    Very friendly

    Not much atmosphere in the pub. Put everyone together on a big table in the morning and then we can start talking to each other

    The hotel was comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent.

    My only petty grumble would be; we were given a room for the disabled which had an en-suite bathroom which was fine however, the sink was designed for a wheelchair occupant, very small and low to the ground,and was a struggle to use.

    Good Food (Nothing Special) Attentive young staff provided good service, rooms were well fitted and up-to date, good decoration. FREE wifi access was a great asset to me. You pay £5 a day at a Travellodge, and that was a major consideration when booking.

    Booked an 8am Breakfast because I needed an early start (it was a business trip) at 8AM breafast room was locked. We were let in at 8:05 service was slow and poorly implemented, staff were offering covers to all the tables, no idea who ordered what. The table next to us were french guests (I understand French) Despite ordering in Good English two of then got the wrong sort of eggs! I eventually got my bacon and tomatoes 45 mins later. This delay is not acceptable. Guests who wish a prompt departure should order breakfast an hour before they wish to depart! Room six (disabled) is on the ground floor, right next to the entrance door, room fills with smoke from the smokers who puff away just outside the entrance, and is noisy. Upstairs rooms are preferable. Charged £10 for two creme brulee's which were possible the worst I have ever eaten. Could have done better myself.

    Very clean and organised room.

    No hair dryer but when pointed out one was brought immediately. Room very cold but when pointed out heating was put on immediately.

    "We were up in th area for a downhill bike race, this is the second time we have stayed in this hotel.The first stay was excellent and the second stay was as good as the first.We were a little late going down for dinner and it was no problem to the staff we ordered and the food was served.Would reccommend this hotel."     Attentive staff. Good breakfast. Clean room.

    Damp smelly bathroom. Cold room - had to sleep in a jumper! Was meant to have a double room but had a twin. Meals expensive for what they were.

    Very friendly staff. Hotel with history, which I like. Good (and prompt) service at breakfast (particularly important to me), dinner and in the bar.

    As I was delivering training at another hotel at the far (southerly) end of Galashiels, Clovenfords was a bit far away for my early morning starts, but the service and the geniality more than compensated.

    Easy to get to. Good parking facilities. Very cheerful employees. Food excellent. Just what a good hotel should be like. Would definitely stay there again.

    Free view TV...Was unable to watch normal terrestrial TV i.e CH4 and CH5.

    "The staff were excellent and very friendly, they gave a warm welcome and unlike some other hotels we were actually shown to our room, (this is extremely rare these days) which shows the standard of the staff is very high. Your website covers everything anyone would need to know before making a booking, which also was a first rate process, it left no unanswered questions. The room was very warm upon arrival, but the heating system reacts fairly quickly when you turn it down. The food in the restaurant was excellent, a very balanced choice/selection, the only critism in this area is the main course followed a bit quick after the starter was cleared, this may be down to the restaurant being quiet at the time. The wine was excellent, we went for the Chilien Merlot (house wine) which was very nice and reasonably priced, in some hotels/restaurants the wine prices are over inflated. one last comment on the food, the bread given as an appetiser was excellent."     The room was very pleasently decorated, it gave a feeling of warmth & welcome. The bed was very comfy and we liked the spacious bathroom.

    The wardrobe was a bit inaccessible, this was due to its location in the room and the furniture surrounding it, it could have done with some additional trouser hangers as well.

    "The food was wonderful, the staff friendly, two of our son's are young adults with learning disabilities, on the evening the young adults stayed in the bar, supervised by our older son, he commenting on the friendly approach towards the boys by locals and staff, we were very pleased by this, and because the boys were made so welcome we will use this hotel again, and recommend it to others."     "The hotel has everything you would need without having to go elsewhere to satisfy your needs. Rooms are very clean and comfotable, with all amenities. There is a vey nice restaurant with a superbly varied menu should you wish to dine, in addition to a very homely,relaxing lounge for those who just require to chill with a meal/snack and a drink.The public bar provides the opportunity to mix with local people over a pint or a game of pool. Staff wait on you hand and foot, allowing you the chance to relax and enjoy the hospitality without interference. Food was tasty and well presented.     Cant fault the accommodation in any way. It was very clean, comfortable, modern and homely, with up to date facilities and everything we required.

    "We used the hotel as a two night stay on a motorcycling trip with a couple of other friends. With hindsight we would probably have spent a third night there and further investigated the lovely Tweed valley. First impressions were excellent with a very tidy hotel with hanging baskets and outside benches. We were not disappointed with the reality either.     The location was great. The staff were friendly. The service was good and the restaurant was excellent - the Sea Bass was delicious!

    The Television lost colour and I could only get two channels but that was a VERY minor problem as I only wanted to watch the news. The heat in the room was very high despite the radiators being turned off but again a minor point.
