    Clean

    staff quite cool, not at all welcoming. we had dogs with us for Lanark champ show so requested full english in room which we were tols was no problem however, next morning there was no full Eng breakfast available (short staffed!)we had to order continental and most items we requested were not available. very unsatisfactory in this aspect.

    "enquired before booking if they provided room service which they said they did. Checking in we again enquired as above, reception gave a number to ring to order. Then informed later they do not serve a traditional breakfast in room service only continental.We were told to leave the card on the door to be collected during the night , next morning card still on door, Husband had to take card down to reception to hand in eventually breakfast arrived ie continental ..half the items were not available ended up being toast and coffee!! Very dissapointed as we had a dog so did not want to leave her alone in the room . Will not book again ." (107580496)

    Well mannered staff, clean room and en-suite

    Evening meal service had finished when we returned to the hotel just after nine pm but we weren't told about this!

    Very welcoming at reception a very nice lady.

    Breakfast quite bland, warm due to being a buffet style service. Breakfast started at 09:00 we ate at 09:15. Toast hardly had any colour. No staff around to ask for assistance. Deep clean needed around bath due to age of silicon

    overall the hotel was fine. The duty manager ( the young lady from Singapore ) was very polite and she should give the mornning staff a breafing on how to welcome guest.

    could do with a fresh coat of paint on the outside. the mornning/breakfast staff was were very dull, they could do with a good shaking. I made a complaint to the reception due to the fact that it happend all three mor. all thats needed is a smile and a warm welcome.

    Room comfortable and clean. Very good bathroom, plenty of towels and hot water

    Staff a bit slow attending to guests at meals Could do with more choice on main meal menu. Breakfast was not has hot has it could have been and was served on cold plates.

    Hotel staff were friendly and helpful the hotel out-side of the room was of a good standard and clean.

    I had dinner in the hotel on the first night and i could not eat it it was of very poor quality and i did not eat there again. I was too tired too complain and went to my room to bed hungry.

    Reception and the bar staff on the first night were welcoming and friendly. The facilities and cleanliness were good

    Saturday night the bar closed at 22:30hrs.We were informed it was company policy to close if there were less than 10 people. As a party of 12 returning at 22:40hrs this was very annoying and evidence as to why so many businesses are failing. 6 people may spend more money than 20 people. Customer service should be the first priority. Sunday morning breakfast was another example of the lack of customer service, having sat down at 08:45hrs then having had to go and look for staff we eventually recieved our breakfast at 09:50hrs.

    Receptionist was very friendly and helpful 10 out of 10. Bar Staff very friendly and interested in who he was serving 10 out of 10.Room very good value.

    Reception at breakfast was poor.

    The hotel was clean and welcoming. The room was comfortable. I had an evening meal in the restaurant which was good, particularly the mussels with chilli.

    Breakfast was a nightmare. There were not enough staff to keep up with the orders and the amount of customers. People were having to wait 30 minutes just to be served and juice and other items ran out and were not replenished quickly enough.

    Not too expensive

    1)Not child friendly as such. No extra cot is available as claimed on website 2)No satellite TV as has been mentioned on the website 3)Room is too cramped even for two adults, but I guess thats what you get for the relatively low price you pay.
