    We really enjoyed are stay here so much we have booked again for Dec

    my only critisim would be the breakfast on sunday the blackpudding was sp over cooked was like a brick however they redeemed themselves on monday morning

    Bed very comfortable

    Cord on kettle was not long enough to reach the socket and pour out water. Had to pour out water at floor height as socket was at floor level.

    Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The bar snacks were delicious. As a single female traveller, I felt comfortable enough to be able to sit in the bar for a meal at dinner time without feeling awkward. Free wifi throughout the hotel is great when travelling on business.

    No bad points really. The only thing was that there had been a glitch with the internet booking system, so when I arrived at the hotel there was no record of my booking. However, it was resolved extremely quickly and with no fuss. I suppose some of the decor looked a little jaded, but not too bad.

    Rooms nice and warm when entering, clean, nice bed linen and generally good. Excellent breakfast although only 1 member of staff serving but she coped admirably with number of guests a credit to you.

    The power shower would not work on either the Saturday evening or Sunday morning although both myself and partner tried it and left it running for ages on full power. It was definitely faulty although we have now been assured by Ian Gelling that it was due to us not putting it onto full power as the safety/anti-scald device came into operation, I do have my doubts as we both put it onto full power. My partner did mention it to a member of staff on the Saturday evening who happened to be in the corridor and they just pointed out that it was down to the number of guests present!!!! I also informed the receptionst prior to checking out and asked if it would be possible to have a discount but she was not able to issue this and gave me details of the person responsible who I contacted a couple of days later by e-mail and Mr. Gelling replied and has offered us a reduction/upgrade if we stay again at your hotel in the future.

    Room was very good and well equiped and staff were friendly. Resturant was good in that the chef was only to pleased to create a veggie meal as there was not a lot on the menu (fish is not veggie although it was marked as the veggie option).

    Room was good value for money. Parking area good. Very pleasant and relaxed in the bar area.

    Extra pillow plastic wrapped with extra blanket - and only one extra pillow. Only one 'goodnight' mint for a double booking!!!!

    "Ein gerade noch brauchbares Zimmer mit einer sicherlich ehemals sehr schönen, leider völlig zerschlissenen Einrichtung, ein viel zu weiches Bett, eine unfreundliche Dame am Empfang und Mängel in der Sauberkeit (nicht mal eine WC-Bürste war vorhanden!) treffen auf ein stilvolles Hotelrestaurant, in dem motiviertes, freundliches Personal tolles Essen zum Dinner und noch besseres Full English Breakfast serviert - da fällt das Abwägen schon schwer. Insgesamt für mich dennoch eher ein unterdurchschnittliches Hotel - und dafür sind die Preise dann doch ganz schön happig." (97279887)

    "Shabby, uncomfortable bed, no hot shower water, no wake up call, dangerous cracks above bed, Dinner - mussels bad, steak cold (although replaced on request). Long haul to room and to restaurant. I would have liked to know that room required refurbishment and was so far from everything. Also that it was subject to extreme noise from delivery lorries at 4.00 a.m keeping us both awake!!"     All the staff were friendly very helpfull and talkative, the hotel was kept very clean and the food was delicious, all in all an excellent service.

    Welcoming Bar

    Kettle Lead far too short. Try pouring into a cup placed on the table. Heated Towel rail not working. Could not get the hair dryer to work

    The reception staff were very helpful. Great English Breakfast.

    "The stay in the hotel was comfortable and clean.Fortunately our stay was to viit family who live only 3 miles away,if we had been on a leisure trip visiting Manchester and surrounding areas we would have had a problem coming in and out of the hotel because the parking facilities for the hotel, function rooms and restaraunt are inadequate" (97474242)

    The staff were excellent and professional.The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was superb.

    We had a problem with parking outside the hotel as there was no room on both nights.With functions going on next door there is not enough room for hotel guests to park.We were told by the night porter to park on the busy Oldham to Ashton main road outside the hotel on the first night.Instead we stayed and watched our car outside the reception for 2hrs until the function was over and visitors started to leave.The second night we left our car outside our families house and caught a taxi to the hotel as we knew there was no room and did not wish to stay up half the night for a space as we had a long drive to Stranraer on Sunday morning.

    The room allocated was clean and bathroom/shower facilities were adequate

    Our stay was during the weekend and we were of the opinion that the nearby car park was busy throughout the night and there was a continuous flow of noisy guests through to the early hours of the morning the last being 4am and constantly hammering of guest room doors.

    The hotel was very clean and ,I thought , good value for money , the room was excellent and well kept and very comfortable .

    The bar prices were a bit over the top and not everyone likes al-a-carte menus.
