    excellant location, good staff, food good.

    lifts not the best, rooms too worm at night, fixtures a little tired booking online : once you book online you are locked in to paying something even if you cancel. the charge should be a standard charge & a lot lower.

    "We wanted to experience Bath and see the sites, this hotel made it extra special!" (108351583)

    Quiet area yet easy walk to the centre. Large rooms and comfy bed. The internet deal was much better than the rate if we had walked in off the street. The breakfast was lovely and fresh.

    A bit warm at breakfast. It was a sunny day but the dining room was sticky.

    Room Clean and Breakfast Great

    Checkin was not the best with lost room key, and the room was very small and extremely cold and noisy from room above, NO SOUND PROOFING.

    Comfortable bed; sufficiently serviced bathroom; good breakfast food/ choices; a first class hotel in a first class environment.

    Staff don't ask for ID's when asking for room key on returning to hotel! Could be problematic in terms of staff rota's. The staff member who checked you in is not always at the reception desk when you leave/ return to the hotel!

    Clean, very good location and good breakfast.

    No bar in hotel which was not made clear and taking a deposit was not clear either. Expensive for what you got but guess you are paying for the excellent location.

    " We enjoyed our stay at rhe Carfax and we have no complaints. We would have liked to have an evening meal but unfortunately they did not serve an evening meal on a weekend" (107724934)

    We were only booked bed and breakfast. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices.

    Only problem we had was being on the front of the hotel, it was very noisy on the Saturday night. It was made worse because it was very hot at night and we had to leave our window open.

    "It's great to pay that sort of price and not only be in the centre of Bath, but also get what you would expect (but rarely get) from other hotels: friendly staff that are generally helpful; clean and well-maintained furnishing/facilities; and a large and bright room." (108542502)

    Clean hotel, brilliant central location, furnishings were not shabby or dirty and room was a good size and flooded with natural light. Staff were polite and generally attentive. Although I didn't bring a computer, there was internet access available throughout the hotel, via their encrypted Wireless LAN. They also had a computer in the lounge for guest use, although while we were there it was being repaired.

    Nothing was particularly bad about this hotel, however there were two little niggly things that they could improve: Firstly, two members of staff were extremely dozy and although they were friendly and tried to be helpful, dealing with them was like pulling teeth (although the rest seemed very efficient). Secondly: in the dining room, a single short (Beethoven, I think) piano piece was on repeat; over the course of a single breakfast it would loop over 5 times which does jeapardise one's sanity.

    "Our experience was a good one, with a comfortable room and friendly staff. Our room was on the top floor, probably one of the smaller doubles, best described as cosy compared with some. The car park was a bonus, not huge but we had no problem parking. The breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order (good quality food) with friendly efficient service, in a pleasant dining area.     Friendly, comfortable. Location convenient for stroll to town centre. Excellent breakfast.

    Double bedroom & bathroom sizes (on top floor) rather compact for the price.

    Good public rooms, welcoming staff, excellent ingredients at breakfaset, good choice of tea in room.

    Breakfast chef seems to deep fry everything so lovely inggredients were rendered very greasy and unpleasant.

    Beautiful room. Most staff helpful and friendly.

    Not allowed to check in 1 hour early. 2 fire alarms in 24 hours. No bar. No ffod in the evenings.

    "My cousin and I like to get together once a year in Bath, which is roughly equidistant from our homes. This has been our best trip to date." (97875846)

    The Carfax is very central and ideally situated for all the local facilities. The ability to use the car park is a huge plus point. Excellent breakfast.

    "Not much really, the website description was accurate and gave the information we required. The important thing to us was that the hotel location was central to Bath and that we could park the car within the hotel grounds in order that we could walk to the Pump Rooms to attend a seminar. We had the option of some cheaper hotels but decided to avoid them. We know that Bath is an expensive area for hotels but decided on a middle priced option to hopefully avoid some of the horrors we have experienced previously - we made the right choice." (97087224)

    We were concerned that we might have experienced general noise at night from the street but this did not materialise. The room was clean and bright with adequate facilities.

    We found the room very warm even with the window wide open and therefore found it difficult to sleep but we do not apportion any blame on the hotel - it's just one of those things.

    "The hotel is well situated for the city of Bath, but for the price we were disappointed with the room and facilities. The lack of bar was very surprising and after returning from dining out at 10pm, wanted to relax with a drink but were unable to do so. The staff were friendly enough, although we didn't see much of them. Breakfast was very good, although the waiting staff did seem to have difficulty in realising that we had arrived, and kept us waiting for some time before taking our breakfast order." (97106147)

    It was clean, and the breakfast was good.

    Room and bathroom were small. There was no bar available and no drinks to take to room at 10pm.

    "Wonderful staff. Very attentive. Big freshly cooked breakfast included. Hotel very central, without being noisy, just a couple of hundred meters into the centre of town. Lovely old Georgian terraced building; gives great flavour of Bath. Free safe parking worked for us but I guess you might be unlucky if hotel very busy. Nice to just forget about your car as you do not need it in Bath as everything is within walking distance. We found the hotel clean and comfortable and very good value. This is the fifth time I have stayed here over about 25 years." (97214640)

    "A welcoming, friendly place, well located. Despite decorators being in we were not overly troubled by them. Room was on top floor and we valued the exercise of using the stairs though could have used the lifts! Breakfast was good quality and ample. Rooms was well decorated and comfortabel if a little small (top floor attic type room as standard double) and with sloping floor which was a little disconcerting. Hotel is run by the Salvation Army (but in no way is this at all obvious)-a fact we feel important as we like to support social enterprises whenever we can. Lack of drinks licence explained by this, but this was not aprobleme for us as there are plenty of local pubs and restaurants etc." (97433782)

    Friendly and efficient staff. Staying in a social enterprise - helping a 'not for profit'. Great breakfast. Excellent location for City sights.

    Would have liked slightly larger room. Car parkinga bit tight but once in a place we were able to get to all the places we wanted to on foot.
