    "Took advantage of a late discount on an executive room - a really excellant deal. Hotel is a bit out of the way but it suited me perfectly. Would recommend." (108753282)

    Room - Reasonable size, clean and well equipped. Staff - restuarant manager in particular was a real star. Car Parking - lots of and free Food - Delicious

    "Having booked online we were intrigued to see how the hotel suited us. The price was fair and on the low side of those others we had looked at so we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. It has the benefit of the Golf course as a setting but inside we were again pleasantly suprised. We had a bar lunch and were very impressed with the food and also with the young chap who served us and Breakfast was also excellent both freshly cooked, well presented and swiftly served. We were sad this was only an overnight stay." (107538292)

    The only problem area was that the day of our stay was very warm and the fan in the bedroom struggled to keep a reasonable temperature.

    The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was of a high quality.

    The website had said that the executive room had bathrobes in and it didn't. It was overall less luxury than I had expected from the site. Also we couldn't find a reference to the last time for breakfast in any of the in room literature - we made it down 2 mins before the end by chance, but this meant we had limitted buffet choice and no place settings.

    Location, grounds, parking Seal was playing as background music, best thing about the whole time spent there!

    Extremely poor service, mainly lack of staff everywhere, long waits to be acknowledged much less served! Long wait in bar. no one to seat us at brekfast, so we left without eating! Quality of food at dinner, poor. Check out... man at desk made no eye contact at all, left us standing while he carried on with his phone call, we just left our key on counter top and went somewhere else for brekfast even though it was included in our package!

    Beautiful setting and grounds - very peaceful. Bar and food very reasonbaly priced. The price (compared to usual rack rate) was good and I would be interested to find out whether other rooms are of the quality shown on the hotel web page - that is the ONLY reason I would currently choose to stay again

    Room probably allocated to 'cheap' late room or similar bookings - carpet stained, chair stained, bathroom dated and would benefit from deep clean.

    "The canned music was awful. I hate canned music, especially at dinner in the restaurant when I'm tired after a busy day. I am willing to bet that many guests complain about the canned music - normally, the defining mark of a poorly run, cheap hotel. The hotel's management should get rid of it." (97100768)

    Room quite large and adequately equipped. I was pleased to note that W-Fi was available and a trouser press. I rate both as important.

    Decorations throughout the hotel were delapidated and in need of re-decoration.

    Clean, new, spacious. SKY Sports in the bedrooms - a rarity at this price level.

    Gym is very dated, needs refurbishment.

    "This is a good hotel in an excellent location. The hotel is very nice indeed and right next to a golf course. So you can sit and have breakfast whilst watching the golf. The room was spotless, the staff superb and the service and meals were excellent. We have tried several hotels in the locality but will definitely stay in the Coulsden Manor from now on." (97046466)

    "Our stay there was really excellent. I have to say it is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in in the UK. The staff were so pleasant and professional and made us feel really welcome. The facilities on offer looked good, we didn't actually play a round of golf or use the spa but it was nice to know the option was there. We treated ourselves to some room service, as a treat, the service was excellent. we would definately stay there again. I would definately recommend Coulsdon Manor to friends and relatives.     "When I originally booked I did ask for an upper quiet room as I was on a intense course and wanted to have sufficient sleep, but I was assured the first floor was quieter, we then had to be moved because the heating wasn't working to a room a couple of doors down and found it really noisy as it was close to the bar and staff cupboard."     Lovely room we had to be moved as there was no heating in the first one, we were moved to a disabled room.

    There was a lot of noise from the other guests and unfortunately the staff cupboard was next to our room.

    The gym - very good

    I had to work through much of the night and was woken by cleaning staff in prolonged lively conversation right outside of my room. The do not disturb sign did not work! Very annonyed.

    "Having left England over 25 years ago, this hotel had the look, feel and smell of something traditional and nostalgic for me. However, having travelled quite a bit since leaving, there are certain standards that one comes to expect and unfortunately the hotel fell down on some basics - mainly on care of interior. The staff were friendly and helpful. An interesting scenario did happen - I needed something the hotel didn't have - the suggestion was to walk +/- 1.5 miles or catch a bus in an area I don't know, to get to the nearest shop. Alternatively I was told to order a taxi - but they don't take credit cards, I had no UK money left, and the need didn't merit the cost. I would recommend it to people who want a bit of nostalgia, come by car and are not overly fussy about their accommodation." (97574579)

    The staff, restaurant & grounds were nice,

    I had a broken door handle, the roof tiles in the corridor were sagging down and i thought the overall decor of the hotel was dreary although the restaurant and food served was very nice.

    "We had three rooms at your hotel on Tuesday 11th April.The hotel was excellent, however our experience in your restaurant was unbelievably bad. We booked a table for 20:00 for 5 people. I went into the restaura twice to check on the staus of our table but could find no one to talk to in the restaurant despite the fact that there were about 10 people dining.We eventually were given menus in the bar and proceeded into the restaurant at about 20:30. Our meal was served at about 9 oclock. It was less than satisfactory as the steaks were badly cooked and the lamb was very pink and very fat-My duaghter could not eat it. We complained to the manager who decided not to charge us but really all we wanted was a good meal. The manager seemed to be preoccupied most of the evening at the reception desk.     "I arrived at the hotel early in the morning, well before the check-out time. The reception staff politely informed me that no room could be acessible to me. I then went to the restaurant to have a cup of coffee and to take a rest after long hours travelling. The restaurant staff treated me with free coffee and toast, which really warmed my heart. The location and environment of the hotel is excellent. The room size and the bed a bit small, particularly when the room charges were amongst the highest in the area." (2603870)

    The staff is generally very friendly and nice. The surrouding environment is excellent. The restaurant provides good food and excellent service.

    The tennis court obviously requires to be refurbished.

    "The Brasserie was next to the bar and although there was no smoking in this area, smoke from the bar was very intrusive. We ate the brasserie menu in the restaurant as a special concession. The food was not particularly well presented or prepared given the overall price for 3 adults and one child (c. £70.) I think that if you are a golfer it is good value, however if staying for any other reason, the hotel is pricey for the facilities and general standard offered." (2639794)

    Location was convenient.

    Decor in the rooms was a little tired and beds not particularly good, given the price per night. No children's digital channels were available.
