    The bedding was of a very good standard. A packed lunch was provided as I had to leave before the breakfast started.

    The breakfast was not available until 7.30am which meant I missed out on it. There was a wasps nest behind the vent in the room so I had to block it. Also midges were in the room.

    noisy-T.V.on in another room at 6 in the morning.Paper thin walls with loud snoring .Basic breakfast which had to be taken before 9on the Sunday morning

    They're fried breakfasts are good - no burnt/crunchy bis anywhere.

    Little choice in the bar (or for vegetarians). In our room, the alarm clock didn't work and the tv aerial lead broke (badly wired)

    "Despite being cold (the weather was atrocious), I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I couldn,t get the shower to work but the family room my 2 friends and I stayed in, was comfortable. I would suggest allowing the heating to be on for a longer period though, but everything else was good." (97492517)

    All staff were very friendly.

    Wished the room had been heated before arriving. It was freezing.

    "Overall it was a good stay but i'm not sure that i would stay there again as it was quite expensive for what we got. Dissapointed with breakfast. Staff were really nice though and the room was big enough although to cold at night" (99333916)

    The room was a great size and the staff were very nice.

    It was very cold at night as you cannot control the heating in the rooms, the radiators were turned on but obviously the owners control when they go on. The breakfast was very poor with only one egg, one bacon, one sausage and half a slice of fried bread and single tomato. Not the best start to the day, we had to fill up on toast.

    "The room was small, basic and smelt. The shower was full of limescale and the toilet took several attempts to flush. The breakfast was one of the worst we had ever had. There was meant to be juice and cereals to help yourself to but the juice was empty, when we asked for it to be refilled she gave us just enough for two small glasses each. The cereal selection was minimal and although the menu promised fresh fruit and porridge, there was none to be seen. The cooked breakfast used the cheapest sausages and bacon possible and all there was on offer was cheap white bread as toast. Had this been advertised as a budget hotel with a budget price to match it would have been adequate, we are used to getting a lot more for the price that we paid." (97749885)

    Attitude and performance of staff. Quiet location near to main roads. Availability of parking. More than adequate breakfast.

    Minimum sized bathroom. Lack of internet connection capability. Lack of on-site lounge (was advertised as having a lounge, but license had not been received).

    Friendly service, good breakfast, clean and comfotable, what more can you ask for?!

    Downstairs party on the fist night was disturbing but didn't go on the whole night.

    "The hotel in general looked very nice from the outside the gardens where nice and well looked after. The rooms in the hotel where nice and well stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits and towels. The hotel had a good bar and dining area, our breakfast was nice and cleanly cooked with plenty of choices. The staff where very pleasent, took time out to talk to us and inform us of some good places to go, all in all we where very well looked after. Thankyou" (99239755)

    "The Dalson House Hotel is a lovely building which is ideally situated, near the town center but far enough away not to be disturbed by the town center revellers. The owners were very pleasant and most approachable. Our room was comfortable and spacious and easily accommodated the three of us." (99112840)

    Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and made our short stay very enjoyable.

    Only small problem was with the shower over the bath. Climbing in and out was made more difficult due to the bath being slippy. Maybe a non slip mat in the bath would prevent anybody slipping.

    "Perhaps being able to ask for a certain floor if you knew those available in the hotel. I am not disabled but do have trouble at present with stairs. If rooms on several floors info should indicate availability of a lift or not." (3305086589)

    "Slightly dated decor, but very clean so no complaints. Food was average, if a little pre-packed, but otherwise a great stay and yes we would return. Very very nice people with a great welcome. I would have no hesitation using the hotel again" (3305029775)

    cleanliness and excellent hospitality. My son was attending a local ice hockey school and the staff were very accomodating and helpful.

    The helpfulness and friendliness of the proprietor family is most welcoming and makes the traveller feel right at home.

    The bathroom facilities were a bit dated but otherwise functional.

    It was in a good location for us (attending a family funeral) It was clean,welcoming and reasonable value for money. The room,facilities and breakfast were very good.

    I thought that the staff were friendly and efficient, but the reception area was a little untidy & rather let down everything else - a pity.

    The staff were accommodating and friendly. There were a couple of people staying who were running the Dumfries Marathon and the hotel staff got up early on a Sunday morning to provide breakfast well before the race start. The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable. The food was good.

    "My husband and I booked a room for my disabled Mother. Her room was superb. It was spacious, well appointed and on the ground floor as requested. Our room was rather small to to the rear of the building but adequate for our needs. We visited Dumfries to celebrate the New Year with a Hogmannay Party and enjoyed it thoroughly. We would certainly use this hotel again and recommend it to others. The proprieters are to be congratulated on the lovely welcoming atmosphere they have created and children are welcomed warmly."     There was a 'family' feeling as soon as you walk through the door, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful

    Not sure really, a nice little hotel, spotlessly clean,convenient location and delightful staff!
