    "The hotel did what it says on the tin. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome." (108221866)

    Staff were friendly and the modernisation of the public areas was nice and acualy better than expected.

    Bedroom corridors awful -but then we were in the old block. Bathrooms need upgrade too. Lighting needs to be more intimate for dinner service, as we felt like we were sitting under a flood light - well it was spot lights -full on.

    train noise ; swiping credit card at beginning of stay ; I am still not sure if I have paid twice for stay till I see bank statement ; internet a little expensive although I did not use it ;

    Attention from staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Easy to find and park. Excellent breakfast. Complaint dealt with fairly.

    Bed not changed. Tea tray not equipped for 3 as booked.

    We can only commend the staff at St Albans. They were all pleasant, cheerful, Helpfull polite and obliging. We would definitly use the hotel when next in the area.

    VERY hot room and couldn't open the larger window. Room also too small to move around comfortably.

    Clean room,easy access to room able to access the hotellany time of the night. late bar and a good bar food menue.

    Initially booked for a single room but upon arrival realised it was totally unacceptable. Had to pay extra for an upgrade to a double room.

    The Staff were helpful and arranged a room change for me instantly. I did have cause to lodge a complaint but the manager contacted me promptly and the matter has been resolved to my complete satisfaction. The overall impression of the staff/manager is excellent

    The room appeared worn and rather grubby but please refer to the summary of good points as steps are already being taken to rectify this.

    Close to St Albans centre. Good amenities. Helpfull staff.

    A bit of noise from railway but not too intrusive.

    "This hotel suited our needs at the time since we had a party to attend at the golf course next door. I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone due to the room problems. It is also a pity that the Health Club did not look and sound as good as the web-site indicated. It is basically a tired old splash-pool with a couple gym equipment items next door and a sauna."     Good breakfast and relatively clean

    The first room we were offered was stuffy and you could not open a window. The air-con was so poor that we had to move rooms to one that we had a window so that we could breathe. This room, however was tired and jaded and in need of updating, particularly the bathroom (the stuffy room had been updated oddly enough).

    Excellent service and facilities. local area was lovely train to london and shop a few minutes walk.

    radiator didnt work, but the manager moved us to a better room. Trains where a bit close but could sleep through them.

    Staff seemed friendly and helpful, Breakfast was very nice but disorganised

    Sink was badly cracked, Wifi charged at £2 an hour for which you had to get tokens, room was too hot

    Not advised about possible Noise from disco and that it would go on passed midnight. Smokers standing outside the front door and all the smoke coming in.

    Staff were excellent, courtious, and helpful.

    Rooms are generally clean, but skirting boards were dirty and some walls had marks which could clearly be wiped off. The hotel backs onto a rainway track and my original room was directly on the back of the hotel, I was moved to a front room which was on a main road so a little noisy up until 9.30pm at night and started again at 5.30

    Breakfast good staff pleasant

    Bed was uncomfortable with heavy blankets and heavy cover, room hot but having window open meant noisey from road at front of hotel. The room was claustraphobicly small and the bathroom mould on the bath seal and paper starting to peel

    Comfortable room Good restaurant food

    Bed a bit hard Website description of hotel says 'Public parking is possible'. This makes it sound as if parking might be limited and this has put us off other hotels in the past. In fact, parking was not a problem - there is a good-sized car park - and I wonder if the hotel is under-selling itself.

    "I selected the hotel on the basis of location and price. On both I was satisfied with my decision. I did not have dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast had all that I wanted. It offered good value for money for the area, and I really had no criticism of the way in which it met its market niche." (97896251)

    Room was quiet and the bed was comfortable

    The layout of the room could have been improved - places where manouverability was desirable were cramped and the bed was slightly inaccessible.

    LACK OF WATER PRESSURE AT PEAK TIMES - MY PARTNER WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A SHOWER WHEN THE WATER PRESSURE CEASED FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS NEEDS ADDRESSING!
