    "Die Einrichtung ist teils etwas alt, aber OK. Das Schwimmbad und den Fitnessraum konnten wir aus Zeitmangel nicht nutzen, sah aber sehr ordentlich aus." (107600236)

    Sehr nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal!, Parkplatz direkt hinter dem Hotel und ein weiterer großer Parkplatz nur 50m weiter. Gutes Frühstück.

    Rooms were nicely done. The staff friendly and excellent. Breakfast was good. Didnt use the gym/pool however looked adequat.

    TV was small however the picture was excellent.

    Restaurant did not live up to expectations. quality of food was average and particularly disappointing with use of reconstituted egg for scrambled eggs Clearly a "reps" hotel with early morning banging of doors from 05:30 Management of leisure area poor with failure to follow through with posted restrictions

    Dinner and breakfast very good. Good choices, well cooked and well presented. Staff extremely friendy. Lovely to have the use of a pool, gym and sauna plus a nice bar are with big screen TV and easy access

    "Excellent Breakfast which was freshly cooked unlike our appalling experience of Motorway fare enroute. The black pudding was fluffy and light the sausages were tasty and eggs were cooked as requested. We only had 2 evening meals but my choice of rack on black was delicious. My partner chose broccoli with cream cheese bake and was full of praise but enthused even more over his Tiger Prawns with crab and melon" (97663829)

    "We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and were made to feel welcome. The main improvements could be made in the professionalism of restaurant staff most of whom were young and untrained. Maybe a restaurant manager would run a tighter ship." (97370208)

    Our room was clean, quietly situated and with all facilities expected. The breakfast was well cooked and hearty and the dinner menu gave us plenty of choice of dishes. Service at reception was friendly and very helpful.

    The main improvement we felt could be in the staff waiting at tables. there was no uniform or even uniformity of dress (ie. same colour tops/ trousers)and morning staff looked generally scruffy. Service was generally slow - we waited 20 mins to receive hot drinks at breakfast - and the staff were clearly untrained in taking orders and delivering food to tables. A general tightening up of the waiting service would make a big difference. A more generous supply of tea/coffee in the bedroom would have been nice - we had to request extra from reception on both days of our stay.

    "Ideal location for visiting all areas of the Neuk of Fife close to A92. It had the facilities of a large hotel but reatained a personal service with all staff ready and willing to help to make the stay special. Bathrooms were fine but probably benefit from a regrouting round the bath but always clean.Restaurant food both evening meals (a la carte except high tea on Sunday) and breakfasts were top notch" (99225400)

    "If you plan to be out and about through the day this hotel is ideal. The food, service and pool are great. I particularly loved the bright breakfast room and wide menu choice - a great start to the day. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The public jacuzzi, sauna and changing room shower was more domestic than I'd expected but the overall cost was no more than bed and breakfast 16 miles up the road in St Andrews so there is no reason to complain about this. My overall experience was OK but I blame innacurate website information and would in future confirm expectations by telephone if a number was provided. It would have been nice to have been offered another room till the heating was fixed but I think the hotel was full. This speaks for itself." (97326950)

    Lovely clean, fresh, spacious room. Good selection of hot drinks.

    Not as expected from website ( to be fair, the staff provided a DVD player immediately but could not provide the promised whirlpool bath or room service for which I had chose the hotel to chill-out for a few days ).The room was stifling hot - apparently the only way to control the temperature in our room was to switch off the heating completely!! This was OK to do last thing at night but we felt obliged to go out for the day which had not been the plan. Shower took ages to heat up and then kept changing temperature.

    The room was warm and cosy and adequate for the purpose of my visit. The food was excellent with a good selection and some fine wines.

    The shower was a bit on the compact side.

    "This is the 2nd time we have stayed at The Lomond Hills Hotel & hopefully it won't be the last. The food is excellent, the full Scottish breakfast really sets you up for the day and the High Tea on Sundays is not to be missed!!     the staff were very friendly and the bathrooms were excellent

    the bed was very uncomfortable the tv was small and the pool sauna was too small , kids playing football untill 10 o clock outside every night i understand they have little to do and no where to go but i was worried my car could have got damaged

    "Be aware that if you want to get away earlish on a Sunday morning that breakfast service does not start until 8.45am!! I realise that you are in the middle of Scotland but some people do have to be up and away before the middle of the day. Considering the rate is inclusive of breakfast I would have thought that some awareness should be made of this or a room only option should have been available." (3305429566)

    "I booked on line and was persuaded by the on website description. One is always wary that the description is exagerated but I was very relieved that this was not the case as my boss was visiting me on my area. She was delighted with the accomodation (thankfully!). I visit this area of Scotland quite regularly and I will definitely use this hotel as my base in future." (99878165)

    Location and age of hotel

    When we arrived we got excuses about problems before we had even checked in. Not happy with final orders for food at 8.30 pm some food (e.g. sandwiches) should be available at all times given room rate and hotels rating.

    "We found this hotel to be ideally located for touring Fife. It's old, which gives a nice ambiance; apparently some further refurbishments are on the way, which can only improve the impression.     "This was a friendly hotel, without being overbearing. I felt safe as a single traveller. I was in a good sized room with room to sit and relax on comfortable chairs. It was excellent value for money having the pool and spa facilites included." (3304761531)

    A double room for single occupancy at no extra cost. Bath AND shower. Pool/spa facilities. Cooked breakfast option. Food availabel if required.

    No complaints.

    It was adequate for my needs on the days that were suitable.

    The first night happened to coincide with a wedding therefore the evening was noisy. The television in the room required a bit of updating. I like to be able to access teletext when away from home to view news etc.

    "This hotel was recommended to me so I did not really read up on it prior to booking apart from the price list, which is well structured for the accommodation provided. On arrival, following along day’s drive, I was welcomed with open arms. I felt immediately comfortable in the hotel surroundings. The hotel boasts swimming pool, sauna and gym facilities, which I was promptly made aware off rather than finding out myself later on in the stay. I have to say that the Restaurant was very good and would struggle to criticise the service. There is a local pub but this does not serve food so you will be dining at the hotel most evenings but as I say you will not be disappointed. One thing I would like to mention is that on arrival the hotel car park was very full. I stayed in an off peak season so maybe difficult to park in peak seasons. Overhaul this hotel is a good one, it is well located to main tourist attractions and routes in Fife including many golf clubs of which this hotel also offers a pre-booking on local courses."     Well run with excellent staff. A special mention to the food which was well prepared and good value for money.

    The introduction of lighting in the room shower as it is very dark once the shower curtain is closed. I stayed in Room 1 so this may not apply to all the rooms.

    "In a small village off the beaten track which suited me. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Well stocked bar which lacked any atmosphere and very little seating, cigarette smoke seemed to linger in the air. There was however a nicer lounge on the other side of the bar which appeared to be non smoking but there was still a bit of a funky smokey smeel in the air. Bedroom size was adequate with lots of tea and coffee on hand, and a small fridge. Comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. Bathroom was very samll and the shower cubicle could have done with upgrading as there had been some very poor DIY carried out on it. Very good evening meal and breakfast. Overall, good value for the price." (3304147177)

    right location

    rooms are perfectly & hygienically clean, but some fittings are getting tired. The mattresses are soft & lumpy, so not great for sleeping on.

    "There is no control over the quality of the accommodation when booking online as these hotels are probably just part of a subscribed to system. This hotel has been recently bought and the facilities are old and tired. The staff however were excellent as was the owner but the information on the uality of accommodation should be up to date."
