    "This is not a hotel. This is a pub with rooms. I appreciate that the new owners have only recently moved in but there needs to be some significant improvements to basics such as updating the information on Smouthhound website (internet access)providing guests with an iron when requested. I was made to feel as though I had asked for the impossible. Sort the tv out. There are only so many programmes you can watch on BBC 1. When guests ask for a detailed receipt and go to the trouble of providing a postal address, compliance with this wish would be appreciated. These are all basic customer requirements,and are all advertised by the hotel on both websites." (107850425)

    room was well decorated.

    no internet access in room (advertised on Smoothhound as "throughout the hotel") only BBC 1 on tv in room on main road truck route. Noise starts at 5 am No evidence of management throughout the stay. Checked in/out by a bar person Asked for an official receipt to be sent as my company wont pay on till receipts. Im still waiting. Had to plead for an iron/ironing board and was originally told "dont know where it is"

    Hotel overhaul looks lovely and its has a good decor and a very modern feel. Management staff, check-in etc were professional and helpful.

    Each morning the cleaning staff outside the room (waiting to get into cleaners room) made no effort to keep quiet each morning even though right outside the bedroom door and chatted / joked /shouted along the corridor. 3 mornings and not one lie in past 8. Couldnt wait to get home for a rest so as a restful weekend this was unaccpetable and really spoilt our time there. Also in breakfast the staff acted as if no guests were present at all - shouting and singing. The Hotel has had a good upgrade but the non-management staff a long way off delivering a professonal service and spoilt the overall effect of all the effort made.

    when we first arruved at the hotel the receptionist was really nice and welcoming but when they done the change over of staff we found the other receptionist really rude and very dry when you asked any question, if we had this receptionist when we first arrived that would have spoilt the enjoyment of the overall stay at the hotel

    excellent welcome and good food in the restaurant for dinner (although fondant potatoes became new potatoes?) free internet access

    breakfast not good value. No orange left, no croissants left, milk which was full fat was left in a Sainsburys carton with the top off and was not chilled. No semi skimmed either.

    gorgeous food in the restraraunt. Vey clean

    the room that was advertised was very different to the one we actually stayed in. I thought that we were booked into one of the fully redecorated and refurbished rooms (picture on internet) Bit dissapionted with the decor in the room we were staying in

    "From the feedback I have received from the other exhibitors staying at the Dakota Hotel at Eurocentral busines Park we did well to avoid it and were generally very happy at the Moorings, although couldn't see any boats." (107116434)

    Lovely building, friendly and helpful staff, good position close to facilities and main road routes/motorways.

    bath needed sealant around edge, and though the 8 cushions look nice on the bed, it's a pain shifting them each night, 2 or three would be plenty.

    Nice clean hotel with friendly staff and an excellent restraunt. Important to us is that pets are allowed.

    Only that when we booked we stipulated that we would have a small dog with us and this did not appear on either ours or the hotels confirmation! This is important as in our experience some hotels have specific rooms for pet owners.

    nice clean bathroom.Ground floor decor stylish and welcoming.

    booked twin room online,was given double on checking in.This was quickly rectified.Had to ask for another bath towel,as bathroom only had one.

    Room was small. Food although very well cooked & presented, was very small in portion especially given the money charged. Hotel bar closed at 11.45.

    Helpful, friendly staff. Wonderful selection of food, congratulations to the Chef. Comfortable beds/room.

    Not really a bad point but I was unable to turn off the bathroom heated towel rail and found the room too hot. We did have the window open as far as it would go, also the curtains.

    when arriving at hotel, they had no record of our booking, even though i had a reservation number.We managed to get a room , but it was a twin bedded room and not a double.What would have happened if they didn't have a room free??

    Difficult to come up with any. It looks pretty from the outside!

    The room was basic to say the least. The food in the restaurant was disgraceful and I suspect that the hotel employs a cook and not a chef!

    "As stated my husband needed the little extras like obtaining coffee through the night, he was served with great help by the night porter. It is usually the extra little touches from the most helpful staff that make all the difference to someone to whom it matters. My husband cannot believe the low 3star rating ,he believes it should be 4. e stayed in Motherwell on a special occassion my son Colin Lynes boxed Barry Morrison for the British Title ( ,and won)so it was a one off. If we ever returned to the area your Hotel would be the first on our list.We were absoltely delighted with the room, the service, and the food. We had friends from Glasgow over to join us for lunch in the Restaurant without any apprehension re; the superb Quality of the food, and service. Thank You all for a great stay." (99190494)

    The room was spacious,very well furnished,and comfortable,Tea ,and coffee facilities were important as my husband does not sleep well due to terminal illness. Everything about the room was excellent.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the motorway and on an A road. I felt confident about finding it at the end of a tiring day travelling.     The hotel was easy to find and close to the motorway. The bathroom was very well designed and well lit. The room was pleasant with a comfortable bed. The service in the restaurant was very good with a reasonable choice on the menu. I particularly appreciated having haddock and poached egg for breakfast instead of the usual bacon, eggs etc. There was an adequate carpark.

    I stayed last year and the accommodation was OK, I didn't expect too much this year but the have had a refurb and the bar / dining is something special a big plus for this lovely building

    the rooms are OK but now need refurbing as the rest of the building has stepped up the standard
