    Location ,heating,facilities and breakfast

    shower a bit weak and confusion over billing/credit card payment.It should be made clearer that you have NOT taken payment when you book.I nearly left the hotel without paying in the belief that i had already paid on my credit card!

    Very nice atmosphere.. very 'inny'. Great experience for us (who are from out of the country) Very homey and friendly staff

    Was hot.. no A/C (not really a U.K. thing, I know) plus the TV was alittle small.

    Friendly welcome on arrival,good sized room was comfortable and clean, All public areas tastefully decorated for christmas.

    Room was a little cold on arrival,and heating seemed to go off late in the evening, as it was -4 outside the room quickly cooled down.The shower was fed from the taps with no themostic control and had a poor water flow.

    The staff were lovely, and the food was amazing. Very welcoming, and a lovely real ale on tap.

    The other guests! I'm surprised the staff kept so calm when confronted by some of the rather rude comments.

    Parking

    toilet holder kept falling off. Very bad reception on TV in room. Had room which was above the Bar. (Loud) High volume of HGV in early hours of the morning. Shower was very poor and would have taken hours to run a bath.

    Friendly staff lots of choice for breakfast (although everything was deep fried!!)

    poorly decorated room Smelt of sweaty feet! poor quality bathroom - shower attatched to bath taps - temperature impossible to control. Huge crack in the sink (very unhygenic) Carpets stained, old and poorly fitted. Cleanliness could be improved

    "A pleasant family-run hotel with some character, set in glorious countryside. I didn't have an opportunity to sample the evening food, but it smelled good, and locals were flocking in for their Friday evening suppers. I had planned to stay one night, happily came back for a second." (97236387)

    Excellent beds, nice linen, good pillows, nice size bath, good breakfasts, friendly staff, good beer, open fires

    Hot water not really hot enough, pressure and flow mediocre; somewhat creaky floors; a grab handle above the bath would be a welcome safety feature; some of the electrics a bit dubious, e.g. the 0.75mm sq. extension lead running the kettle in Room 9; would have paid £5 more a night to have wireless broadband, which costs practically nothing to provide, even if the speed may be limited in Wooler; I expect TV reception will be better when it has to be upgraded to digital. Sorry if this all sounds a bit negative, I'm just trying to give constructive feedback.

    "I thought the breakfast was mediocre. The room was adequate although it was on the cool side and the shower was only warm. Considering we had been walking all day this didn't help. The lighting in the bedroom was too dim. The staff we did meet were very pleasant." (97609206)

    "overall it was a really friendly and hospitable stay. the staff were absolutely great and very warm and genuine- a real Geordie welcome! the room was a little noisy due to a neighbouring room and also a bit too warm!" (99138078)

    the warm atmoshere and lovely flower arrangements. We particularly enjoyed the 2 evening meals in the restaurant conservatory- food was excellent and tasty and the ambience really friendly.

    the mattress on the bed was most uncomfortable- cheap and nasty! it would have been improved by tissues and more hangers in the bedroom.Also the |UHT milk was not very nice!

    Friendly atmosphere, excellent food

    Poor state of decoration in my room, but I believe the proprietors have only been there a short time - so I expect they will be redecorating soon.

    "My main lasting impression of the Ryecroft Hotel is how magnificent the food was in the restaurant. There was a varied choice to suit all tastes, the portions were huge and the quality of the food was superb. The staff were extremely friendly and outgoing, making sure at all times that we had everything required for our comfort and needs. The atmosphere in the lounge bar was extremely friendly at all times with a good mix of guests and locals. A thoroughly enjoyable weekend and extremely good value for money." (99435399)
