    None whatsoever

    Overpriced, shabby,small room. They even have a surcharge for fish at breakfast. One of the worst places we have ever stayed.

    Great bar - very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast although it took a while to arrive! Great location near the coast

    A little "run down" in places. Mattress was very firm!

    "We were visiting friends south of Haddington so I looked for affordable accommodation in the area - Duck's at Kilspindie came up and matched our search. It's the first time we've booked on line without prior recommendation from a friend." (97499903)

    We liked the homely atmosphere. We were in Room 38 which was very spacious and comfortable. The food was special.

    "On arrival we were advised when breakfast was served and given directions to our room. The room contained everything I would expect but I had to call reception to find out where the iron was and there were no instructions on the phone in the room as to how to do this. The bathroom was fitted with a spa bath and an overhead shower, I tried to use the bath but the plug appeared to be broken and I was unable to get the water to stay in, the shower head was very dirty, however, worked. The towels were clean and there were plenty of them. The breakfast was excellent and was the highlight of the stay." (97891583)

    The room was spacious and in a nice village location.

    The fittings in the hotel (except the TV) were old and tatty.

    we had the best room in the hotel with a four poster bed. The hotel was much smaller than those that we have stayed at before and gave a familly feel to it

    the only thing that i could have complained aout was the breakfast. wether us welsh are greedy i dont know but it was very small and ony one teaspoon full of beans. all the geusts were moaning about it.

    "Staff very pleasant and efficient, slight problem booking in at reception as the young male receptionist seemed unsure about the booking. Breakfast very good and honeymoon suite was lovely." (3304498581)

    Had problems on second night with noisy residents at 4.00 a.m. bit next day the hotel receptionist dealt with the problem quickly and efficiently and moved us to the honeymoon suite for our next night

    Only the noisy residents, but the hotel did apologise for their behaviour and was going to speak to them.

    Nice location, very clean, clean atmosphere - non-smoking areas were non-smoking areas, friendly staff, good menu. Providing an iron and ironing board was a plus.

    Room a bit small, slightly cramped, compared to others I've occupied for the same price.

    Clean and comfortable room and bathroom

    The welcome from senior members of staff was less than effusive or warm. By contrast the young foreign bellboy/waiter was charming in his approach and manner.

    "Price here, is no indication of quality of service, friendliness, attractiveness of location, etc. The room and beds were comfortable - in a pleasantly old-fashioned way. The bar food was ideal for a family - excellent quality, not just usual pub-grub. On the second night of our stay, we eat in the reastaurant because the only table in the bar was near the only smoking area. They were happy for us to mix and match from any menu. Aberlady is very attractive - as are many of the villages around and there is a mass of things to do and see - Sea-bird Centre, Beaches, Castles (three within half-an-hour drive) Museum of Flight and Concorde and Preston Mill - working water mill. It would also have helped to know how easy is was to get to from the Forth Bridge, using the City by-pass. Overall one of the best three day breaks we have had - we will definitely go back and would use the same hotel again." (3304210668)

    This is not just another soul-less hotel. Friendly staff, relaxing for both adults and children, incredible value and excellent food - again for both adults and children. Where do they get the haggis and black-pudding?!?

    A slightly bigger room would have been good, but we had our eight year old son on a put-me-up in the room. Some family rooms for such a family friendly hotel might be a good idea.
