    The room was clean, as was the restaurant, and the breakfast was good, although they had forgotten to put out the serving utensils. The location was excellent and parking facilities also.

    Being a Saturday night we were kept awake most of the night by young people shouting and screaming outside until 3:30 am having come out of a night-club and/or the Log Cabin and congregating in the surrounding area. Very anti-social behaviour. If we ever stay again, we will avoid Friday and saturday nights!!

    Staff obliging and accomodated early breakfast request.

    A tired hotel which is well overdue a revitalisation. Showerhead in room 28 wouldn't stay in holder, rooms on 4th floor had no hot water for shower on day of arrival. Signs of neglect everywhere! Room 25 needs new bed matress. Able to feel bed base through mattress!!

    Staff very friendly and printed out directions for us on leaving, to continue our journey

    despite radiator on full heat - the room was so cold I slept fully clothed! (December and a corner room with big windows and only a single radiator). The mattress was too soft and probably worn. The decor had faded and I am sure the place has seen better days.

    Breakfast when I found the breakfast room was very nice.

    Hotel appeared empty , there was no proper check in procedure I was simply handed a key at the bar. The following morning there was no one to be seen in the hotel and no one on reception until gone 08:00 , it was difficult to find the breakfast room with no staff around and no preious instructions given when I checked in.

    "The Owners of this Hotel need to consider reinvestment ...everything about this Hotel is TIRED and worn out ........ How it obtained a 3-Star rating is bewildering ..." (107228763)

    Location ...... that was all really

    This Hotel is very TIRED ...the room we had was very poorly decorated and equipped ...the Bathroom is dirty with mould and is fitted with Carpet and a Sani Flow Toilet ...the Bed was extremely uncomfortable and we both suffered from a disturbed nights sleep . Finally the noise from the drinkers at the Public House next door kept us awake for hours ..... NOT a pleasant stay .

    "As we needed an overnight stay in the town to attend a birthday party it fullfiled the need. Litte contact was made with the staff as there was no need to after booking in. The hotel was central for our needs. The TV in the room had only 4 channels in an age where most now have additional sky facilitites." (97968963)

    The accomadation was reasonable priced.

    Hotel appears to be in need of a major makeover, it looked tired, the car park had numerous pot holes

    "Generally the stay was good,very quiet due to lack of guests.The food was very good and the bar drinks reasonably priced.You can tell that once it was probably quite a grand hotel but generally it is showing signs of needing a major refurbishment and possible a new lift which was only a 2 person lift and only really suitable for us because the hotel was so quiet.The bedroom was very spacious and quite confortable.I would recommend it to others purely for a short stay or stopover."     "My general feeling of my experience was that it was very warm and friendly, your staff are all very professional and welcoming, the bed was really comfy and the breakfast well presented with a wide variety of nutritious food and drink available. I generally enjoyed my stay here and would definately return." (97072040)

    The room was very spacious and tidy. The towels on the bed with the complimentary shower toiletries were a very welcoming touch.

    There wasn't an ironing board in the room, the floorboards creaked a lot and it wasn’t as clean as id hoped.

    "We had a pleasant stay and the price was very reasonable however the standard of the room was very basic and I would compare the standard to a Travel Lodge rather than a Hotel i.e. cheap and cheerful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant service at breakfast was very slow but the food was good once it arrived." (97146007)

    It was a very friendly quiet hotel.

    The ensuite was of a very poor standard, the main light was not working. There was no hair dryer in room but one was available in Reception.

    Easy to find and the staff was great. Plus the restaurant in the hotel was spectacular!

    The room could have been a bit cleaner. The carpet was kind of gross and there were stains on the wall.

    Friendly helpful staff big rooms heating was on as it was very cold for May bank holiday. Big breakfast. Great position

    "Initial room given to us had a good view of the roof tops including seagull and bird droppings. Change of room gave us a view of the town gardens and the local down and outs outdoor drinking club.     Nice quiet location. Everything in the room I needed.

    Long walk from reception area but perhaps the room wouldn't have been so quiet if it had been nearer.

    Its price, staff were helpful , food ok

    generally run down in terms of decoration in and around hotel and bedrooms, however for the price it was not too bad. I would not want to pay anymore for the rooms per night

    Close to the town centre which was good.

    Too Hot, water came through the ceiling of the wardrobe and soaked our clothes. No hair dryer.

    "the young staff were not totally on the ball leaving us having to ring and leave credit card details when we couldnt check out at 8am as reception was closed. we couldnt get a cooked breakfast either as they dont start until 8am. the breakfast staff were very helpful and competent."     it was reasonably clean. the hotel didnt suffer from railway or too much road noise.

    everything was a bit tatty
