff were pleasant and helpful.

    None really, but extra pillows on bed or in room somewhere would have been nice.

    Excellent food, brilliant service and greeting, Lovely bed, up to date TV and all necessary utilities

    Traffic noise from the bedroom, howevere not the hotel's fault young people with music blaring but you get this everywhere and can not be helped

    On arrival we received a really warm welcome and were well looked after for the duration of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble!

    The hotel was very relaxed and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and the food was outstanding. We felt the hotel had great potential if a few things were tweaked also it was lovely to see a hotel that had not lost its original character.

    The music in the restaurant was disappointing. We had booked for a romantic evening meal but listening to local radio did not quite create the right atmosphere. The lighting was also disappointing as the candle at our table was low and ran out before we had finished the meal this appeared to be the case at every table.

    "The stay was very pleasant, we were extremely pleased with the customer service we got and the food was lovely. If I was passing by I would pop in just for the dinner. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay in this hotel again." (107624484)

    The staff were excellant, they were extremely polite and accomodating. The room was clean and there was a flat screen TV and dvd player. The town is just a short walk away and there is a Sainsburys close by incase you've forgotten to pack your toothbrush!

    The staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. Their knowledge of the local area and amenities was excellent. In addition, the food in the hotel was very good and of a much higher quality than other 2* hotels I have stayed in.

    The bar closed at 23:00. Although this done my liver many favours, I was away for fun and would liked at least another hour or so to relax.

    Large airy room, and a period-style four poster. Complementary bottle of wine always welcome. Comfortable lounge, and friendly, attentive service. Would definitely stay again.

    View of Sainsbury's carpark unfortunate, but with palatial drapes drawn,and glass of wine, who cares? Menu in restaurant not very inspiring in my view, so ate out. Full English for breakfast pretty good except sausage...why does everyone serve desperate sausages at breakfast?

    "Great place to stay for families. Staff very personalbe and very relaxed environment, but didn't affect the prompt service. Great place for biking, wished we had more time to explore the area, tracks are easy for most riders from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay, becomes more challenging when going from Parsley Hay to Carslington Waters and a few steep hills on the return through bradbourne. The free maps in cycle hire centre were good, but it was a little confusing at Carslington waters as all cycle tracks were 54a with no pointers to destinations. Would use the hotel again and keen to visit the area again. 4 x :o)" (107122291)

    Hotel was clean and very well organised. Service was friendly and prompt. Hotel staff could not do enough to help and went out of their way to accommodate any requests. Food at the hotel was well presented and very tasty. The family room we stayed in was spacious and beds were clean and comforable. The location of the hotel was excellent, we dropped our older children off at Alton Towers for the day (approximately 35-40min round trip), returned to hotel to collect our bikes and spent the day cycling along the Tissington Trail, which is easily accessable from the hotel... stunning scenery. Ashbourne is a quaint village, lots of alternative places to eat, a couple of supermarkets and a few high street shops mixed with local businesses. Met all of our needs.

    Nicely furnished rooms, although walls and ceilings were a little old.Seems to be some refurbishment ongoing. Nice quality widescreen TV.

    Helpful and friendly staff, good breakfasts,great central location for sightseeing yet retaining a quaint rural feel

    Set within easy walking distance of Ashbourne shops. Quiet location though it didn't look like it would be when we arrived. The guest sitting room is very comfortable and ideal when travelling with a party. The restaurant was fine. The rooms vary in size. we were in the four poster bedrooms which were adequate but not large. The bed was comfy, the bath lovely and long with plenty of hot water.

    Bedroom decoration very bland and didn't 'fit' with the 4poster bed.

    "The freindliness and the welcome of the Manager was a big plus. He was always attentive to our needs and made us feel at home. We were staying B&B but stayed both nights at the hotel for dinner.
