    "A very disapointing stay it was so bad we had to book into the Best Western which cost us £135 more " (107934983)

    Unfortunately there was nos no good points

    The hotel was dirty,the room was a disgrace as was the bathroom leaking and overflowig wc hanbasin cracked, shower curtain falling off, dirty unclean fridge,a wardrobe that was aprox 3ft high with a microwave and a tv balanced on top at a 30 degree angle.

    "Overall our stay was adequate but we expected better facilities and a wider choice at breakfast at the price we paid. We would possibly stay here again putely because the location was perfect for us and at least we now know what to expect.     24 hour reception with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Comfortable bed with very clean bedding and towels. Plenty of hot water. Adequate supply of tea & coffee. Refridgerator in room. Free luggage storage on day of departure.

    Small room with bunk beds as well as a double bed, double was pushed up sideways against one wall which meant both people had to get in and out from one side. Cigarette burns on fridge and washbasin. Only small wardrobe and two drawers for clothing etc. one drawer of which was broken and could not be used. Continental breakfast limited to fruit juice,cornflakes, white toast with butter and jam and tea or coffee. We had to climb six flights of stairs to our room (no lift).Stair carpet worn through on edges of some steps. TV was poorly situated so that you had to sit sideways on the double bed with your back against the wall to watch it.

    "Would not use the hotel again without some assurances that the check in had improved somewhat. The night porter ven argued with me over the phone the following day to say that he waited for me to arrive." (108000571)

    Booking process by telephone was very good. Allowing alternatives in area at similar pricing when chosen hotel unavailable

    I asked for a late check in as woyuld be meeting colleagues and travelling to hotel after ameal. When I arrived at the hotel it was locked and when ringing for night porter for 20 minutes nobody arrived. The comfort of a bench at waterloo station for 4 hours whilst waiting the tube to operate and a coffee shop to open does not lend itself to an ideal experience and I am only glad my colleagues were understanding.

    "Rooms were rather small, but i suppose at the price they tend to be in London. The breakfast area was small not really enough room for all the guests and not particularly well organised, the food was reasonable." (99673110)

    decor and furnishing were poor though they did seem to be doing some decorating while we were there, balcony window didnt appear to fasten properly.

    "I would recommend this hotel for people who want a friendly, comfortable budget room within close reach of all tourist attractions. The bus stop right outside the hotel took you straight to all the major attractions. There is some lovely restaurants within a short walking distance." (3304954191)

    The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequately sized and we had a lovely balcony facing onto the mainroad. It was excellent value for the money (didn't make it down in time for breakfast due to late nights). Would visit again.

    The condition of the furniture was a bit shabby however it was clean.

    We moved to another room the following days. The new room was good with fan and refrigerator. The boss of the hotel was courteous and helpful.

    The room allocated on the first night was hot , small, stuffy and noisy. The other staff of the hotel were very unfriendly.

    "As a moderately priced B & B we found the Lidos Hotel quite acceptable. We did not have a fridge in our room but that was not too disasterous. The room fan was very welcome in the hot nights. Breakfast was plain and simple - orange juice, cornflakes & milk, toast and butter & jam, pots of tea or coffee served in cups and saucers made in Stoke-on-Trent. This was quite adequate for us but if you required a full cooked breakfast it was less than 15 minutes walk to the J.D.Wetherspoon's at Willow Walk near Victoria Station or their other establishment actually on the Station which both charged only " (3304932961)

    A number 24 bus stops at the front door and comes from Leicester Square in the middle of the Cinema and Theatre district. Only

    Being in the middle of a mini heat wave we needed to have the windows open all through the night and the number 24 all night bus was rather noisy. There are only two rooms which open on to Belgrave Road which are effected though. We were usually so exhausted when we retired to bed that we only ever heard the one bus.

    "our first room was situated near the hotel public toilet and we could hear every flush..and it wasn't hygenic..the bedroom window faced an ugly back yard..with bin bags..not a pretty site. bed linen was dirty..needed a hot boil wash. there was no soap in bathroom..the bedroom was located near reception area..not private at all.tv wasn't working. so we asked to be moved..and it was a room down the basement..no great deal improvement but it had to do..good job i brought my hand towel which we all used but there was no soap!!"     "The procedure about leaving the hotel during the day and leaving the key with the front desk. One of the fellows reened out my g/f and I for not leaving the hotel key with the front desk when we went on our excurions. Explaing the whole process when we check in would be most beneficial."     "Upon our arrival, we asked the receptionist how to get in if we came back late at night. He showed us how to open the door, it was easy: just bend over the counter and press the button. The outer door was always open. This gave us a very unsafe feeling. The room was small but otherwise OK, although when we moved a closet (in order to be able to turn off the heater), we found a lot of discarded rubbish and dust there. The shower was a joke: I've seen bigger toilet bowls. Plus, the hose and the faucet leaked, and the shower curtain was too small, so every shower ended in a puddle of water on our bedroom floor. On Friday night, there was some sort of party going on until 2:30 AM. None of the staff did anything to keep the revellers from shouting, slamming doors, and generally making sleep a faraway vision. Breakfast lasted until 9 AM, not, as stated in our bedroom, until 9:30 AM; this meant that even more people had to be crammed into the four-table roomette and sharing became a luxury, compared to the alternative: waiting in the dingy stairway. The meal consisted of coffee or tea, orange juice (not fresh, obviously), cornflakes and milk or toast (either badly burnt or far too white) with salty butter and an assortment of plastic-cupped jellies. Now, the quality of this type of jellies varies, but this was the cheaper kind. On our last day, it took about 15 minutes for our five pieces of toast to arrive. We tried talking to several members of staff who turned out not to speak any English. I know that when you're staying in a large city, especially in the centre, you can expect to be overcharged, but this was simply ridiculous. I've stayed in better and cheaper hotels in Paris, New York, and Rome, which, unless I'm very much mistaken, are very large cities also. This is definitely not a 'moderately priced' hotel: it is a rip-off. Invest 20 pounds more for a hotel that offers full breakfast and ensuite bathrooms, and you get 10 times the value!" (3304578542)

    Le rapport qualité/prix est excellent pour Londres. Les gens de l'hotel sont vraiment adorables et serviables. petit déjeuner : pratique et la location de l'hotel aussi.

    Certaines choses comme la place dans les chambres et la salle de bain... mais on ne peut pas pousser les murs!!! Cela reste tout à fait correct pour un hotel à petit budget... sachant qu'on y reste que pour dormir!

    "I was travelling with my two kids, 18 and 20, which I let the hotel know beforehand. The triple room had a double bed and a single, which we managed with, but almost no room to put three suitcases and backpacks. The beds were right up against a heater which could not be turned down, which I thought was dangerous and we had to be careful not to burn ourselves while asleep! The bathroom was a capsule - all plastic and small, but adequate. Breakfast was toast and cereal, which was plentiful, and welcome after a number of European breakfasts. Overall, the hotel was adequate for our purposes - I would have hated to spend a week there but we were only there for two nights and spent all day out anyway, so it was just a place to sleep and shower, and for those purposes was fine."
