    Booking process was easy and postal confirmation appreciated. Check in process was welcoming - luggage was taken from the taxi, we were greeted with smiles and given all the information we needed to make us feel at ease during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable (as was the rest of the hotel)and extra care had been taken to ensure we had all the requirements of a relaxing personal space. One small problem with a shower curtain was quickly rectified. Staff were excellent-well presented, welcoming, knowledgeable and informative with ready smiles and a sense of humour. Overall the stay provided the perfect end to a brilliant holiday

    Very friendly staff, Excellent room and view. Good food

    None serious. Alrhough directions are given from the "Tesco Rioundabout" the map does not indicate where this is. Clear on arrival there,but not before.

    Everything, save the weather, was excellent. We felt pampered and enjoyed the facilities very much. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, the food was lovely, and the room very comfortable.

    "I would definately stay again. Great location being 5 minutes away from the train station and the steep hill did not put me off. I did think it was very good value for money, especially the breakfast. Great breakfast room and fun staff!" (108067312)

    Very relaxing, lovely views over the water; enjoyed having a laugh with the staff especially over wine!

    The bathroom was big and very clean. However, there was a leak for two out of my 3 nights. I did point it out to the cleaning lady and she said she would contact maintenance. It seemed to happen mostly in the mornings. Experience tells me it could be the toilet. Other than that the room was very comfortable but a little frumpy (average for England).

    - Fantastic gardens, pool area and view over the bay. - Very friendly restaurant staff. - Nice new bathrooms with good showers.

    - The smell of cats in the reception, lounge and hallway areas was very strong. - No air conditioning so rooms were very, very hot.

    "My room was physically quite adequate - it was a cheaper room as I was arriving late for an overnight stay only - but even in a budget room one should be able to sleep. The room was quite hot but when the window was opened the noise from the kitchen exhausts and staff talking outside kept me awake. In addition, when the window was open, the smell of food cooking was very strong. The noise went on quite late interfering with my sleep." (108075789)

    "My husband and I stayed for our anniversary, the resturante was excellent, staff were polite, helpful & friendly. The overal ambience of the resturante was faultless with wonderful food,I would recommend this hotel to others. It was worth driving 300 miles for the evening that we had. Thankyou." (97785517)

    The pleasant, friendly ambiance made a stay very enjoyable with an excellent resturant.

    The room was smaller than i expected, but pleasant with a nice view.

    I enjoyed everything - very friendly staff and the food was simply excellent at a very good price!Hugely enjoyable!

    If I had to dislike anything O would say that my cheaper single room was a little dowdy although the bathroom was very nice.

    "Hotel Penzance is a lovely hotel. The staff are helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. We really enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful restuarant and if we come back in the summer we will make good use of the outdoor pool. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel." (97776601)

    "Residents' lounges were very comfortable and afternoon tea was a welcome and relaxing unexpected addition. Service and food quality in the restaurant was excellent." (97284156)

    Wonderful sea view; furnishings and bathroom appeared to have been recently re-fitted. These were stylish and comfortable

    We were only staying for one night; storage space was a bit tight for people staying for a significantly longer period. I was grateful that my husband carried my heavy bag up the stairs. A lift would be a useful addition.

    "I stayed as a in a single room -- a rather odd shaped bedroom adapted very charmingly, with a view of the sea and a fabulous bathroom. The staff (evening and morning) were helpful and efficient, with just the right balance of formality and friendliness. The terrace outside the restaurant is also a lovely place to sit with a good view of the harbour. The Bay restaurant, on the other hand, I would not recommend at all --overly 'genteel' service and ill conceived food concoctions that are supposed to be impressive. mediocre selection of wine by the glass."     "This was purely a stop over before catching the helicopter. We were pleasantly surprised at the high standard of the accommodation, service and most of all the restaurant. Especially in the restaurant, attention to detail to ensure a happy customer. The stop over became the start of our relaxing break." (97602674)

    Comfortable, friendly and made to feel important as a guest.

    Minor build up of dust behind loo in bathroom if you want the truth. I am very fussy though!!

    "The location of the hotel was idea for what my stay was for. Though the lack of parking was a major disapointment as it was a rental car that I had and leaving it on the side of the road was not the most ideal thing to be doing. Also the fact that there were two cats walking around the hotel I thought was against health and safety as it was not stated on the website that there would be two live in cats on the premises, I found it wrong that no notifaction was giving with regards to this and find the whole experience very unnerving."     I liked very much the view from the bedroom as it had a see view and the idea of the robes and biscuits in the room was very thoughtful.

    Cats, I despise them and there was two in the hotel.

    The hotel rooms are well equipped clean and comfortable. The view from the room in which we stayed is lovely as are the gardens. The dining room is well positioned and the service good. The food was tasty, interesting and well-presented.

    It was very easy to find. The public rooms and the bedrooms are extremely comfortable and decorated in an attractive contempary fashion. Thomas the cat is exceptional and a real bonus!

    There is an excellent menu for under 15's. But was disappointed to be told at 9pm that this was no longer available as children don't normally want to eat at that time. I thought my children (both 12)were normal and they eat when they are hungry!

    "We wanted a weekend break to unwind after a busy time. We were pleased to find somewhere at relativel short notice. Everything went well , we were received very well and made use of the tea break after a very slow trip .Room was excellent ,also food ,and staff were very helpful and attentive.     Little to complain about -shower was tricky insofar as there was no bath and the water ran across the bathroom and onto clothes on the floor. car parking was tricky but no obvious solution to that
