    Food, general ambience.

    Pitch and putt golf course masquerading as a proper course, with dress code for proper course meaning we couldn't use it.

    Staff were extremely helpful and polite, room was spacious and extremely clean. Leisure facilities were of a good standard and our evening meal at The Lodge was superb- can not fault the place!

    Beautiful setting...loved the gardens, golf course, Gazebo where breakfast was served. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient.

    One suggestion for King size bed, please consider using one mattress and not two small ones as may be rather uncomfortable at times.

    Great hotel for a weekend away. Staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you. Food was outstanding. Nice relaxing area, great pub down the road for lunch. Would definetly stay again.

    My partner had a spa treatment and we were charged twice, made a phone call and was refunded without a problem.

    "A very pleasant place to stay and I will definitely be going back if we return to the area. The price was reasonable because we had a spring special which was half the regular rate. Would be a bit pricey at the normal rate." (107352314)

    The location is peaceful with walks around the lanes passing farms and a castle. The room looked out on the golf course which was lovely. The room was big and the bed firm. The hotel provided an ethernet cable and free internet access. The restaurant looks out on a very nice lake with ducks and a heron.

    Nothing really, except a sink that drained very slowly.

    Super hotel - would happily recommend it. Staff were very courteous and attended to many details overlooked at other accommodations

    None - the only bad thing was not spending enough time at the hotel to make full use of all its facilities!

    "I thought the service from all hotel staff was excellent. We used the tennis courts and pool and had no difficulty borrowing tennis balls. We could also hire DVDs for the children which was a huge help as it allowed us to have a wonderful dinner, after the children ate in the bar area. The grounds were stunning; I only wish we could have stayed longer (so I could have used the spa!) even the children have demanded we come back." (99367613)

    We had a very spacious family room which had lots of facilities including an ironing board. The double bed was huge and the children's beds were also of a high standard.

    Room was clean and tidy

    There was a large wedding party function at the hotel and areas of the hotel were sectioned off, including the bar area, in fact was nearly assaulted trying to get a drink , even though we had been informed by a staff member that we could order drinks from the bar. Ended up staying in our room and having to use room service.

    Room was reasonable size and comfortable for a family

    Allocated room part of the leisure centre rather than hotel, so a feeling of being put as far away from other guests (or those without children) as possible!

    "On arrival there was obviously a wedding on which meant most staff attention was placed on this. On veiwing the room it was seen to be small but clean. I have stayed in some superb hotels around the world for business and pleassure and im affraid this does not rate near any of the good ones. I always like to stay in Johansons hotels but this time very disapointed. I ordered a Champagne night with no Champagne which was very disapointing i had to call dow to reception at 9pm to request it..." (99167056)

    It was clean, comfortable with everything we required. With torrential rain outside the swimming pool was very welcome.

    We were unable to ask for a twin room rather than a double on the booking site.

    "The check out time is a touch to early we felt we had to rush to get out of room. The resturant staff were very welcoming and one gentleman did not catch his name was very friendly and professional. When there are weddings on we would be restricted from using the outside area to sit and relax due to the seats being booked by the wedding guests. The main bar not able to serve us due to staff preparing for the wedding and ushered to the sports bar which is not really contry manor style. More pictures on the web site of the grounds and lake they are perfect for a morning stroll although check out time caused us to cut short the walk." (3304798717)

    "the location was very nice and it was nice for me and my wife to get away from city life to celebrate our first anniversary at this hotel. initially the price was reasonable because it came with complimentary champagne and spa facilities. first impressions were excellent and ideal for a relaxing time. when checking in we were not told where the extra facilities of the hotel were and when checkout was or anything at all and only told the directions to our room, which i thought was dissapointing. the hotel was immaculately clean and of a very high standard. very good spa facilities and the whirlpool in the hotel garden was just perfect. overall very good and would recommend to anyone."     the accomodation was very clean, fairly spacious with decent size bathroom and a nice view of the hotel grounds

    the first thing i noticed as i walked into the room is that it was quite dark because the window was very small

    "We visited Ardencote at a very quiet time (just after new year) and received a very competitive rate. As very few people were in the hotel at this time we were virtually given a personal service. The staff could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A real break to remember, and what a way to start the new year. Highly recommended." (3304077457)

    I took my wife for a short break (5 nights) to celebrate her birthday. The facilities were excellent for both of us particularly the spa, the golf and the magical quality of the food being served
