    Friendly staff , room clean and tidy as one would expect lovely rural setting but not too far from two large cities . Overall an excellent stay and one that I would recommend to friends and family.

    Close to venue,£15 in a taxi the staff were helpful in arranging taxi. The breakfast was adequate.

    The room was shabby, but clean, the shower was mouldy and parts were broken, the towels were very old and discoloured but nice and soft. The proprietor was very pleaseant but one staff memeber was a bit surly. There was little choice for eating out in the evening and is was very dark to walk there as there are no street lights

    "I am an author and always need somewhere where I can chill out and have a creative atmosphere in which to write. as always mr and mrs malloy were exceptionally kind and attentive to our needs and the icing on the cake is always the delightful, yummy english breakfast.     Friendliness of the staff - food was good and spotlessly clean. Rooms were very comfortable/clean and nothing was too much trouble. A really warm welcome - I mean the people and the rooms were warm and comfortable too.

    warm, clean and a comfortable atmosphere, friendly hosts and a good breakfast

    A more powerful shower with consistent temperature would be my only complaint - but it wasn't that bad really - I'm used to a super-duper one at home that's all!

    location for local attractions was fine. breakfast meal very good and as ordered. no restrictions on time of breakfast. parking was fine. room was adequate and warm enough for time of year

    the bed could have been more comfortable. would have preferred the shower to be in the same room as the toilet rather than in the main room

    handiness for the event we were attending

    the bath in the single room was not working but this was not mentioned when booking in. The railway is closer than expected although the trains didn't cause a problem the work being carried out between 1 a.m and 3 a.m DID.

    "When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the proprietor. He explained that his wife was out for the evening so there was no facility to have an evening meal (We would have liked to have known that when we booked as we were expecting to be able to eat at the guest house). He did however tell us where food was available locally and told us where we could locate the local pubs, one of which served a good selection of real ales which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. On Sunday morning before we left, the proprietors spent a good deal of time talking to us about their guest house which is set in the grounds of an old railway station. They were really friendly and although they were very busy, they did not appear to be in a hurry to get us out." (97096919)

    The room we stayed in was basic but adequate and comfortable. There was plenty of choice as far as beverages were concerned with teas, coffee, cocoa and Horlicks available. The bathroom was huge and there were plenty of towells. The shower was old but very powerful and the water was hot, not tepid like I have experienced in some hotels. Although the furnishings were a little dated, the guest house was comfortable, warm and in pleasant surroundings. This hotel included full english breakfast in the price and the breakfast was excellent.

    Maintenance trains ran on the evening of our stay but the last train went by about 10pm. No trains ran on Sunday prior to our leaving at 10.30am.

    Very clean room. Owners very helpful and pleasant. Very good breakfast. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room not limited to 2 cups of each as in large hotels.

    Slight noise from trains but what do you expect the name of the hotel says it all.

    "Arrived very late - about 1145pm - but were greeted by proprietor in friendly manner. Shown to room which was well furnished but a little cramped. Access to en suite down rather steep steps.
