    "In general the hotel was fine it was a bit more expensive than we usually pay it cost us £218.00 for two nights with breakfast.we usually use travel lodges but thought we would treat ourselves and go up market a bit.But we wouldn't want to pay that much for a small damp-smelling room again,Other than that we enjoyed our time in liverpool and will be returning."     the breakfast room was very pleasant looking towards the park

    the room was a bit on the small side, there was an awful smell of damp you could see where there had been a leak near the radiator

    "The hotel seemd to have deteriorated since I was there last October, noticably the restaurant. I had a pint of lager before dinner which tasted stale. I then ordered dinner, in a noticeably cold dining room, of a starter of soup followed by a steak. The soup was offered with a roll plus the waiter asked whether I want bread as well. I said no additional bread just the roll that came with the soup - I never received the roll plus the soup was only luke warm! Also, virtually all wines on the wine list were not available. The steak was OK but the whole experience was not value for money." (97924452)

    First room a generator going all night it sounded as though it was in the room, I had very little if any sleep. I asked to be moved and was given a choice of basement single (very small room) or double for an extra

    Bedroom and bathroom was of a very high standard. Dining room was excellent and breakfast plentiful.

    Reception area was in need of refurbishment.

    "No hot water and no heating in the room when we checked in. We reported the problem to the hotel immediately and the hotel changed the room, but the second room has the same problem and the problem was not restored for the first night. The next day the hotel said that they had repaired the boiler, but the we still had no hot water and no heating on the second day." (97370063)

    Decor of the room was good and the bed comfortable and clean

    No hot water in the morning so wasn't possbible to have a shower. Room was very small so am glad I was only staying for one night.

    "if you are looking for a hotel for a short break don't pick this one. It's too far away from the city and even though it's on the edge of a park it's very noisy at night.There were sirens and a police helicopter in the middle of the night." (97320011)

    Nice decor in the room and the staff were friendly and helpful

    the room was very small, located too far away from city centre, were not advised that building work was going on in the hotel so there was no lift and it was noisy during the day.

    Location

    Two light bulbs not working,only one set of towels in a twin room , toilet roll holder broken.Promised breakfast at 6.45am the night before message left by reception for staff, nothing available so left with nothing. No newspaper on second morning.

    Room was clean and restraunt and Breakfast was excellent.

    The single room accomodation did not have proper water drainage in the shower.Nothing was done to correct inspite of reporting.I had to have a quick shower to avoid flooding!!!

    "Hotel was great for the start of the Liverpool half marathon we were running in. Staff very friendly and helpful .Shower wasnt working initially but was mended. Very noisy in middle of night.     Very noisy, because of a wedding party and another party the next day. Room very tiny. Not serviced until after 2 0 clock pm Shower or light over sink not working initially.

    "I was delighted to have been upgraded automatically into a double standard from a single room at no extra charge. The receptionist was helpful and a problem with an alarm clock which was going off repeatedly in the room next door was immediately dealt with. The bar snacks menu was excellent and the portions gargantuan! I particularly liked the conservatory overlooking the park. It was excellent value for money and a lovely location - a little way from the city centre but quiet and full of atmosphere. I really enjoyed my breakfast too - a table for one, away from the family tables, was provided, and the menu was delicious - particularly the yoghurt and fresh fruit salad. A really good alternative to some of the overpriced and soul-less hotels in the city centre - the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. A comfortable place to stay for a lone female traveller." (99996080)

    The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was much larger than average

    The lift to the Garden Annexe was sometimes busy and there were no alternative stairs to get to that part of the hotel. That said, it was really quiet and comfortable

    "Whilst I have given a mark of 'Fair' to some of the above points, this is mainly down to the Breakfast staff, who were a little slow with serving our coffee and toast - which my daughter wanted WITH her breakfast, not 5 minutes after finishing it! However, they were friendly, if a little quiet. The Reception were friendly and efficient. Also, there are areas of the hotel that, in my opinion, are a little 'tired' and ready for redecoration.     There is room for improvement with Breakfast. Both days, the food was not hot and a little too greasy for our liking.

    Service in the bar and restaurant. Food quality was appalling for the price.Remember this hotel is three star rated. The bar area was extremely smokey.

    "Whilst it was in a nice location it was some distance to walk to the Albert Docks and the town centre. The staff were friendly. The decor in the room was fair but not oustanding. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we found it noticeably colder than other parts of the hotel. It was particularly cold when we went and the heating was not on for long enough. Being where it is next to Sefton Park you are stuck for an alternative place to eat. Even the specials seemed to be overpriced. It was akward eating in the bar off tables that were quite low. If the htel had been busier there would not hve been sufficient room in the bar. There were no leaflets on display of local events/places of interest. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were a plus." (3305550252)

    Nice location, plenty of secure parking. Breakfast was good.

    The room was cold. The bar was small for the size of the hotel. Meals were expensive.

    "If like myself you are looking for budget accomodation within easy reach of Liverpool's attractions, then the Alicia is a good option. We arrived late and ate off the bar menu, which was plentiful and tasty. The breakfast was very good and the only criticism i could make is the stale smell of tobacco in the bar area and the decor was slightly on the shabby side. A true guide to the Alicia is the fact that i would consider staying there in the future." (3305493118)

    The staff were welcoming and polite, the price which included a good substantial breakfast was good value for money.

    Although from the outside, the hotel looks impressive, once inside the tell tale signs of wear and tear were in my opinion too apparent.
