    The beds were terrible, you could feel the springs through the mattress. When we arrived they never had our booking from active hotels.

    No bar snacks or places to eat after a certain time. eg 11pm onwards.This is for guests who check in late or have been to a concert/ show.

    "A once proud hotel needing investment to encourage voluntary booking to return, the commercial guests will return because they probably don't have a choice. We do and we will not be returning. Beyond which we will of course explain to any contact we have of our opinion" (107602640)

    Indian food in bar good

    Breakfast: The quality of raw food products - Breakfast sausage, Black pudding, cheap and tasteless, certainly not a local butcher's offering. Room: Of the three light bulbs in the bathroom only one worked. Back of wardrobe loose. No valves on radiator to turn the heating down. Matress and divan require replacing. The firm edge matress no longer has a firm edge and the occupant of the right hand side of the bed tends to roll out of the bed.

    not very much to say that was good about this hotel

    noisy till late at night locals used the bar as somewhere local to drink very rowdy people coming and going who where not staying at the hotel, could not get to sleep at night because of noise from the bar food was rubbish, microwave chips and cardboard fish,

    Food was good in the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast was excellent but over priced.

    No heating Radiator broken and no hotwater for first day. Free internet service was later charged for. The girl at the counter said"its only 2 pounds"....since when is FREE charged at 2 Pounds.

    Angenehmes schottisches Ambiente, Frühstück gut, Restaurant/Bar gut.

    "I liked the hotel and enjoyed my stay." (107679758)

    The hotel is in a quiet location only a fairly short drive from both Glasgow and East Kilbride. The room was clean and comfortable and I enjoyed my breakfasts. The staff were always friendly.

    I wasn't expected for breakfast the first morning. However, a decent breakfast was quickly prepared and because of the initial oversight I wasn't charged for that breakfast.

    food and wine excellent, plenty of it and inexpensive served in bar.

    maybe bar could be open to guests a little longer --- say 1.00am. however bar staff were flexible and kind and closed at 12.30am. we never got in to hotel till 11.20pm after attending concert .

    "If you are looking for a fair standard without paying over the odds then this is ideal. Not much in the way of facilities but represents good value for the business traveller when compared to the Holiday Inn down the road which was over £100 a night.     Quiet location, small but clean room with good facilities. Bar area was a lively place, not for the faint hearted

    There was ample parking, staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast, which was served in the impressive main dining room, was excellent.

    The room decor needed an bit of care and attention. It was somewhat bare and lacking in character i.e. no wall pictures. The TV channels were not programmed in properly, and there was no teletext. The main dining room was closed and only bar meals were available in the downstairs 'pub' section of the hotel.

    "The breakfast was the main disappointment. We would have thought that it would be cheaper for a breakfast to be provided to order rather than the wastage which would be evident from our visit for the nights of Monday and Tuesday. Also in the refurbishment of the room, we used two tea bags and two nescafe coffee sachets on Tuesday morning, these were replenished but there were two extra decaffinated coffee sachets provided even though the originals had not been used. The first night we used the two plastic glasses from the bathroom for our night-time drinks and for me to take tablets in the morning but these were taken away and not replaced for the next morning."     The room was comfortable and the bed very comfortable. Very convenient, close to relations.

    The breakfast was not to the standard that we would expect. The scrambled eggs were dry and cold. There was no toast available at the buffet and no marmalade could be found anywhere. We arrived for breakfast between 8.30 and 8.45, breakfast was to be served until 9am.

    "Reception OK. Dinner in noisy bar but the food was good. Wine chosen was unavailable but suitable alternative was offered if a little cool for red. Breakfast was truly awful. Hot food buffet was stone cold and unacceptable. Bread was stale even before toasting. No marmalade on offer. Staff looked as though they were dressed for going out rather than serving breakfast.     Close proximity to meeting venue

    Poor bed: uncomfortable and narrow. Small bathroom: shower weak and curtain rail coming off the wall. Noisy from inadequate sound insulation between room and corridor and room/room. Lift worked intermittently and was too old to be reliable.

    "The Busby was sold off during our stay. The staff were demoralised and fearful of the future. The breakfast was poor, no evening meal in restaurant only in bar. The hotel is tired and needs revitalising. Well located and still with reputation, I hope the new owners restore it to full service. And, I wish the staff well." (99662541)

    Unable to rouse night porter, left in the cold and rain for ten minutes, tired decor, noisy floor boards.

    "The hotel was fine but the noise was very bad from disco. The train was very near into Glasgow." (99854836)

    Relatively new decor and facilities were good.

    There was a loud disco until 1AM very unacceptable level of noise, apparently happens most Fridays and Saturdays! Be warned.

    Rooms were clean and warm, friendly staff, excellent bathroom, good food in bar, and nice atmosphere.

    Car parking limited during day with conference people filling spaces.

    Quiet room, once the hotel air conditioning was turned off

    Very small room. TV did not have channels shown on card in room. Only one place to eat, in the bar. No separate restaurant as shwn on website. Overpriced room.

    "Although the distance from the train station to the hotel is listed there should be an advisory about the number of stairs necessary to climb in order to reach that station. This would not be considered handicapped friendly for anyone who has any type of mobility problems. Anyone with disabilities needs to inquire about height of showers and general access issues specificaly before booking. On the whole it is an attractive small hotel. The manager is a friendly and hard working chap as is most of the wait staff. The place is clean and though the menu is fairly limited the food is good." (3304894253)

    Cleanliness and overall frendliness of staff. Also the lift.

    I had no complaints about the actual hotel.

    Staff very helpful and friendly - brought breakfast to my room at 4.00. am. not many hotels would provide that service. I liked the 'pub' atmosphere in the bar, not like some of the souless synthetic bars you find in many hotels. When in the area again, I would come back.
