    room was cold, no heating was on, requested heating to be put on, staff member reluctantly put the heating on, we were very disappointed by this

    "It was a lovely hotel and we were very pleased when we were upgraded to one of the nicest room sin the entire hotel, however, it does state it is only a mile from town to walk but the walk would be far more and very difficult/dangerous to undertake.Would have been nice to have the hotel take us into town for the inclusive spa day we paid for with the package."     Would have been nicer had they served breakfast fro slightly longer periods so a lie in would have been possible otherwise the hotel was lovely!

    Excellent customer service

    When we voiced our concerns we were compensated. The hotel just needs updated as we felt it is not a 4 star hotel with small details overlooked etc.

    "Generally, I would recommend this hotel to people for a short break in Bath. It close to town, yet far enough away not be in the centre of the hustle and bustle. We found a nice restaurant within walking distance which did excellent food. All in all a lovely break and would definitely visit the hotel and Bath again." (97355505)

    The staff were very helpful and accommodating when advised that there was a slight problem with the room?s facilities and attended to the issue immediately. All in all, a very pleasurable stay and I would recommend this hotel for a short break.

    The only downside to the hotel was the lack of pressure in the shower. Nonethless, I guess this is to be expected when you stay in a hotel of this age.

    The quiet!! I was able to get 2 good nights sleep, which judging from the number of young people out, about being noisy in downtown Bath on both nights, might have been impossible in a more central hotel.

    I'm afraid the whole precious atmosphere of being waited on in hotel breakfast rooms is not for me. I much prefer a busy cafe, with really good coffee, an apricot croissant, nice music and newspapers (The Guardian!)and not the unhealthy full English breakfast. So that's a dislike about the hotel experience in general, not this particular one.

    Clean, comfortable,tidy, good location and DIGNIFIED. The staff cannot be improved, they were excellent - particularly one who was charming.

    A little too much furniture for no purpose i.e;- table and stool in window,attractive but unuseable.

    "The fact that there is no restaurant for evening meals is not made particularly clear on website which implies that there is a restaurant on the grounds although not part of the hotel. In fact it was a 15 - 20 minute walk away and is no longer part of the hotel group. The board outside hotel also states evening meals available which is not true, unless you count a sandwich as an evening meal. Both my sister and I thought it was very overpriced for the facilities available. However the Manager made our stay pleasant and the breakfast provided was fine. Bedrooms comfortable although bathroom could do with an update." (97950653)

    Having a separate room for the children & plenty of space in the rooms.

    The fact that we got woken up early on Sun morning by a lot of walking noise above us which we worked out to be staff getting the breakfast ready.

    "The Hotel was clean, friendly and had a nice atmosphere compared to bigger chains of hotels. We booked the Therma bath Spa through the hotel but when we arrived the vouchers were not there which was disappointing. If anyone wants to book a massage at the Therma Bath Spa we recommend you book several weeks in advance as it gets very booked up." (48574358)

    The hotel was small which was nice as it kept its charm and friendly atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome and the breakfast was good value for money setting us up for the day ahead.

    The shower was very small but clean.

    "A very relaxed hotel stylishly decorated and furnished,obviously owned by someone who knows what they are doing. They have recently installed a PC with internet access in a small room just off the main sitting room, a very handy addition. Secure parking is very convenient just outside the main entrance."     Very good sized room decorated in period style in keeping with the age of the hotel,good attention to detail and excellent views. Enjoyed the breakfast. Very handy for Bath if you are coming from the east side.

    It's a pity the bigger rooms don't have baths just showers but it's not the end of the world!

    We arrived at the hotel and our room was allocated but no bath, even though the room was supposed to have a bth included. Luckily mother -in-law was staying at the hotel with us as a single occupant and her room had a bath. Also the room had an slight infestation of lady birds (20 or so) on the inside and all around our window. We informed reception and they sent a cleaner with a Hoover to clean them out.

    "More of a lovely, historical manor house than a cookie cutter hotel. The 4 poster Jane Austin room was elegant and charming in every way. It felt luxurious--soft robes and slippers provided. Great location for visiting Bath since the bus was across the street and 5 minutes to city center. Breakfast was excellent, and they even prepared a room tray for our daughter who slept in. Unheard of! Internet available. Extremely pleased with surroundings and service. Amazing value." (99122479)

    "friendly welcome on arrival.available facilities i.e residents lounge,breakfast room and hotel bar all pointed out.although not relevant to us as only booked for bed and breakfast evening meals were provided at the nearby, 10 mins walk, old mill hotel. the staff were only too happy to book a table for us one evening and the meal was excellent, overall a very good experience and we shall be returning for another visit" (3305180681)
