The Hotel is clean, staff are freindly and helpul, in general, and the facilities offered are satisfactory.
On this particular visit we had a phone call about an hour before our departure from home to say that the hotel had over booked and could not provide the room we had agreed on the Thursday night. This was depite the fact that we had booked several weeks in advanced and telephoned the week before to confirm that the groundfloor room required, due to my wife's disability was available and allocated. The lady charged with sorting out their mistake was not very helpful and I finally had to speak with the Manager to reach an agreement. The whole matter was upsetting and in our veiw unnecessary. We do not understand how or why this happened when our booking had been made in advance and accepted by the hotel.

Staff efficient and friendly. Hotel comfortable and not too noisy.
Unfortunatel a smoke alarm in a room went off at 3.00am Monday morning and the hotel was evacuated, but we were not kept outside too long and the staff soon had us back in our rooms.

The staff on reception were very efficient at finding us a room for the price we were quoted on the internet after being told our reservation had not been made.
When we arrived to check in we were told that no reservation was made under our name or under the reservation number even though I had the confirmation to prove our booking. When we did get checked in the room was so hot we could not sleep however we could not open the window as it was then too noisy. Room did not appear to have been cleaned very well as there was broken biscuit on the floor.

Difficult to find any, we appear to have been moved around this was the third hotel after our original booking, saying computor crashes and both over booked the rate was £30 higher than we could have booked this hotel over the internet, possible the best part was a free newspsper
Where shall we start. Notice at reception saying that we might get no hot water good start. Outside weeds growing in carpark. On our return at 11.30pm people complaining that no heating on, saying it was a Head office decsion to turn heating off. Went to room all of sudden heating came on and for the next hour it made knocking sounds. The windows were dirty. In the morning at 6.30am turned the shower on just Hot water no cold unable to take shower as you could have been scalded. Just no cold did complain on check out and a strange offer of a complementary shower??? The breakfast why can't you similar to premier lodge ask what type of eggs you want the scrambled eggs look like powdered, the toast under a cloth with heat lamp above just made them disgusting soggy.

Staff very efficient and friendly.Liked the bedside reading lights.
Grouting around bath needed a good clean and shower curtain was a bit grotty. Breakfast wasn't served until 7am so as we had to leave at this time we could not take advantage of our 'free' breakfast.

Good decore in double room/Twin room. Good breakfast Very helpful staff
Bathroom in single room poor/tv poor but we upgraded so fine. Bathrooms rather old fashioned.One room cleaned before we checked out! Cooked breakfast food not topped up quickly enough.

location good, easy to find, staff pleasant and helpful, room was spacious, warm and comfortable
windows did not appear to be double glazed, as I was a lone female and my room was on ground floor, I was a bit concerned about security. Also, doors used old-fashioned keys, as oppose to electronic locks. Although, I paid extra for a newly renovated room, I felt the bathroom could have been cleaner. There was mildew around the bath.

Only comment against the hotel was that it was very cold no heat was on at the time of our stay. Even with the radiator on in the bedrooms it was still cold but otherwise an very enjoyable stay.

Hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The renovations made to the hotel since our last visit have been completed very well. Food in the restaurant was hot, tasty and served efficiently.

The room was perfect
I and my colleague were charged for cooked breakfasts we didn't have and I did not realise this until I got home. I shall check the bill more carefully next time! The service in the restaurant was very slow and three times I had to ask about and then for my vegetables.

Cheap hotel this reflected in the decor etc. Easy to find from road network. Food excellent chef went out of his way to get what I asked for, and recieved the praise he deserved
Bill a mess on booking out, and was only there 1 night, tried to make me pay more than bill was. Lots of dogs in hotel at the time.

Very efficient running of the place. Excellent breakfast included in price, varied evening menu, very polite and friendly staff.
Radiater was not turned on in preparation for arrival and room took many hours to warm up.

The picture looked good of the hotel.
The inside looked like it was set in the 70's, the rooms were very dirty (ie blood on walls, hairs in sink, stains on bedding), the noise from the kitchens came through the rooms from 6am - 10pm, the staff were unable to help as 'The Manager Was Not Around' , restaurant menu was limited , breakfast was served in the pub area.

Good breakfast and clean rooms
I have never seen so many staff walk past us and not acknowledge us with a simple hello or i won't be a minute. To boast you have a restaurent is a joke when you only have Soup of the day as a starter and on our second night we even had as a choice chargrilled chicken in a burp i think that sums it up completely

service was uitstekend, de kamer was mooi en schoon, het hotel was makkelijk te vinden. De prijs was zeer goed, de maaltijden erg lekker voor een hele betaalbare prijs.
Ik heb het als zeer vervelend ervaren dat je alleen maar met een credit kaart kunt boeken, aangezien ik zelf geen credit kaart heb, heb ik de kaart van mijn zus moeten gebruiken. Ik ging er van uit dat het hotel al betaald was bij aankomst, maar dit bleek niet het geval te zijn, op dat moment was het allemaal een beetje onduidelijk en heb ik een aantal ( dure ) telefoontjes moeten plegen om te controleren of de kamer inderdaad niet betaald was, en omdat ik alleen maar reis met het geld wat ik nodig heb, had ik dus een groot probleem, ik kon het hotel ter plekke niet betalen, en heb weer een beroep moeten doen op de credit kaart van mijn zus. Al met al een vervelende situatie.
