    "An excellent stay very relaxing as there was just enough input by the owners good information about surrounding areas and available food, excellent local knlwledge. So easy to get taxis to nearby ammenities and good prices meant you could dine out and enjoy a glass of wine without the worry" (108973128)

    enjoyed every aspect of my stay.Apparently some previous clients have stated that breakfast was too early but 8.30 is very reasonable to me.

    My only complaint, which is completely beyond the control of the management,is lack of morning papers.

    A nice clean well kept bed & breakfast. Situated in a lovely quiet rural setting; but convenient for travelling all over the area. Room had a bath, much appreciated by hubby.

    Breakfast served a bit early for us; as we are not early risers by nature. A small fridge for drinks etc and a fan would have been useful additions; especially for those staying several nights.

    Very good bedroom /facilities. Good parking. Pleasant situation. Good quality meals Very good service/staff Commfortable conservatory.

    Food quantities just adequate - but dinner was plate served without the opportunity to select vegetables. Conservatory was rather hot in the sun. Lawns needed mowing.

    "Upon arrival the manager showed us round the place, then to our rooms. We were left to our own devices which was good.She gave us a recommendation for a venue for an evening meal which turned out to be excellent food and good value. We only stayed one tonight but should we visit the area again would not thin k twice about staying again" (97922429)

    "Booked a room here for an overnight break on a trip to Scotland, treated ourselves to the 4 poster room, this was a large well equipped room with lovely period furniture including a sofa. The en-suite facilities were excellent and well equipped and very clean. The owner was very friendly and took time to chat and make us feel very welcome, they reccomended a nice restaurant for our evening meal which too was first class. Breakfast was excellent with the menu explaining where all the local produce was sourced. The accommodation was set well off the road up its own private access road and was surrounded by open fields making it very quiet and a great place to start our week away. An Excellent place to stay and we will definatly return" (97253031)

    "Overall a good stop off hotel. Very clean, rooms spacious with lovely view. Owners very warm and didn't mind chatting. Breakfast you did have a choise with a fresh egg from their chickens. Not far from Catterick though not walking. If you want a pub someone will have to drive." (97724036)

    Room was outstanding. Owners very welcoming. The children went to look at their chickens and looked st the horses. Friendly, also children made to feel at ease.

    We booked a meal thinking we would have a choice. We were all given fish pie. Though very good not everyones taste.

    To be honest the hotel was only used as a changing room for a party in another area of the village. We booked in at 6pm got washed and dressed, left at 7pm then was out till 4:30am. Breakfast was lovely then checked out.

    The building could do with some sound proofing as it was possible to hear conversations in other rooms.

    "If you want five star treatment in a first class facility you could do no better than this. Ideally situated for York, the North-east coast, Yorkshire Moors and the Dales.     The owner made us very welcome, the room was clean and very well equiped. The communal areas were bright and comfortable.

    Clean,tidy, comfortable and very spacious. 4 poster bed was a real feature. A very welcoming hostess who made the stay a real treat.
