    "Very dissapointed with hygine of the hotel and lack of general attitude, never asked when checking out did i have a good stay." (108428745)

    No good points.

    Staff not helpful, when trying to check in curt and un responsive manner ,taking some other persons enquiry whilst checking me out.The room was very dirty, total covering of dust for the 3 day stay, and some other persons old cotton buds lying under the bed for the duration of stay.

    Rooms clean and tidy. Restaurant and bar very nice.

    Booked a twin but given a double! (two male hetrosexuals) Took a while to sort out where I was eventually given a extra single. £3.75 very steep for a pint of Bellhaven.

    Staff were very friendly and,despite being busy weith bus parties,fairly efficient. When service was slow one lunchtime, a discount was offered on that meal charge.

    Ours was a newly refurbished room but others in our party, occupying single rooms, were disappointed in the decor and general state of the accommodation.

    central location in Pitlochry. v. pleasant gardens. roomI waqs finally given was warm and pleasant with everything working. staff were v. helpful.

    I arrived during the renovation of the hotel and my reception was chaotic - av. poor room with no key !!! Finally manager changed my room and I was quite satisfied but breakfast room was rather dingy !

    Friendly staff and excellent entertainment provided on Thursday night - a very pleasant surprise. Despite a power failure at 10.15 pm, at no fault of the hotel, we enjoyed the novelty of the moment.

    None - we understand that when a hotel is under repair, there are certain disruptions, but we need to take them all in our stride.

    Hotel very central for town. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Hotel in midst of renovation, so some areas were in a poor state. Definitely in need of an upgrade as general decoration required freshening up, as well as modernisation.

    "this has nothing to do with thr robbery that took place in early hours of Saturday morning - the hotel is tired and weary. I noted in the bar area that a special offer was being promoted that was cheaper than the £98 I paid - Iasked if I could get this rate but was told no - given the state of our room, I was disappointed to say the least !"     As we arrived by train, this was our choice of hotel as it is next to the Station. Breakfast was excellent. The entertainment (Caravan) was very good indeed.

    The bathroom was in very poor state of repair and decoration (cracked floor tiles and black mould). The carpet in the bedroom was badly stained and worn. Earth wire to radiator in bathroom was loose and this fact was reported to Hotel Reception as it is considered highly dangerous. Whilst there is a warning sign that the water is hot, this is an understatement as, in fact, it was almost reached boiling point. This was also mentioned to the Hotel Receptionist but she did not seem to understand the point I was trying to make. I already knew the Hotel was in the process of major repair/refurbishment so I was under no illusion as to what I would find on arrival.

    None due to refurb work. Work not seperated from with guests.

    Refurb work caused to many problems restricted parking and dust etc through corridors. Breakfast was cold and did not appear to be freshly cooked.

    cant think of anything that was good about the stay, was glad to get away in the morning

    work being carried out that we were not made aware off, have booking form to say could book in after 3pm but on arrival was told to go away till after 4pm reception staff not very helful or friendly

    "In general we had a very pleasent stay at the Fisher's Hotel. The Staff were very freindly & helpful. The hotel itself will be a very nice place to stay once building work has finished (expected in the spring 2009) & the place returned to its fomer glory." (107583687)

    Staff where pleasent & polite. Food was really good. The hotel is set in centre of town in very nice location close to railway station it also has a very nice garden(Shame we picked a wet weekend to visit).

    Rooms could do with better heating facilities. The hotel is currently surrounded by scaffolding (although we realise the hotel is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment). Only limited parking.

    really nothing sorry was really disappointed

    Really wasnt impressed at all, the receptionist failed to get off her chair at any time and when asked for a bill at the end of the stay appeared not to understand what we were asking for. Again never moved from her chair or give adequate explanation why we were charged £40.90 for a meal and one round of drinks When we had a two course meal which according to your menuu was £13.95 each and drinks bill 0f £7.oo. When we arrived the whole building was surrounded in scafolding and green net. How wonderful!!!!

