    "EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY" (107714612)

    On arrival at the breakfast room there were no unused tables, so I asked for 1 to be cleared and it as done by very pleasant staff straight away and our order was taken in no time.

    no bad points, except badly cracked sink in bathoom

    Very pleasant staff and a very comfortable bed. An excellent breakfast.

    Lack of biscuits in room to go with tea/coffee. We had travelled over two hours and the bar and sandwich facilities were not open till 17.00 and it would have been nice to have had a biscuit with our refreshing cup of tea. The pictures on the walls looked 'tired'.

    Adequate for the purpose!

    Shower did not work. Horrid smell in room ? cause ? fowl smelling cleaning stuff! Bedlinen put on inside out (minor detail, I know :-) ) Chicken wrapped in panchetta, was just chicken nothing wrapped around it!

    The hotel has poorly trained staff with little motivation and no management. Fixtures and fittings that are very tired and worn. Poor room ventilation for higher temperatures. Very poor and possibly dangerous water supply in the bathrooms.

    Check-in and check-out were both great, and the rates all matched what I had booked online.

    A fair distance from the train station and from sites of interest/evening activities, so commuting to sites by car or taxi was necessary. The bath tub was at an odd height from the ground, which made getting in and out feel a little dangerous (word of caution for the elderly or infirm).

    Long maze of corridors to rooms and no lifts that I could see.

    Attentive and helpful staff. Very good meal provided at the wedding reception.

    Room, including furnishings, very grubby and tired looking. Only one towel provided for 2 guests. Limited TV channels. Had to change key 4 times to gain access to room. Breakfast service was well below what I would have expected and food not up to quality. Drinks at the bar very expensive, especially the wine.

    nice rooms and acceptable breakfast

    1. took too long for the reception to confirm the room was ready 2. there was too much noise outside my room in the morning (7-9 am). If that can't be controlled, please ensure that you ask the guests with sensitive ears (like myself) beforehand and provide them a room away from sources of noise.

    Service from reception staff and bar/domestic staff very good. I asked for an iron on arrival and was told to phone for this, however the gentleman who looked after the bar overheard me asking and brought it straight to the room for me.

    There were no towels in the room upon arrival and we had to ask for these. The bathroom was very dirty with fluff on the floor, dirty grouting and shower area (long term dirt and nothing that could be cleaned straight away). The bath was very shallow and didn't really allow for a comfortable bathing experience. Fried breakfast was adequate but the bread that was provided had mould on a lot of it. We reported this and the bread was taken away, however the same tray was brought back albeit with many of the slices removed.

    Breakfast. Friendly and approachable reception manager.

    No Dining Room on Monday Evening. Very poor selection of beers. Not within walking distance of facilities the hotel doesn't itself offer.

    "Perfectly adequate for my purposes. £60 for clean adequate quiet room (I was put at the back of the hotel away from road noise, though not knowing the area had not requested this),with breakfast included, I would imagine would be hard to beat." (107763735)

    Friendly receptionist, clean rooms, felt safe, value for money so near to London - I was attending course nearby and needed convenient and cheap accommodation, no frills.

    Obviously in need of general overhaul and some TLC, appearance of rooms and accommodation areas shabby, worn carpets etc., but then prices would presumably rise.

    Room was freezing when I arrived. Maybe it would by good to put the heating on a low setting in your assigned rooms.

    A good hotel with acceptable price in short walk distance from the University main campus, with good parking. Some staff memebers very kind and serviceable.

    Insufficient emergency water outflow in basin and fairly obsolete shower were the only fairly bad points

    Staff was friendly.

    I couldn't count on getting soap or shampoo in my room, the cost for internet was ridiculous, and the staff could only suggest one place to find restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

    "The first thing was that we asked for two beds and got one double. Then the staff didn't seem very helpful, for instance, thr weather had predicted a very bad storm for the area, so we asked about weather updates and no seemed very interested in helping us get a report. We were flying home that day and we weren't sure about how to get to the airport, but yet again the lady at the desk basically felt that I was on my own. then at check out I had to complain because I was being charged more than the price I was quoted, luckly I had my comformation papers.     We had good value for the price.

    Uor room had very bad heat control. We had to open a window to breath, because it was so hot.

    "This hotel is always busy because of its location. Whilst improved from the last time I was there it is still a tired hotel which need some modernisation carried out to the rooms. I still feel that it is overpriced for what it offers but it is the location and lack of other hotels in this area that allows this overpricing.
