"Bonne impression générale. Je n'aurais pas réservé de chambre dans cet hôtel si je n'avais pas eu de remise car je trouve le prix beaucoup trop élevé pour la taille de la chambre et l'aspect. Good impression all together. I wouldn't have booked a room in this hotel if I hadn't got a discount (60£ instead of 125£) as I think it is too expensive for the size and the general aspect of the room." (108489439)
Accueil sympathique, chambre propre. On peut arriver tard. Nice welcoming, room was clean. You can check in late.
Indications pour l'hôtel sur la route difficiles (pas de panneaux dans le village), robinet monté à l'envers (chambre 3), on entend les gens du dessus marcher, prix normal de la chambre (125£) beaucoup trop cher, pas de sèche-cheveux. The way to find the hotel can be difficult (no road signs on the way, or in the village for example), one of the tap in room 3 is the other way round, you can hear people walk in the room above and the floor creaks, the normal price for the room is 125£ and is too expensive for the size of the room, there is no hairdryer.

"We originally chose this hotel as central Bath hotels that sounded nice were either full (due fringe festival) or they looked unappealing. This hotel stood out in description + did not disappoint. We had a great 2 night stay here." (107887087)
Room decor was exactly as described online. Best room we had on our 18 day UK excursion. Very good decor+very clean. Loved the huge bath w/roll top bath+shower+nice amenities pack. Nice hot shower/bath, Thank you! 4 Poster bed wonderful w/comfortable mattress! Overall room decor predominantly antique w/tasteful colors in soft furnishings. Stayed in rm 1 (dovecot)in rear of main building. This room has stairs from a landing so not for the less agile. Dining/lounge rm also good decor. Good brkfast options..liked the salmon w/eggs. Service of breakfast + front desk very polite and helpful. Assistance was offered by front desk when europcar failed to deliver our car hire. This hotel is quite near Bath, situated approx 1.mile to nearby Bradford rail station, then quick rail to central Bath.
No bad points really. But would recommend that if you stay here do ensure that you have a good local road map + directions for finding the hotel by car in the dead of night.

Clean room, very helpful at reception. lovely 4 poster bed and location
Room a bit small for more than one night , bar staff need to be a little more happy to be there and shower not very powerful.

Was not your standard 4 walled hotel. Rooms had a unique quality.
Carpet in Bedroom could do with replacing.

Very cosy room, lovely meal and friendly and helpful staff.
Room decor was a little bit tired and the TV was very small. I found it difficult to see from the bed (though this may be because I'm used to one the size of a fottball pitch at home)

The shower did work very well. When turned on cold tap it came out very hot.

"First appearances on arrival not good, looked run down. Accomodation over furnished and cluttered, water pressure in shower low. room service meal worst ever received, cannot even cook basics such as fries, and took 1 hour to deliver to the room. " (108087080)
The quality of the food served was very poor, we have not had such badly cooked food served to us in the whole of our visit to the UK, on a 3 month trip, staying in many types of accomodation from B&B in York to a 5 star Hotel in Padstow.

Very attractive, particularly on approach; good staff; food quality excellent.
Miserable shower in room 8; cold water in washbasin runs very warm (not pleasant for cleaning teeth!); nowhere to put washbag contents in bathroom; extremely expensive bar (didn't see a tariff before ordering a glass of wine, but clearly I should have asked); management system didn't allow for payment of alcohol in cash at the time, nor for it to be invoiced separately (would have thought this was a need for many business guests); found all the masses of cushions and pillows a bit of an irritation (where to put them when using the bed?).

Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful location and comfortable rooms. The food was of good standard. Good internet connectivity and a real feel of a family run country hotel. It's the sort of place to which I would have no qualms in bringing my wife for a weekend away. My one night business trip stay did not allow me to give it full justice!
The television in the room was out dated and temperimental to turn on. The menu was a little limited. But what I ate was very nicely presented and tasted great.

"The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to assist us and make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The only down side was that the restaurant was closed as there were insufficient guests on the Monday of Spring Bank holiday to warrant opening...which was a shame. Dinner at the hotel would have been good, especially as the weather was so horrible. But it did not spoil a really good, comfortable overnight stay." (97553745)
We had one of the little 'cottages' at the back of the main building and it was gorgeous. We were so pleased with the accommodation.

"I was pleased to find a hotel within walking distance of Trowbridge station,and then pleased to find the place had a great deal of charm and charater. Reception wasn't easy to find, but once there I was expected, welcomed and well looked after from then on. I arrived fairly late but was still able to get dinner. Service was excellent and the dining room again had loads of the old world charm that I just love. The bedroom was comforable, with lots of facilities and the only thing it lacked was a well lit desk area." (97848733)

Very comfortable bed, quiet room with view over open field, ample parking near the room. I was offered the choice of an upstairs room but the hotel felt so safe that I did not feel the need.
Slightly cramped by the amount of furniture (but the oak-framed bed was very comfortable!)

Peaceful location and very comfortable. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
Not that it spoilt my overnight stay or would stop me booking again but I missed a proper shower. Not used to a bath with hand held shower attachment.

"This hotel was both comfortable and charming. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful and always present when required. The food was devine with a good choice of menu both breakfast & evening meal.Our room had every amenity and was not too hot with beautiful furniture & furnishings. "After checking in which was good, I went to my room with my luggage and then returned to reception to use the WiFi in the residents lounge. I was taken outside again and to a door that was locked so we had to wait until someone heard us knocking to be let in! I asked for a coffee which never came. After going out with friends in the evening I returned to the Hotel at 10.20pm to find the bar closed. Next morning I had hot water only in my room which is clever I grant you, and when I arrived at breakfast at 8.45am I was told that had it finished at 9am. I pointed out the time and then was served. At best I would say this was a good B&B but an extremely avaerage Hotel." (97949811)
The accomodation was fine but the accessability to areas within the Hotel was complicated.
Both taps in bathroom sink ran hot water! The bar was shut on my return at 10.20pm.

One member of staff hadn't turned in on the day we arrived so they were a bit hard-pressed. Even so, we were warmly welcomed and service was fine. We were surprisingly upgraded to a larger room than we were expecting. Set in a separate block from the main house, it had windows to back and front with very pleasant views, extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation with every facility.

"The hotel is a quaint old buliding with the decor to match. The room was a little small and the doorways would not suit a tall person. The facilities were acequate but the television was quite small and old fashioned with no text. The bathroom was OK but a shower curtain would help and then a proper shower could be had.
