    Very clean and well situated hotel, 5 mins from stratford station and on the well lit main Romford Road. Our rooms were in a newly refurbished house adjacent to the main hotel which had secured parking. The full english breakfast was good and filling and they cook it to order. This is better than some 4* hotels I could mention in Swanage.

    None that I can think of except that we did book a family room for £60 but were given one half of the top floor of a house so my teens had a twin room with separate bathroom and my hubs and I had a double ensuite. This cost £92 but for the money was very good.

    The response from the reception / management was excellent and friendly - i particularly liked the unsolicited phone call giving us half an hours warning before breakfast ended. The secure parking was very reassuring.

    The room was a good size and tidy but very basic - no fridge and no toiletries unless requested. worst of all was the inclusive breakfast - i had mentioned in advance i was a vegetarian but on the morning was told there were no mushrooms or eggs or hash browns so my "full English breakfast" became beans on toast! Not good enough.

    "A good base for the weekend if you don't mind a 15 minute walk to tube station, but you can catch a bus/taxi. Good value for money." (107813718)

    Very helpful staff, good size bedroom for family.

    had to wait for breakfast table when tables in the bar area were empty but service very prompt once seated.

    "The Hotel is not located in the best of areas, but is clsoe to Stratford station which has good transport connections. It is a 15-20 min drive to the Excel Exhibiton centre. During the week the hotel is popular with builders for the Olympic Village. Overall very good for the price." (97936548)

    Very friendly staff. Reception called us to remind us that breakfast was going to close shortly.

    "It was very strange to be shown through the back of the hotel, down an alley to another road to access another building where our room was located. The room was pleasant, large and clean. Staff were pleasant but knew nothing of local bus services." (97105587)

    Very pleasant room when we eventually got to it.

    Not being informed of location of room in advance. The TV did not work.

    "I was staying at the hotel prior to running in the London Marathon the next day, which meant I had to get up at 6 a.m. Unfortunately because of the noise, I would hesitate to stay on a Saturday night again. I can only suggest that you take up the matter with the local authorities - assuming of course that the matter was reported at around 11 p.m. as the noise continued until 2 a.m." (97030722)

    Good value for money with friendly staff. Possibility of a breakfast at 6.30 a.m. - (see general review)

    Noise from another premises late at night until 2 a.m. The receptionist told me that the Counncil's Environmental Health team would be asked to deal with it. Whether they did or not I do not know, but the noise went on for 3 hours after I reported it.

    It was very spacious

    The shower and secure parking

    Cramped in need of upgrading. Only a hand towel and a bath towel for two people. Wall mounted television mounted too low. Hand basin in bedroom, bathroom impossibly small.

    The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had all the facilities required.

    The front approach looked a little dingy and there and decorating going on which made the place look at little untidy. The front of house rooms had rather a dated look.

    Hotel is currently undergoing some renovation - the bedroom was clearly newly refurbished to a good standard, and was very clean. Though lacking in choice, the breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty.

    The room was nice.

    The appearance of the hotel. I waws run down looking from the outside.We were taken from the hotel to a house to stay in. It was not part of the hotel, but it was a nice room.

    "The bar and eating area of the hotel looks quite old and may put some people off however we found the hotel to be clean and the breakfast in the morning was very good.     "The hotel was recommended by friends who had stayed previously and it exceeded our expectations. All the staff were friendly and helpful. After we'd arrived, the manager suggested switching one of the rooms, so that we could all be in the same building; this was very thoughtful. They were also happy to give advice on where to buy travel passes for London trains and buses, when the local shops were open, etc. The full English breakfast was very good. Generally, the atmosphere in the hotel was really pleasant, which makes a big difference to one's stay." (3304881941)

    "Am glad i read the guest reveiws and selected this hotel. Fortunately it turned out better than the reveiws i had read. Both the gentlemen (Bill's) were really kind, courteous and ever so helpful. The place has an extremely casual and homely environment with all the staff being extremely cheerful at all times. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and thats what matters when you just want to come back after a long day. The rooms were freshly cleaned and sprayed everyday. Over all the the stay was really pleasant. And If both the guys in charge are reading this then i would like to personally thank them for looking after me during my stay in London.     "On arrival - check in was fairly quick - then we were shown to our room. Our shower was cold or freezing and this was because the new cleaner had turned off everything. We were however given more rooms of the appartment. The following morning, the same lady who had shown us to our room was making breakfast. We are both vegetarians and the breakfast option was beans and egg. Nothing else. Overall the hotel was fair however would rate it as more b&b" (3304800631)

    Rooms were newly refurbished, good sized, peaceful at night

    Shower very strong and too high to adjust direction. Had to walk to main hotel for breakfast, but this will change in near future with new facilities in new part of hotel