    "The property was under (badly needed) renovation, which was NOT disclosed at the time of booking, nor on any of the property/booking websites. We were very unhappy to make this discovery when we pulled up to the hotel, but it was obviously too late to make other arrangements.     Nothing,It was like a buliding site as it was undergoing renovations, which we were not informed of this.

    Tiles were coming up in the bathroom, very little heating in the rooms, reception staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful, didn't even tell us what floor our room was on. Were going to refuse my credit card as it was not a UK card. No offer to move to another room when we were not happy with ours. Paid for Bed and Breakfast, but the breakfast was expensive for what you got, the staff counldn't answer any questions regarding the food, ie grade of milk and egg products used not real eggs, which you were not told about ! Also no shower, but when booked it said every room had a shower.

    Location. Pleasant, comfortable room.

    I said to my husband - I bet you that's our hotel covered in scaffolding down the street - and it was! A bit disappointing I guess, but understandably necessary in the quieter months.

    "Quite difficult to find! We might have been told it was the building covered in scaffolding. The entrance is nowhere near the railway station (as implied in directions). There was significant damage by rot and mildew in the bathroom, and floor tiles were cracked. The TV had very poor reception and was unwatchable. Told this was the case in ALL the rooms in the annex and the problem was being looked at. The overall impression was of an absence of a policy of basic interior maintenance. Dinner menu gave little choice, meal was disappointing and grossly overpriced. Never before in any hotel have I been made to go away and wait for my breakfast. On the positive side we did find the staff very efficient, hard working and friendly. They deserve better senior managers." (97675381)

    Poor standard of maintenance, even the TV did not work. Meals were disappointing.

    "The hotel was better than I'd expected. The room was what I would describe as a typical business room, but the furniture was in good order, the beds clean. The maid service was a bit hit or miss. We were cleaned at about 4.00pm one day and our friends did not have a visit at all. There were a lot of one night stays and this seemed to cause the problem. The staff were excellent from breakfast, bar to cleaners. We didn't dine in the hotel so have no opinion on that." (99381244)

    "I have said all i wanted to say in the above box. i would have liked to have been informed that we were not getting the room we had asked for and that we would be kept waiting for breakfast in the morning." (97549186)

    comfy beds,tea and coffee in room lovely veiw of gardens.

    we asked for a doubble but due to floods got a twin but was not warned of this or offerd any compensation. the staff did not seem to know what they were doing there was no one in reception when we first arrived and we constantly had to seek out information rather than being approached i feel the staff could have been a bit more hands on. On our last morning we were asked to check out by 10am when we had requested a lie in and when we went down for breakfast had to wait 40 mins to be seated.

    "On the whole, my short stay at the Fisher's was very enjoyable and I will probably be visiting again, soon. I can understand that, when first built, hotel guest rooms were significantly more basic than modern expectations allow. The single room I stayed in was adequate for a short stay, but I couldn't help thinking that a modern shower cubicle and washbasin could probably fit in the space of the current bath (with fixed shower head), giving the rooms a more 21st Century feel. Of course, part of the charm of the area is its Victorian edge, but I think travellers whom are more used to modernised hotels may be disappointed by some of the hotel facilities and qualities, and I feel it is in need of refurbishment in certain areas."     The property is conveniently situated in the centre of the town, is handy for the railway station and has adequate car parking (although the car park was a little crowded). The rooms are clean and staff pleasant and efficient.

    The accommodation has a fine olde worlde character to it, but this seems to extend to the worn carpetting, threadbare and taped in places.

    Efficient, friendly and helpful staff. A large pleasant quiet room.

    On arrival,although our room was on the second floor,we were advised that due to the layout of the hotel, it would be easier to walk up rather than use the lift, which only went as far as the first floor. In spite of this and the fact that we are elderly, there was no offer of help with our luggage. Fortunately, we are both pretty fit!
