    Staff very friendly,great service with lots of happy faces,restaraunt was perfect,food very good and a very pleasant decor in thr restaraunt.Room was very nice,and warm..........very cosy.lots of "old character" in the original buildings,old beams,creaky floors and low doors........great !!!!

    Only little bad point,bit of a "squeeze","battle" with the bathroom door and the Toilet in my room.......Toilet always winning though!!!!

    company paid online for the room on 2 occasions, but then charged my own card when i checked in, called to try to get it sorted, they wernt very helpfull, so im having to wait for company statement as proof we paid twice on both occasions

    Pretty hotel and liked the setting etc. Great food!

    Room fabrications need a little updating - dare I say a wee bit too chinzy and floral?

    Nice Location small enough to be informal however has the image and facilities you would find in a larger hotel.

    Staff great and allowed me to park car for 2 nights even though only sleeping there for one.

    Plug for ketttle would not fit into socket! Left my jacket behind and updon returning later it could not be found.

    "Overall the hotel provided the essentials for an overnight stay and the staff were faultless in their service. It was disappointing that the room and en-suite were a little shabby, and the television had limited channels, but the overall feel of the hotel was welcoming and comfortable." (97366266)

    The staff were friendly and efficient in their service. The location was lovely and it was peaceful. The breakfast was good quality and staff went out of their way to be accommodating.

    The room was uncomfortably hot during the night despite having windows open. The decor needed sprucing up in the bedroom and en-suite. The evening meal was overpriced and disappointing, though the waiting staff couldn't have been nicer.

    "Hotel was small and friendly rather than impersonal and boxy. The staff were helpful, we enjoyed our one dinner that we had. The lounge was welcoming with the fire but could have got a bit crowded. We had an effecient taxi firm that we used both days who turned up on time. Altogether an enjoyable experience." (97116445)

    "A small friendly hotel ideally suited to those who do not like the hustle and bustle of larger establishments. Full of character, period features and seeped in history. Highly recommended. Rooms warm and comfortable in keeping with the buildings character....First four poster bed which I've had the pleasure of sleeping in. It adds a little something to that special weekend away!!!!!"     "The hotel had mixed up the booking initialy placing two of my colleagues in the same room. The hotel completley lacks atmosphere and you are made to feel as if the staff are doing you a favour. The only consilation is the Dog & Dublitt pub down the road which provides exellent food and a welcoming atmosphere." (97555134)

    The setting, location.

    Needs upgrading. The Fire Alarm rings from the shower steam. Not funny @ 5.30am.

    "Hotel is close to M42 so if wind in certain direction can be noisy outside but inside we did not find it a problem. More than made up for by the walks possible along the towpath and proximity to great countryside and closeness to the Belfry. Evening meals were good. Enjoyable relaxing place to stay. Might be worth checking to see if there is a function on as proximity of some bedrooms to the Marquee might impinge on your enjoyment if you were not one of the party!" (99707856)

    Lovely setting beside the towpath - good walks. Room good size and well equipped. Meals good standard.

    Staff very helpful but some needed training on aspects of their job - e.g. waiting table, calculating bills!

    "We would like to have known that we had to book our table for the evening meal as we arrived before 6pm at the hotel but we could not eat until 8pm and as we had a child with us he was tired and hungary and by the time we sat down to eat he was passed himself." (99917720)

    Clean and inviting, my teenage son,s room was next door as requested, very friendly informative staff about local attractions, nothing to much trouble.

    The baths hot water didnt half full the bath, a little bit more water would have been nice to relax in after our day out and aboout.

    "I would have like to have been told about the noise from the marquee as I could not sleep. I complained the next morning about the noise, and suggested that perhaps the wedding guests should have stayed in the rooms near the marquee. I was told it was over at 12 midnight, but this doesn't help me getting to sleep with the noise of the disco. On the night of our stay we decided to venture out and asked where the nearest Indian restaurant was, we were told. However we were not told that we needed a code to access the barrier, bad service on the hotel's part." (99411758)

    The rooms were basic but clean.

    The room was very near to the marquee that is there all year round. There was a lot of noise as there was a wedding on. When we entered the room the window was wide open and there was no heating on. It took quite a few hours for the room to become warm.

    "After refusing the first room offered as too small and road noisey, we were offered another larger room and were initially satisfied ,when we dined we were very dissappionted in the quality of the ingredients and actualy sent the dish of vegetables back as cold and undercooked seriously undercooked, we were not offered another and left offended, when we returned to our room we could no longer hear the road noise as we were whithin feet of the wedding marquee which kept us awake until midnight, the breakfast was as the evening meal poor quality ingredients badly handled" (99691348)

    "When we arrived the reception dealt with us effectiantly once we had been to our room we decided to have a drink in the bar area at about 16.30 only to find the bar closed but when we approached a member of staff they were very helpful and found the duty manager to open the bar. As we were attending an event locally we arrived back at the hotel very late and the duty manager was very helpful." (99479559)

Readily accommodate special diets i.e. food allergy/intollerance. quiet, quaint and prefeerrable to chain type hotels where rooms, food etc. are the same the country over. staying here helped turn a show in the NEC into a full weekend break."     Easy access to NEC convenient for main road network. Bar/restaurant staff very friendly and helpful.

    One membr of reception staff unfriendly with poor communication skills, however other reception staff were helpful.

    Clean and spacious room. Very pleasant location with nice gardens.

    Carpets were a little shabby and shower was clean but not very powerful.Needed more towels than the one hand and bath towel provided.Could have asked for more but managed.

    "We would like to have been informed of a wedding taking place before we booked as the noise of the music kept us awake until the early hours and we felt rather out of place, as though we shouldnt really have been there. Also would like to have been informed of extra bed charge for my two year old. We have never been charged anywhere else for a cot or put up bed. It was not mentioned at time of booking or on arrival, just presented on the bill. Otherwise hotel is in a lovely setting and very convenient. Staff were very friendly and helpful, could not fault them. Having worked in the hotel industry myself all over the world I know how hard it is to find good staff, so well done on this!"     Evening meal was very nice indeed and staff were friendly.

    The breakfast was very poor! Sausages were not cooked properly, sloppy scrabbled egg and not much else to choose from. No milk or jam on the table.

    "Breckfast was good with better than average attention,We had dinner with my Son and Daughter in law the food was only about passable,could not recommend it.I had mixed grill for maicourse which I thought was well below what we are used to.I was not asked how I would like steak,as far as mixed Grill was concerned it constituted Aa reasonable piece of steak a very small portion of gammon and a small sausage,not very impressive!! My guests were professional people and were not impressed with the catering,in all our meal took roughly 3 hours not the quickest service good job we were not in a hurry.     The bar staff were nonexistant when there was a party present we had to wait quite a while for service,with no opology.
