    Manager extremely helpful. Arrived early, the room was ready and we were able to check in. Lovely location. Excellent if on foot, close to Canterbury West station and the city centre.

    "In general we could not have had a better weekend than by staying at the Millars Arms in Canterbury. The general atmosphere of the hotel and helpfulness of the staff greatly added to our break." (97067456)

    When we arrived at the Hotel we were warmly greeted by the staff. Everything relating to the hotel rules was explained to us clearly. All the staff were friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Breakfast staff were equally friendly and helpful, again nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. All our rooms were clean and had well appointed ensuite facilities. The menu for evening meals was varied and interesting. When we requested sandwiches to be available after a visit to the Theatre we were told it would not be a problem and indeed it wasn't. On the whole I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. It was close enough to all that Canterbury had to offer yet far enough away so as not to be disturbed by noise. The sound of rushing water lulled everyone to sleep and in some instances woke them in the morning. We found the facilities for both smokers and non-smokers was well catered for.

    Because we were a party of 8 the chef tried to serve every one at the same time. Unfortunately this resulted in some of the food not being hot only luke warm and being tough (overcooked) where it had been kept warm. The heating in the bedroom would have been very welcome on a cold day but as the weekend was very warm it could not be turned down/off. However it did eventually cool down.

    Check is was very friendly, and the rooms were really cute. Breakfast very good, we wanted to eat out but the food looked good and well priced in the pub of the hotel Hotel is quite central and parking with good rates from the hotel just across the road.We arrived for one night from Holland via Dover which is a 30 minute drive away. LOTS and LOTS of shops and restaurants.

    The entrance is very worn out compared to the rest of the hotel. Could do to tile it instead of a well worn carpet.

    Clean and cosy room. The corner bath was fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. A huge cooked breakfast was included.

    The beer in the pub wasn't very good.

    nice room over looking the green, and river lock, adequate en-suite, lovely comfy beds, clean and homely.

    En-suite was adequate, but door slammed when opened it needed a door stop which wasn't provided// TV reception was very poor, no ariel to adjust.

    It was central to Canterbury but in a quiet location. The staff were very friendly.

    There was no lounge so as a group we had to go to the pub.

    We liked thw hotel becasue it was within walking distance of the shopping centre.

    Room comfortable with all required facilities. It was clean, warm & very convenient to Canterbury Centre. The staff were first class and the food was well prepared and tasty. The draft Spitfire Ale - superb!

    Why the big noise when hot or cold taps are turned on? Soggy, over sweet croissants for continental breakfast.

    "A lovely place to stay. The staff are really friendly, the bar is comfortable and you feel like you belong. Although we didn't sample the food, the bar menu looked good, and we were told on our first night (a Wednesday at the beginning of December) that we would not be able to eat there because they had full restaurant bookings. We thought that was a good sign. The breakfast was very substantial and varied, with a selection of cerial, fruit and a great English breakfast. The pub is centrally places, only five, maybe six minutes walk to the town centre." (99789742)

    The room was clean if a little small. However, the bathroom was large and wonderful, with a lovely corner bath and a big shower overhead.

    The room was small but probably to be expected of such an old converted mill. This DID NOT spoil our stay.

    "Overall a very nice B & B and priced accordingly. A good location for exploring Canterbury on foot. Better than average breakfast with a good evening menu and seemed popular with locals dining out which is always a good sign.     Our room was very nicely decorated and the beds comfortable - we went to sleep listening to the R. Stour flow by. From the other window we could see the Cathedral. The staff were genuinely helpful and friendly and the food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent. Great location.
