    the young lady who booked us in initially was excellent,very friendly and helpfull

    the staff on the tuesday were terrible unhelpful and spoke welsh to each other in front of us NO INTERNET this was one of the reasons we chose this hotel NO EVENING MEAL told by staff not busy enough to supply meal again this is advertised on web site and one of the reasons we booked,when i said that we had rushed back for a meal she shrugged her shoulders also the staff seemed to be having a personnal birthday party and when we came home at 22.45 the hotel was in darkness and no staff on the premises we booked for four nights but left after two and had to stay at great expense at the hilton in cardiff

    "My daughter is now at Carmarthen University for 3 years so I and rest of family will be visiting quite regularly, but will try another hotel next time to compare. £60 seemed a lot for that, limited tv and an unfriendly breakfast" (108941776)

    clean room, comfortable bed, nice towels, powerful hairdryer!Practical centre of town near main shops, etc.

    Hotel claim 10 tv channels, we had 2 working, BBC1 and BBC3! and noisy, noisy, noisy (especially just above the bus stop) - service at saturday morning breakfast very miserable, not welcoming. My daughter and I even wondered if it was because we were not Welsh!

    Good - Convenience of access to station from where we arrived / departed. Our lare arrival was dealt with vcery efficiently by the bar staff who showed us up to our rooms. Breakfast not bad, needs stronger coffee!

    Bad - Noise from outside on main street, and downstairs in the bar.

    Cheerful staff in evening

    Broken shower, broken light bulb, very very noisy as room over bar with late night entertainment, so much so that the wardrobe doors rattled with the beat of the band downstairs ! left off well after midnight. Street noisy to nearly 3.30 am

    waitress not taking notes when ordering from resturant, very minor problem with food order but sorted very quickly, we stayed from friday night through to monday morning and found it a bit noisey but hey guys it is located in the High Street so has to be expected

    The only good point was the location.

    Hotel was tired. No lift. Car park was very tight to enter this should be made clear on the web site.

    "Room was cramped, linen old, holes in wall holes and cracks around wash basin. Bathroom light pull filthy. Could not sit on toilet seat. Too close to bath & wall. Did not sleep all night.Very old, inadeqate, despite claims it had been re decorated I don't feel this hotel has had a lick of paint since the internet was invented." (107760026)

    hot water comfortable beds

    shower didnt work. bathroom mouldy. bulbs missing from lamps. sockets didnt work. water damage on ceiling with bulging ceiling paper and paper nmissing. walls in room fithy. furnisher and furnishings shabby. mou;ld round windowframes, hotels in net curtains. breakfast dry and shrivled (mushrooms and bacon)

    "Generally good, and I should take into account quiet in hotel as I arrived 28th Dec. Think perhaps description should incorporate the fact it is in a one way system in town centre, will tell it could be noisy. My room overlooked and was, unfortunately had a bus stop immediately underneath too." (107555045)

    Food and menu excellent, but breakfast a problem. First day no egg and they had to go out and buy some and bring to my table later, also ordered hash brown and got fried bread, second day better, think skeleton staff after Xmas.

    Heating in room virtually non existent, but bearable. On arrival Strip light in bathroom did not work but after complaint next morning repaired.

    Music on the Saturday night reverberated through the room and made the furniture and light fittings vibrate, this continued until midnight and we were unable to sleep. Although the singer tried, he was not very good and was out of tune.

    Good central location to visit this part of the UK

    We feel that the resteraunt menu could have had a broader selection and that there could have been a better selection of itmes for a light or continental style breakfast. The bedroom was very comfortable but badly let down by the quality of the bathroom

    Room was lovely, well presented

    Breakfast is only served from 07:30. I needed to leave the hotel at 07:15 to meet with a colleague. I asked if I could just have some toast and a cup of tea. I was told that I could not as the chef wasn't in until 07:15 and there was tea in my room. As I stayed over on a Sunday night the Tesco down the road were not open early on Monday morning. Therefore I had no breakfast which was paid for. Asking for an early breakfast of just toast is not unreasonable.

    Nothing whatsoever was provided at this accommodation that I wouldn't expect as completely standard. No extras whatsoever. 2 tea bags. Poorly working shower. Noisey room. Silly, fall-apart curtains/roman blinds. Un-opening windows on a muggy June night.

    This hotel charged at the higher end of the scale for this location, but provided barely adequate facilities at the low end of the scale. I have stayed in superior accommodation at just over half the cost -

    the bus stop outside created noise from 5.30AM. People comimg back to their rooms at 2.30AM were loud. The toilet cystern failed to refil after the first use in the morning!!

    For the price overall hotel was adequate, clean and tidy

    We had to wait half an hour for breakfast in the morning as the waitress was late to work, made me late for an appointment.

    "Internet access was poor, we booked this hotel because it was listed as having good access but using dial up via the phone was inpractical and too slow for a business user. There was adequate parking behind hotel,breakfast was good, but evening meals were rather pricey.It woulsd be usefual if room service was available for longer as it ended early." (97267625)
