    Pretty location, with nice outside facilities

    The food was quite poor, although the staff tried their hardest to make things as pleasant as possible

    Very good service at Breakfast and pleasant efficient waiting staff. Staff were helpful whilst we were changing rooms. Room and hotel in general were clean.

    Owing to my wife's disability could not use the first two rooms offered. The view to the rear of the Hotel was only slightly better than a viewing day at an Abattoir. Phoned prior to visit to book a meal and told no need. With a disabled wife and having not eaten could not get a meal the night we stayed as it was fully booked. Staff really don't understand what a nuisance bad advice causes. Room was very cramped compared to Abode room costing not much more money. Rather a lot of noise and smell from the kitchen ventilation system if you opened the window to avoid having aircon on continuosly.

    easy access to kent county cricket ground, 5 minute walk, quiet stay although there was a wedding and disco,pleasant surroundings,hotel staff helpful,room clean tidy and adequate for overnight stay.

    Beautiful well maintained building. Plenty parkingspace, free wifi, clean room, strong shower

    We had a bed that was too small and there was a plastic layer underneath the sheets, which wasn't comfortable.

    staff very friendly relaxed atmoshphere breakfast was excellent - lots of choice room was very clean and unique - not like the average hotel room, it had personality! Exteria of the hotel was lovely, esp the lighting and water features, the grounds also gave the hotel a nice relaxing feel

    Walls were very thin - could hear next door room coughing in the night and we were woken up by voices in the corridor in the early hours 12.0 clock check out would be good - esp as it was a leisure stay so we wanted a relaxing morning but ended up rushing a bit to have breakfast, pack and check out Bed was also quite small (for a double) and hard. A thicker duvet would also be more comfortable instead of blankets

    A good and typical Best Western Hotel, clean and pleasant.

    None in particular although on the four occasions that I have stayed at this hotel, the bar is not well enough staffed.

    Friendliness of the staff . Quiet spacious feeling in the hotel and grounds and near the town centre and cricket ground which was our reason for choosing the hotel .

    Clean and friendly. The maitre di at breakfast was the perfect person for the job and it was nice to see quality, politeness and efficiency of a mature man with many years of experience.

    The on-screen internet and other menu driven services of the TV were not working properly. I think an American system has been shoe-horned into a British hotel and I don't believe it works. Ours certainly didn't. The beds were far too hard.

    We both found the beds far too hard and this badly affected quality of sleep. This would deter us from booking with a Best Western hotel in the future.

    "Great value for money with the staff beinbg very friendly and helpful. Quality of the food was good and the facilities were clean and what you would expect of a 4 star hotel. It seems they are expanding too with leisure facilities -I hope they don't put the price up too much as a result. I want to go back." (97140346)

    The service was second to none and the staff very attentive. In terms of value, I couldn't have got any better!

    I do like a double bed but then I did choose and pay for a single so that's me!

    "Fully recommend this hotel as a place to stay if you wish to visit Canterbury. It is within easy walking distance for the Cathedral and St Augustine's abbey. The hotel is worth a few nights stay to fully appreciate the ammenities provided. breakfast was sumptuous and enough to last the whole day. Check out at 11am made a more relaxing morning."     The setting was lovely, walking distance fro the heart of Canterbury.

    The room was overheated, but apart from that all ammenities were excellent.

    "Initial impression were excellent but unfortunatley spoilt by having to move rooms on Saturday night and the second room was uncomfortably cold with no hot water" (97018092)

    The first room we stayed in was excellent - we particulalry liked the bathroom facilities and poer shower

    On Saturday night water started dripping from the ceiling and we had to be moved to another room - this alternative room was cold and had no poer shower and no hot water

    Clean,quiet location with plenty of car parking space and a short walk into the centre of town

    Whilst the restaurant was good the time to serve the main course at dinner on the first night was far too long - recognised by the manager giving us a complimentary glass of wine each for the long wait.

    "In general, a very pleasant place to stay. The Victorian section adds character. Very quiet and clean.A well appointed hotel in a good location.We found the evening meal of good quality, but expensive and consisting of small portions - particularly lacking in vegetables with the main course.
