    "We would strongly recommend this hotel for its location, facilities, and the efficiency of its operation. Only three miles from the CBD, it provides a good alternative to a hotel in the city centre, which is currently (and disappointingly) in complete disorder. Excavations along the entire length of Princes Street, the heart of the city, will probably render it out of action for the next year or two." (107373338)

    Quiet location, with excellent bus service to city. Rooom comfortable, with good outlook. Internet connection and breakfast variety excellent. A minor point, but a good example of staff quality, the fried eggs at Friday's buffet were beautifully cooked - much better than those that had been cooked individually at previous accommodations.

    Must have been a different cook at the weekend - fried eggs were so hard that they should have embarrassed the staff! Constant problems with electronic room keys. No hotel airconditioning on very hot day. We were on the third floor, but lift only reaches the second floor.

    "Had a lovely stay, the room was big, and the bed was huge! Used the local bus service to travel into Edinburgh which took about 20/25 mins, but was frequent and ran throughout the night too. Staff were attentive and the food was lovely, especially the buffet breakfast. Will definitely stay again soon." (107445572)

    My address details were completely wrong when I checked in, though at least this didn't cause a problem. Main issue was that the room was like a fridge when I arrived and I had to sleep in thermals as it took so long to heat up! Rooms should be warm when you get there

    "A comfotable stay for an overnight business trip but would not chose as a longer stay. It was a convenient location for the company I was visiting but in hind site I would have booked a hotel nearer the City. " (107323514)

    Comfortable bed and ample toiletries. Good selection at breakfast.

    It's not the good points you should be worried about, but those that need looking at. The receptionist sent me to the wrong floor for my room. I came down to enquire and she again gave wrong directions. She then made a phone call to find out where the room was and finally changed my room to one where she knew the location. Breakfast not very hot.

    Shortage of toast at breakfast - probably the cheapest, most easily prepared and universally requested fare on the menu, but both mornings there were problems! Full amount not given on 'meal on us promotion'.

    "We had a great weekend and would return to this hotel. The fact that the bus service is so convenient means that you don't mind being a couple of miles outside the centre and this hotel is far cheaper than the city centre hotels of the same standard." (107248655)

    The hotel has had a refurbishment and the rooms we stayed in were of a very high standard. I think some rooms are still awaiting refurb but are still of a reasonable standard. If you want to go into the city centre, there is a bus stop next to the hotel - the bus takes about half an hour to get straight into edinburgh city centre. The bus runs from 7.30am - 11.30pm. Whilst at the hotel, we also used the gym and pool, which are another great facility of this hotel.

    There is only one small lift so it is better to take the stairs if possible.

    Good sized room, everything in room OK

    No aircon and place was stuff as windows did not open a lot! No bar fridge, and being a diabetic would have been handy for my insulin!

    We booked a double room only to find on arrival that none were available. We were given a twin room for the first night then moved into a double for the other 3 nights. A small discount was given to us.

    Friendly staff. Good standard of room in original room I was assigned.

    Late night events created noise throughout half of the hotel. I asked for a quiet room on my booking and found myself sitting on top of a sixth form disco. i changed rooms but they could only find a lower standard family room. Food from the hotel restaurant was not great - although this is only on the basis of two meals. I did not pay for breakfast.

    disappointed in that we ordered early breakfast for 6.30am as we had a flight to catch.breakfast did not arrive and I phoned reception to be told it would arrive shortly-but it did not.when we checked out i raised this and was asked if we had booked breakfast this was with the person who took booking.it is vary disappointing as we had to spend a further £9.00 at the airport for the breakfast which we had paid for at the hotel.it would be nice if we could have this refunded as a goodwill gesture.

    Big bed, big TV, free fruit

    Free wine was rancid, remote didn't work, were told that it was unlikely that our room would be ready by the given 2pm check-in time, luckily the receptionist was able to upgrade us to a different room

    "Had a but of difficulty finding the Hotel with the directions given from Edinburgh Airport. Liked the rooms, very modern and extremely comfortable with good breakfast. We arrived late and had to leave first thing next morning so didn't check out the leisure facilities." (97315761)

    WE liked even more the accommodation 'cause when we arrived at reception, the lady made us an upgrade, so we were accomodate in a superior room. We apprecciated so much because we had our bags lost by the airline and we were a little up set and this made a big difference....thanks

    "Before booking this hotel I would have liked to have known that there was pool/leisure facility on site. To my recollection this was not mentioned in the description provided by the partner website, and as a result I came unprepared and thus unable to use these facitlities. However, I don't feel it hindered my enjoyment of the hotel or indeed the quality of my stay. I am very happy to have stayed in the Edinburgh Capital Hotel, and would definately recommend it to friends and I would stay there again if I need to be in Edinburgh in the future. 10 out of 10!"     Clearly a lot of thought went into making my stay very comfortable. The room was exceptional, especially considering the low cost, the staff were more than helpful on numerous occasions and the hotel on the whole was beautifully presented.

    Nothing. It had everything I needed for my one night stay.
